The first half is absolute god tier with perfect balance of talking your way out a situation and having to kill people to get your way.
Second half is fucking hot garbage that showed just how ridiculously bad the combat system is over extended periods as well as the very very anticlimactic ending that felt rushed as all hell. Yes the foreshadowing was nice but it didnt make the ending any better.

Does anyone else think VTMB's combat gets lambasted too much? I mean when I first heard the combat was supposedly "shit" I was thinking of the Witcher's simplistic pseudo-rhythm game and boring % increase level ups type of shit or PS:T's diarrhea, but got a surprisingly good experience on my first run playing as a gun focused Tremere.

The problem is people expected the combat to be of similar quality as the writing and voice acting and everything else.

I wish there were some better mods, like model replacements, custom weapons, animations, etc.

A lot of it is either various ENB/SweetFX, fixes, or minor alterations. Biggest stuff is fan-expansion that literally everyone already has but nothing else really seems to stick out

What We Do In The Shadows is VtM: New Zealand with a Ventrue, a Toreador, an Old Clan Tzimisce and a Nosferatu sharing a flat together.

It's fucking hysterical, and there's a spin-off coming out about the pack of werewolves who appear in it called We're Wolves.

Hard to have those, since this wasn't really a standard version of the Source engine they were using.

I wish I could enjoy the game. I tried... But I just can't stand the wonky movement animations on the NPCs.

Not him, but popularity =/= quality, otherwise CoD is the pinnacle of video games.

The Clan Quest Mod is the best overall mod worth having for the game as it adds some new quests. One new quest for each playable clan (each one completely different from the other), two quests that are like mini triggered events around the city, a quest you can only do if you have lower humanity (so like a bad guy quest), and some bonus Malkavian stuff.

The current version of CQM comes with version 9.4 of the Unofficial Patch (the most latest one of that is 9.6 but there's not a big difference between the two) with all the newer quests + fixes that the Unofficial Patch has.

The mod also has packed in it a lighter version of the Camarilla Edition mod (balances gameplay + changes the disciplines to work a bit differently for the better) so you get the stuff people generally like about that mod. There's also a lighter version of the Companion Mod, so you can have Heather or the japanese demon hunter girl Yukie follow you around.

Lastly there's an option between implementing the Weapon Sounds mod which only changes weapon sounds or the Arsenal mod which changes the weapons available to the player (also balanced out from the other mods.)

Highly recommended and I would say play as the Tremere because their clan exclusive quest is fun as shit with a different variety of rewards depending on how it's finished.

Otherwise there is the Antitribu mod which is rough around the edges right now, but the new clans that you get to play as are kinda fun though for a bit.

So...since we have an actual thread for this here, I'll ask those of you who know their shit. If a new game akin to Bloodlines does get made, would you rather it be set in the oWoD Vampire: The Masquerade or would you rather it be set in the CoD Vampire: The Requiem?

For me personally I would like a new game in Vampire: The Requiem because VtM has too much metaplot crap that can get in the way of the game. Hell, the VtM metaplot plays a big part in making Bloodlines itself feel kinda nonsensical at times (a brand new guy who just became a Vampire is able to beat those far more powerful than him on his own with none of those guys even pulling out those powerful abilities unless you get mods.)

Those damn literal fuckboys canning good games and cool clans like Cappadocians.

Nothing in particular is standout. Most of them are more skin changes than anything.

OWoD definitely.

Vampire the Requiem is good for just more intimate storytelling, but that kind of stuff could get fairly boring for video game format, which tend to have more stuff happening in the background and for that Vampire the Masquerade is perfect.

My ideal format for a new WoD game would be OWoD VtM clans with none of the metaplot concrete shoes. I liked how VtR was unburdened by it, but the clans were so much less interesting. Malvakian as a subset of Ventrue? Whose fucking idea was that?

Also, throw in some goddamn Lost. They're the most interesting and flavorful splat to come out of that entire story mill in years.

I feel like this is literally the only interpretation of vampires in modern literature that isn't gay as fuck. It actually focuses more on how other beings interact with vampire society, not so much vampires themselves. There's no love story or some positive message, everyones trying to kill each other and get rich and fuck bitches.

Rockstar should make a Vtm game. I could see it working, grimdark city blending in with normies who don't realize theres crazy monsters just around the corner.

Mod tip: get the eye replacer. It makes characters look sooo much better, staring into eyes really gets the vampire seduction thing perfected. All else you really need is the unofficial plus patch, enb and sweetfx.

I've noticed in games like Mass Effect 3 and New Vegas that there are gay characters. That's fine. But then you always get these talks about their husbands or girlfriends or whatever and its uneccessary because they bring them up over and over again. I would rather the character hits on you once and based on how you respond they fuck off.

And its the same with straight characters. If theyre talking about their lovers, one time is okay and thats it. Nobody in real life cares about your personal life or relationship. It makes no sense to just meet someone and have them talk about their sexual life.

If you define yourself by your sexuality you need to find better things to identify by. Nobody in the world of business cares, leave that shit in your private life.

how the fuck people can think Deus Ex aged well but not VTMB is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, I love both games, but it's ridiculous to say that DX aged better.
