The thing is those AAA games are pretty much the sole reason you'd need a decent desktop rig. Those are the only games that actually show off those fancy new graphics cards.

I'm gonna be honest with you, If you have expendable income and you're a pc enthusiast it shouldn't be a big deal. I mean, my video card and monitor cost more than all 3 consoles.

I own a xbone and a wiiu, it's my blu ray player and good for friends over. Although I haven't used the Xbox in 6 + months, I don't want to pay for Xbox live anymore since I barely use it. I don't get the dark souls games so I don't own a ps4 couldn't care less about boodborne

GSC actually had development kit for 360 and even considered to port STALKER to it. Also STALKER 2 was going to be for 360, the engine was being developed in mind with it as well. Though apparently console version was going to be different from PC version.
