It did that because sprites cost a lot of money and KoF13 made them fucking broke

They couldn't recycle sprites from XIII and just add a handful more? That's pretty much what they did all the way until before 12.

They got bought by some Chinese company I don't know if they had the legal right to use those sprites

1) I don't own a PS4
2) I don't play fighting games that do not have one or more attractive character(s) in my opinion

Still bothers me how they abandoned the inspiration on martial arts movies and replace it with anime shit.

They put a lot of new characters that i couldn't care for. At least Street Fighter is bringing the old faces back, even including SFII stages, whilst KOF XIV forget them completely (it's sad to see the old characters only in cutscenes like Pao Pao Cafe instead of been playable).

That's why I dont play it anymore, I bought kof14 but it just.. doesnt click for me.

Makes sense with DOA5lr for the lewd and PC mods, but for KOF that regain trust with KOF XIII, they exaggerated again, like in KOF XI.

Because the game costs $90 after taxes in Canada. I've played the demo and while I enjoy a little KOF in my life, there is no fucking way XIV is worth that much money.

As a massive KoF fan and a former competitive 13 player it has MASSIVE problems that are preventing people from seriously picking it up, and I'm talking about KoF players.

The main and most damning one is hitboxes. They're tied to the models and characters frequently snap from one side to the other of a character and attack the wrong way, this affects crossups to, where a character can be clearly on one side but the game registers it as another. These can be consistently done with setups and it makes the game unbearable when playing seriously. Imagine a game where you can't be crossed up in the corner except sometimes you can if they do a certain setup but then if you press st.a when they do the setup suddenly you can't be crossed up anymore and they suddenly snap to the other side when they're going to hit you and it isn't a crossup anymore. That's KoF14.

The other damning thing that kills the game competitively is how dominant max is. People complained about HD but it was a once, maybe twice a game thing and was an incredibly precious resource. You couldn't do, for example, Iori st.D randomly in neutral and activate HD in the hope it hits because then you have wasted HD and likely thrown the match. In KoF14 you spend one bar, and if it is blocked then you are + on block and now powered up with EX moves and the opponent is in a mixup, and if it hits you get a 50%+ combo from a normal you couldn't normally do anything from.

It's no surprise that all the best characters are characters who have long poking normals they can abuse that with, and every single hit should go into a max combo because they're just the most efficient. Leaving combos aside, you have characters like Leona, Kim and Mature who are happy to activate max raw and just randomly do EX moves, of which they get 5 (Would have cost FIVE BARS in KoF13 to do this) for a single bar.

Fundamentally as well hop pressure and run pressure is shit, so it's a lot less fun too.

But OP I fuckin love KOF XIV and I play it everyday.

Hell you posted my my literal favorite character in the game. I love her playstyle. I'm also using Luong, Shun Ei, Ramon, Robert Garcia, and Iori.

Some of the hit-boxes are wonky and some characters are annoying. But nothing I haven't run into concerning first releases of new FG engines before. I try to compare this game to SFIV more than SFIV since the preceding game was their last 2D game before moving into 3D models.

That said, it's great. I love all the tools you get to play around with. i'm actually extremely diappointed how barebones and 1-dimensional SFV feels compared to KOF XIV.

Because the fighting genre is fucking shit and not even a game. Gets boring quickly.

The sprites were good in XIII but most of the designs were garbage. I sure fucking love meat wall Ralf/Clark that are literally just their heads swapped on the same sprite.
