Next to no marketing.
Launch between BF1 and CoD.
This pretty much. And with how bad the first titan fall was.
Damn shame too since this game is goty contender.
The first one sold very well and most people agree it was good to decent
>how bad the first titan fall was
kys
>vanquish with MP
are you telling me you can slide around on exploding knees slowing time shooting faggots? or are you exaggerating again OP.
>how come its supposedly not selling well?
Observe the bottom right corner.
yes exactly that
alright, il admit im interested now. ive been ignoring it because origin and i heard the demo a while back was kinda shitty. i guess il give it another look. its a damn shame its origin exclusive, that has to be hurting it on pc.
All of the above aside from slowing down time. It has a very Vanquish feel to it though.
Don't buy it. The game is a ghost town. Don't worry, the shills got me to.
is the single player fun at least? and damn, i was hoping it wasnt too dead already.
Look user, just watch gameplay and see for yourself, there are obvious shills here that will blatantly lie to you so just do a 10 min research
Don't believe him. You can still find games in seconds on PC. The queue times are faster than fucking Overwatch.
Titanfall was amazing faggot.
Bullshit.
I wait less than a minute to find a game.
Titanfall was good it just lacked content
im starved for games and about to buy it. i love robots and titanfall 1 was pretty fun. talk me out of it/sell it to me? id rather hear what players say than watch some videos. whats good/bad about whats been added?
Start sprinting and jump to a wall to keep gaining momentum
When touching the ground, crouch to do a knee slide and keep the speed and direction
You can do John Woo shooting this way
Take cover behind stuff awhile doing this
Parkour like a faggot if you want
Shoot niggas in the air or land on them with a kick
Shuriken someone
Call in a titan and rampage through people
Go weaboo mech and sword shit
Detonate in a nuke and blast off to land on an enemy titan and sabotage them awhile rodeo
Yes its gud

decide for yourself before getting excited
does the game have a mode where you have to paly objectives or just deathmatch type stuff? the only thing i saw was that mode where you have to get your money to a bank, seems a bit weak
and are the spawns random like cod type shit? am i gonna get gunned down right after turning a single corner?
neat. that all looks pretty good to me. as long as the servers are still alive im down for that. that grapple looks too fun.
If you were a casual-ish Titanfall player you're going to find it pretty similar. The main major changes are stuff like Titans now being hero-like loadouts, with just some perk-like customizations, instead of selecting what weapon you wanted and shit, but it also means the titans are more varied and interesting. Titans are a bit more fragile because of how rodeo and shields work: now titans have no regenerating shield, and when you rodeo an enemy, you take a block of health off his titan and get a battery, which you can put on your titan or any friendly one to give it extra health as a shield. Burn Cards have been removed and replaced with Boosts, which have some similar effects, like amped weapon, and smart pistol, which is now a boost instead of a regular weapon. You need to get points to charge up your boost so you can use it, similar to how you charge up your titanfall.
srsly though how empty are the lobbies on PC? my impression from reading articles is that its bad...like 2% of battlefield 1's PC population
ea threw it under the bus in order to promote "wez faught in WWI n sheit!"
There is still Attrition, which was the most popular and "main" mode in the first game, where you need to get points by killing NPC enemies, pilots and titans. The one you mentioned, Bounty Hunt, is similar, but the NPCs are neutral instead of being from 2 different factions like on Attrition, and you need to keep storing shit on your bank, which isn't present there either.
There are still modes like CTF, Pilot vs Pilot, Last Titan Standing and Hardpoint (point capture). It may be harder to find matches on them, but yesterday they reordered the mode list, and now Mixtape, which is essentially queuing for a bunch of random mixed modes, is right next to the top.
It's not an issue at all, and people are blowing it out of proportion. Yeah, it's nowhere near as close to BF1's population, but you can still find matches in seconds with no problems, no matter what time of day you're playing on. Lobbies are always full with different players every time.
that's cool i guess
I just dislike that OP compares it with Vanquish because you can slide on the ground for a second with a speed similiar to sprinting
yeah, its nothing like vanquish but it does look fun in its own way.
im glad to hear attrition is still in game because that was my jam in TF1. gonna miss slammer LMG rodeoing. guess il take a chance on this and hope the player base does not faceplant tomorrow.
>linking trash console gameplay
At least post a video where the game is played on a relevant platform by someone competent at it.
I guess stun grenade and gravity shuriken can kinda count as slowing down time
Poor marketing.
>PC
>relevant platform
Titanfall will die faster on PC than any other platform
Because we can't have nice things.
You mostly find people playing Attrition, Hardpoint (conquest from BF basically), Bounty and a few playing pilot vs pilot.
I tried finding a capture the flag match but there were like 40 people in all of Europe playing so I couldn't play. Fucking hell, more people need to pick up this awesome game
So it's a press X to go "fast" game with no content?
>poor marketing
>launched between fucking BF and CoD
titanfall 1 was a gameplay gem that got hurt due to a lack of content, and at this point idk if I'd even get this one since poor sales indicate it'll just die quicker. It's honestly completely EA's fault.
