The stupid AI honestly sent me back to V.

>better city states
>world congress
>better AI
>mods

>world congress
man I hated this

Im making the mood shut up man

>salt has been banned
>crabs have been banned
>silk has been banned
>dyes have been banned
>...

>better CS when they're all the same and you can control them all by spamming gold

>city states banned

>No mini history lesson on the loading screen

Fucking cunts I loved those. Did they decide to scrap them because some of the leaders did fuck all?

Does VI get really laggy in the late game like V does?

It's no way near as bad.

FUCK

>spamming builders when you should be spamming slingers

Definitely the worst launch in the series. So many complaints and everyone is jumping ship.

way ahead of you, I only have 1 warrior though, had no idea about that barbarians would jump my ass this early

>Playing one game of Assyria trying to go for science victory
>Maria somehow has all the delegates and is a total bitch
>Everyone really hates me fore some reason (Moreso than usual)
>They ban my most numerous resource
>Then they embargo me
>Then they embargo city-states
>Pay Napoopan, who has the second highest amount of delegates, to vote nay to the embargoing of city states but he still votes yes
>Go from 1k gold per turn to 20

I somehow still managed to win, but Jesus Christ, the entire world ganged up on me.

I think I dislike Civ because the AI treats it like a game and if you're in the lead, they HAVE to stop you.

Just turn off Domination win.

The AI in civ V was just as bad. Higher difficulties just give it a bigger headstart.

I'm liking the changes as I've discovered them playing with other people. Their AI is much better.

Civ 6 got the best and most annoying at the same time civ theme
youtube.com/watch?v=svjaduHhq98

Why are my workers jump around like interdimensional ninjas when they're repairing tiles

Oh mighty Gorgo! You were a great wife. Will your civilization stand the test of time?

You rather have them roll over and let you win instead? Going to war with the lead player is just a basic strategy.
Of course the AI is insane in this game and will go to war even if you're not in the lead if you dare as much as look at them.

>can't trade with city states

W H Y

I BASICALLY OWN YOU AT THIS POINT JUST GIVE ME YOUR FUCKING NITER YOU CUNTS

>that pose
Jojo reference?

>That pose
JoeJoe reference?

Are you retarded or am I being baited? Probably both.

When you're a suzerian or whatever they give you all resources they have access to. If you don't have it, they may not be mining it yet.

its false flagging to make the JoJo fanbase look worse than they already are

Is literally any pose a Jojo reference now?

Go back to IV instead if you want good AI and mods. V has all the same flaws as VI and then some, it's just had a lot of time to get polished up.

Yes

This is my first time ever playing a Civ game. Any tips on what to research and shit?

On the opposite site, natural wonders have little quotes when you discover them

jojo invented posing, didn't you know?

Anyone here play Civ like they're NTR? I setup a game with only 3 civs: myself, Gilgamesh, and Cleo. I build up my capital a little bit and then setup an auto-hotkey script to click next turn endlessly. I then leave my room and sit outside it for a few hours while the game plays. If I come back into the room and the game is still going I mumble a few apologies and excuse myself again. I've thought about knocking on the door before I enter but I don't want the noise to potentially disturb them. A few times my mom has asked why I sit outside the door of my room and I tell her each time "It's my new meta" (she has no idea what that means).

Research whatever you need at the moment, or what might cause an inspiration for what you may want over on civics side.

Don't be afraid to change research when you're halfway done with something if you're close to being able to do the Euraka moment so you don't waste research time.

...

My first civ I come across and its....

Harald!

>can't restart the game to get the exact same settings instead of going back to the main menu

>trying to go for science victory
>not using domination as the only win-con

...

>everytime I come home I see this brod hund laughing

...

I do wish there was at least an option for the AI to act like actual leaders instead of the most dickass players possible

Don't they have personalities?

IIRC there was a list of civs that had info on their personalities/characteristics/warlike nature - do we have something like this for civ 6 already?

The game tells you their personalities. They have 1 trait that they always have and is immediately visible, and one hidden trait that isn't visible until you have a better access level on them, and is random each game.

The problem is that many of the leaders' inherent personalities make them perpetually mad at you if you're actually playing the game. Brazil throws a shitfit every time you get a great person. China bawls his eyes out every time you build a wonder. England hates you for even existing.

Oh, that's pretty sad.

Patch when?

Why are all the leaders so hot, Sup Forums ?

>minding own business
>meet germany
>build a campus
>"you have fulfilleld a city state quest"
>oh thats neat i guess
>germany starts shitting himself violently
>expand to an ocean tile
>norway immediately up my ass about "lmao no boats faggot"
>france chiming in to tell me how much of a cunt i am because i don't have spies by turn fucking 13

fuck me the agendas are ridiculous, its so hard to keep people calm and whenever I do end up making another civ happy, that's entirely accidental too.
Even trying to befriend china, germany or monty is an effort in futility. Making the agendas triggered by such simple things is absurd. Who the fuck ISNT going to get a luxury/wonder/envoy. You break thier retarded, overly restrictive rule ONCE and thats it; you're a cunt.

>fucking Kalinka Malinka
I wonder if everybody is just as sick to listening to this one as me.
I'm Russian, though, so it may have affected it.

It's trying to simulate the impossibility of pleasing everyone. You can't please everyone. Furthermore, on your quest to become the greatest civ, you're going to piss off every nation. Skilled players might be able to grab 1 or 2 allies on the way.

Offer one of luxury resources as trade, click [what will you give me]. Trade changes to me giving them the resource, gold and gold per turn for nothing.

