i love the series and i played every mainline game from classic to ZX advent including gameboy games

i would be fine if everything had ended in zx advent, but i completed it on expert mode and i got the secret ending that hinted at ZX3

I liked starforce.
1 was fun.
2 had a godawful encounter rate, but I thought it was fine otherwise.
3 perfected it and took the series to a new height my opinion.
I really liked the gundam-esque designs of the finalized noise forms.
Too bad they never made an another 1 after they finally made it really good.

X, X4 and X8 probably hit higher marks than any other series
X2, X3 and X5 may have been boring / more of the same but they weren't a mess and were more inventive than any classic sequel

I seriously don'y understand why people even consider X8 okay. Half of the stages play like an awkward minigame, the visuals are atrocious as well as the animations, and the 'super attack' mechanics just feels stiff and awkward in a mega man game. The only good thing I can say about X8 is the music, and that's not saying much in a series like Mega Man

I feel like the Zero games would've been better if the screen was bigger and they removed the score system.

With the way skills are tied to ranks it encourages you to rush through a stage, however the screen is so small that sometimes enemy appearances don't leave you enough time to react. Which is why I prefer ZX in terms of gameplay, much less stressful.

Fun boss fights, traveling through the world was great fuck you, but I wish the different models were more useful like pic related or PX

no. Metroidvania style world only work if there's interesting things to find in it. ZX's overworld was just pointless filler that got in the way of the actual fun bits

in mega man zxa there's this minigame that's an 8 bit sidescroller version of a few levels of the game. The team had a lot of fun doing that. Meanwhile, New Super Mario Bros had just came out, and the team was convinced that basing an entire game around revisiting the series' roots were viable. It probably also helped that, after the ZX serie sand star force both bombed, using low grade sprites kept production costs to a minimum.

I used to like 3 more than 2, but 3 loses some appeal when you realise how useless most of the weapons are. In 2 there are reasons to use all of them in a good way, even if Metal Blade is OP - but you can't speedrun good with just Metal Blade so it's okay.

9 is fantastic
except there is very little wiggle-room in it. You feel kinda choked and forced to play in a certain way when you play it.
But it's a great game, love it

Seeing as though the world is just the levels you would travel through being able to go through the levels over with new abilities was pretty entertaining. Also the world allowed places like Area C to happen which couldn't really happen in Zero or X. The change made it feel different from the previous series which was what ZX needed to not just be written off as an "easier megaman zero"