How much $ do you think the single player is worth?
it was enough to show its nothing like vanquish
$40
Too short for my liking. Same length as most CoD games.
thanks. Ill wait For 20-30$
EA also didn't help the devs that made Titanfall 2 said EA just released the launch date and didn't tell them so it. and now EA is trying to throw the blame at respawn as to why the games isn't doing well.. Never change EA
It's short and sweet. I wouldn't buy the game just for it though, but it was a nice extra. If that's literally all you're interested in, maybe $20. The plot is really simple and predictable, and you can finish it in like 5 hours probably, but it looks nice, play really well, has pretty interesting small mechanics introduced occasionally, is always changing stuff to keep it from getting boring, and the banter between your character, BT and even the bosses is kinda funny. The last couple of levels are 10/10.
Titanfall 1 was fantastic. It just had shit content
I bought mine for 40dls on G2A
Worth that much
I'm enjoying it alright but it seems like there is only about five maps in the whole game.
It could use some more diversity. I don't usually say this but I wish there were more maps that reflected the single player's sense of platforming.
The maps are pretty shit compared to the first game, both in quantity and quality. The first Titanfall had like 14 maps on launch I think, while this one has 9 IIRC. At least Angel City is coming this month I guess.
At least we're getting more, I guess this is kinda like a splatoon-like release. At least this game has more than one game mode.
What's there tides me over so far, I think a bigger issue is that I keep getting the same two stages on repeat occasionally
at least new maps are free. which is very unusual because EA
i really hope they come otu fast enough though. still haven't decided if i actually wanna buy the game
>interested in first Tittyfall because hey mechs
>find out it's a weird pseudo-MOBA with AI cannon fodder, no single-player and mechs just play like bigger infantry
>turned off forever
>keep an open mind about 2
>Super Best Friends super dicksuck the game on their podcast
>kinda want to get it now even though I probably won't care enough about the MP to support it
I noticed that too
Eden is my favorite map and doesnt apear on rotation as often as some others
Noticed that after the small patches the rotations were better than release. huh
If you're concerned about them, definitely wait. I do miss the Titanfall map design a great deal, but that didn't really hurt my enjoyment of the game.
They're releasing everything for free because they tried to sell them last time and they fucked everything up, splitting the community which helped killing the game, then they decided to give it for free for everyone after the damage was done. I do hope they come out with more and better maps soon though.
Because EA has a track record of being unsuccessful right?
It works for the game
You have to play it to understand why
Titans are a central part of the game design, but theyre not all. Its like fighting games where you have the special meter and you can turn around a fight with it, but its not the only important thing on the match
Killing grunts gives points and speeds up the titan meter. Also makes the game more action packed.
>Titanfall
>Bad
I hope you're joking.
>pseudo-MOBA
Just play pilot vs pilot then, it's a pure deathmatch style shooter. I don't LOVE the titans honestly, they are designed to counter eachother and are badly balanced (legion wins, always)
Tone is by far the best if you're competent.
It distances from the first one enough to alienate old players ('cause they fucking tried to fix what wasn't broken) but it's too much like the first one to attract new public
A sneaky pilot counters a Titan
Tone>Legion>>Scorch>>>Ronin>Ion>>>shit>>>>Northstar
The only reason Ronin isn't lower is because he is really fun to play, even if not that strong.
>playing Titanfall 2 MP with the Armored Troopers VOTOMS soundtrack playing in the backgroundt
Not if they group together, which good teams do.
Northstar is the only titan I think is fun to play and she gets shit on by EVERONE. If you want to kill pilots with a tank pick Tone, it has faster projectiles with a bigger hitbox. If you want to kill other titans legion (and yet again Tone) does it way better. I struggle to see Northstar's purpose, it's designed like a distance based tankbuster but it doesn't matter when both Legion and Tone has better dps at all ranges
For the original tittyfall
>cons
barely any weapons
no actual campaign
burn cards not implemented well
>pros
new based ip
made with the fucking source engine
amazing gameplay
sweet sweet titans
Anything more worth mentioning?
And how does the sequel handle this?
Playing this game reminds me of the fun times I had playing Cod4 for the first time. Just pure fun.
Northstar is weird as fuck. I feel like all of its skills have no synergy at all. The primary weapon is a sniper, which makes you think it's a Titan for long range engagements, but you can gib pilots with a Tone 40mm a lot easier, or just Legion's long range mode. Then there's the awful Tether Trap, Cluster Missile which is basically a shit version of Tone's Tracker Rockets, fucking Hover which makes you a target for everyone in the map, and the Core which is basically that plus a shit Salvo Core. Pretty much every other titan does the same shit as Northstar but better, and it makes it feel like a bad jack-of-all-trades.
And this is why hero titans was a shit idea. People complained about 40mm and arc cannon stryders being all you saw in the first game, and their solution was to make tone and legion all you see in the second. Literally retarded game design.
Good campaign, balanced the weapons and added a few more, progression is way better
I hate Ronin so much. It's like their only purpose is to run in and block your fire, ally and enemy. What's the appeal?
It's literally the ColdSteel of mechs.