Yeah cool good trade.

click on "what will you give me for this" to cheese any deal from the AI
you can abuse the fuck out of them by asking for literally 99% of their gpt, asking "what will make this trade work" and then asking "what will you give me for this" after they inevitably suggest you give them the resource, gpt and gold for free

what the fuck
this just happened

civ 6 doesn't have the same emotional attachment as BNW does

For example, when someone builds a wonder in a far away place, you don't get the sparkly sound effect or the icon of the wonder

You just get flat text saying that 'a civ built wonder x'

Was this the same thing with Civ 5 before BNW?

Better tear those wonders down, gweilo.

china is a bitch ass nigga

I don't understand the joint war mechanic
>I start war with mr Bazooper of apeland
>have france as ally
>try to joint war
>kongo is not in the list
why? or should i use joint war before starting a war? and also I heard that the allies don't even want to join but where is the fucking option to even ask em?

Who cares about warmonger penalties when everyone is denouncing you for other reasons already.

Now I get this

Is this guy bipolar?

>I get 2 Saka War Archer's for the price of one

wait what, how? Not that I'm complaining

F

All AI leaders have 2 agendas. One is fixed and plainly visible. The other is randomized for that game and is hidden at low diplomacy levels.

China always hates it when others get wonders.
Yours seems to have a random agenda that respects military power.

I find with diplomacy you have to choose 1 civ to be your pal, and then send delegation and trade often.

It's not like V where you can make friends with everyone and stay neutral. But if you declare war on a common foe, you will likely have a loyal ally.

Why didn't you read the abilities of the Civ you are playing?
>Receive a second light cavalry unit or Saka Horse Archer each time you train a light cavalry unit or Saka Horse Archer.
Can break the game if you use the Horseman Economy exploit by using the right policies and just building horsemen and selling them and using the gold to buy shit. Is more efficient than building things normally.

anyone here succeed to get allies to a war with them?

t:

you can improve resources in a city states resource for them and get access to it if you're the suzerain. Otherwise you should automatically get the resource if you're the suzerain.

Oh right, well I was thinking of focussing on horses

Thanks user

Half of them probably didn't even exist. It's ridiculous.

More?
This was genuinely funny

Sorry friend, its all I had

the dumbass AI

>Teddy: hey wanna be friends?
>Me: sure bud
>3000 years later
>after countless wars together, after trading, etc
>Teddy: I FUCKING HATE YOU! "denounces"
>me: what? why?
>Teddy: FUCK YOU! WE WAR NOW!

Sid meirers needs to quit releasing dlc for a few months and defuck their AI.

Your friends denounce you for nothing.

Neutral states that are all the way across the world and have no means of interacting with you will declare war with you. Do nothing for a few dozen turns, then ask for peace. Oh but not just peace, they ask for peace, 3 of your cities, 500 gold and all your luxury resources. When neither they nor you have done anything to the other.

Hell even if you are beating them they still try and sue for peace with you giving them shit. You literally have to grind them into the dust as its the only way war will end.

speak of the devil

>Let's make a deal!
The AI is always so fucking retarded with this shit. If you're on their good side, you can completely abuse them with this shit. If they're on your bad side, they're troll you the whole game with batshit trades.

I went into this game so nice. First time playing.
>Russia (me), Greece, and Iroquois all share a continent.
>We're all successful and occupying huge chunks of land. All is well.
>Greece gets greedy and suddenly attacks Iroquois.
>Iroquois asks for help and I oblige.
>Together, we destroy the Greek menace and its lands are generally split between the two of us.
>About 250 turns in, Iroquois is having financial troubles and asks for a donation. Sure, why not.
>Iroquois declares war about 50 turns later.
>I crush him.
Peace is so impossible with this game that it almost feels dumb.

they must have programmed it intentionally that way

like

>IF player is 90% to "X victory" trigger ally to denounce and declare war

Id like to see player made mods unfuck the AI. Id like to see a straight forward game. Never had one.

It's really retarded, especially considering the setting, but its mainly because it's a free-for-all game with only one winner. When one guy is way ahead, everyone else will typically gang up on him. This creates stupid scenarios where long time allies turn into heated enemies as the turn limit comes into view. You can't play it like a world leadership simulator or some shit; you gotta play it like a traditional board game where everyone's a fucking dickhead.

theres a shitload of if statements I suspect

You have no allies in Civ.

except for the warmongers who attack you at start and got your back throughtout the entire game

ie genghis khan, gilgamesh, shaka

Gill is a bro.

Everyone here has beaten Deity at least once without exploits, right?

>needing to be allies with city states when you can just buy them

Shaka is very bro.

[increasing in volume screaming african man]

ÄYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA

WHAAAAACHAAAAAYAI

when?

they really need to fix this shit. there shouldnt be calvary units till turn 50 or 60 at least.

>mfw 3 horsesmen, 1 horse archer, a warrior and even the pikemen show up on my front door on turn 27

The amount of backstabs and surprise wars from this game is ridculous

I mean I drove them away thankfully but jesus that was an assclencer

more than all previous civ games combined I think desu

>turn 27
WEAK

>spain
you came to the wrong cordoba chupacabre

>tfw playing Scythia and spamming horse archers
>Egypt hates you for not having a large army
THE FUCK YOU WANT FROM ME, GAME?

Scythia is amazing

>You will never lay the bed with Scythia because shes too buzy with her horses
feels rotten man

city states are cancer..
They lock the game up, making it more on rails.
This is why civ 4 is still the best. It has a raw feeling as oppose to the planned feeling of civ 5 and civ 6.

Ive never played civ but it looks interesting. How hard is it to just dive in at this point. I have no experience with tbs.

has there been a single patch released yet after that 1GB one that had no patch notes?

Kek

fairly easy. just do the tutorials and you'll be on your way

I'd start with civ 5 first and its expansions, gives you a good feel for the series.