>barely any weapons
More weapons, and people seem to be using a lot of different stuff every game I play. SMGs and Shotguns are popular, but I always see people trying out lots of different variants of those, as well as LMGs, Assault Rifles and Grenade Launchers
>no actual campaign
There is a campaign, which is short but really good
>burn cards not implemented well
No more burn cards. Now pseudo-kill/scorestreaks,
>new based ip
Still new-ish I guess? It feels fresh with the world being fleshed out in the campaign.
>made with the fucking source engine
Still true
>amazing gameplay
Also still true
>sweet sweet titans
Titans in the first game were pretty boring. Now there's less customization, but they're more fleshed out.
It has like 5 new guns, a 4 hour campaign, burncards are now scorestreaks, and the maps, titans, game modes and population are all notable worse than the first game.
They need to remove legions long range mode (or at least nerf the range) and give Northstar shield during hover. And also make its core not suck ass. It's literally just a shit salvo core that can't even hide behind friendly tones shield.
The shotgun is really good to kill pilots at close-medium range, and useful for killing people indoors if you have the ricochet perk. I just find it really fun to keep harassing enemy titans going in and out with Phase Dash, slowing them with Arc Wave and just shooting until you charge up Sword Core and go crazy. He's pretty weak against stuff like Legion and Tone, but it's still a ton of fun to be an annoying and mobile titan.
Go back to CoD you underage faggot
Titanfall 1 is amazing. The mechanics were near perfect and it had a singular gameplay
Titanfall 2 is just a generic CoD shit with mech skins. Even the fucking battery mechanic is not only stupid but also doesn't make any sense...
kys f a m
the demo was exaclty what's in the game. It's still shitty
>Northstar shield during hover
That would be nice. They could then switch it to Defensive and move the Tether Trap to Tactical, which makes more sense.
Titanfall 2 is going to sell a lot around Christmas... right around the time when people are tired of Battlefield and CoD and the good word of mouth about Titanfall has spread.
>tfw no gotta go fast scopedog titan
Robots are shit. Even the pilots have regeneration, but robots now don't have shields when they drop, and when you get them through a shitty new mechanic they don't regenerate. And you can't customize them anymore as well
It's completly different from titanfall 1, don't fall for it like I did, from one robot lover and titanfall 1 fan to another
I almost want to queue for multiplayer and wait the 10s it takes to get into a match, record it, and upload it to prove this guy wrong. But I know he's baiting.
I can't wait to see this post get 20 replies and have the next post he makes get even more.
I didn't play the original but TF2 has a lot of pilot weapons. ~35 weapons isn't bad, and they're balanced really well. You don't ever have to switch off shotgun to get a pesky sniper, just flank the fucker.
I was thinking about doing the same, but retards are still going to shitpost and say you're cherry-picking or whatever.
Christ, why the fuck UI is all over the screen? Why can't we have clean looking games instead of screen filled with icons, +100 and all kind of stupid shit?
How much longer are you going to keep doing this?
There are between 500 and 1100 players on Titanfall at any time on PC. Find games in seconds though the more obscure game types I'll admit are empty
It looks considerably better on modes that aren't Bounty Hunt, since you don't have that massive bonus meter, and the stuff at the top is more compact.
>500 and 1100 players
what
I've played yesterday and the in-game player count said 16k
Why, just because I mentioned CoD?
Titanfall 2 as a game is not objectivaly bad. As a sequel it sucks donkey tits and they should just have named it Call of Duty: Titan Warfare instead. Everything is ripped off from CoD, even the UI design for customization, the "perk-ish" system everywhere, specially on titans...
Yeah it was like that in the first. Except you had less weapons because 35 is redundant when the only ones worth using are r201, mastiff, car, and alternator. Never saw the appeal of the moar gunz argument
I would consider paying money for a new Titan that had rollerskates, even if it was notably worse than other titans.
I would definitely pay money if it made that VSSSSHHHHHHH noise when you moved.
found the mongoloid, I bet you are also an ameriretard
found the butthurt CoD player
>That guy that screencaps every thread of a game that he doesn't like
So pathethic
The first game was basically just R101-C, CAR, EVA-8 and the Smart Pistol. You can run with whatever you want on TF2 while still doing well and having fun. LMGs seem shit, but I've seen people doing great with them, same as snipers. Even grenade launchers are good.
I don't think this game will die out - at least not until the next Titanfall (and yes, EA have confirmed that they're in it for the long haul and they plan to release a sequel). The game is simply too much fun and the current players are sure to realise this. The community might be much smaller than COD or BF1 but I'm sure it will be dedicated. This game ain't going anywhere chaps.
Problems with TF2
>Shit maps, also only like 5 of them
>Shit customization, takes very little time to unlock every non-cosmetic
No it's really no different than the first. The meta is literally just 4 guns and 2 titans and anything else is just redundant. It's only worth using other shit when you want to fuck around against shitters
I play with a party of 6 G2 dudes and we constantly get matched against stacks of other 6 tryhards, and everyone always use pretty varied stuff, even while not fucking around. You probably just play with retards who can't go out of their comfort zone to experiment with new stuff because they fear getting shit on if they don't use meme weapons.
