How do you have Nidoking and Gyarados? Did you emulate or do you actually have friends you traded with?
Easton Perry
What? Did you even play RBY?
Kayden Bell
>Caught Nidoran on Route 2 >Got Magikarp from Guy at Pokemon Center before Mount Moon for $500
Henry Turner
pretty solid team
koffing/wheezing dont have levitate in gen 1 so earthquake will fuck them up
Hunter Clark
>No Golem or Alakazam
Josiah Williams
>tfw you have to grind a shit ton before the elite 4 and there are no more trainers to fight t-thanks gamefreak
Brayden Harris
bait
Jace Jones
This game is easy as fuck just do whatever man
Evan Wilson
>Pokemon X/Y and OmegaRuby/AlphaSapphire was massive disappointments >On the fence about Sun/Moon >See older Red and Blue will be in game >Now hyped as fuck and will buy day one You got me Gamefreak. You fucking got me
Nolan Nguyen
skull bash sucks, aside from that you literally can't lose against anything with a team that good
Jackson Ward
Ethan and Silver cameos next gen.
Calling it now.
Christian Adams
I want to rape Silver's delicious boypussy.
Jonathan Taylor
>Put 170 hours into Y >Put 19 minutes into OR
I'm hoping Sun/Moon will be good. I loved Ruby when it came out and probably would have loved OR just as much had I not spent so much time in Y then immediately hopped over to OR.
Mason Stewart
Lol I just now thought it through and remembered that Nidoking evolves with a moon stone and Gyarados evolves at level 30 normally.
I think the only trade-evolve pokemon are Kadabra->Alakazam and Haunter->Gengar.
Lincoln Powell
>Horn Drill >Thunder over Thunderbolt >Ice Beam instead of Blizzard But why But why
Henry Morris
And Machoke-Machamp, and Graveler-Golem.
Damn it's been a while.
Colton Peterson
>Slash AND Cut >Horn Drill >Fly AND Drill Peck >Tri Attack AND Skull Bash >Dragon Rage lol
Austin Moore
I have Horn Drill strictly because I loved the move as a kid. I remember loving that something one kills everything. Think of it as a nostalgia thing
Zachary Phillips
why is blue so gay now?
Michael Rivera
haha i guess gamefreak watches jojo, with poses like that in the game! ora ora lol! XD
Jose Reyes
>advocating thunderbolt over thunder but blizzard over ice beam
What?
Dominic Stewart
>using Nidoking ever
Dylan Mitchell
level 20
Kevin Baker
>memeking without thrash
Anthony Rodriguez
...
Anthony Miller
You don't. I beat them with a severe level disadvantage. The AI and movesets are terrible. Don't worry.
Doesn't blizzard have higher accuracy in Gen 1?
Connor Adams
>Doesn't blizzard have higher accuracy in Gen 1? Yes but still not 100% I don't think a 25 power increase for a 10 accuracy loss is worth it.
Jose Wright
something like 90% IIRC, enough to make it really good.
Julian Brooks
Moveset me
Logan Sullivan
Your team is literally unbeatable at that point, you could rek giovannia and fire man with that.
Parker Morgan
what gen?
Evan Sullivan
>horn drill X acc means it can't miss as long as you're faster. >Ice Beam over Blizzard Nice to know you're literally retarded. Ice beam objectively better, having a 90% hit chance vs 70 with the same freeze chance.
Jeremiah Perry
>people saying to use thrash over body slam and ice beam over blizzard
Sure is retarded/never played gen 1 in here.
Ryder Brooks
>advocating not using thrash on ndioking Until you get EQ it's the single best move it has. Should be OHKOing every pokemon you face unless it's weak to bolt/beam.
Colton Perry
>ice beam >90 acc >blizzard >70
Ice Beam is 100 and Blizzard is 90.
What the fuck are you talking about?
Justin Cruz
4th
Jonathan Carter
Waterfall, Ice Punch, Bulk Up, Hypnosis/Enore
spec in HP, and your choice of Attack, Sp.Def or Def.
can also swap out the last two moves for Substitute and Focus Punch.
Julian Morris
What's wrong with Nidoking?
Andrew Hughes
Scrubs can't use it because it relies 100% on proper prediction, both for switching it into battle (because of its weaknesses) and for picking the correct attacks to use with it (because it has an amazing movepool but subpar offensive stats, which means you need to rely on SE hits).
It's not a great mon, but by no means is it bad.
Michael Walker
Thrash is a meme move on Nidoking.
Its only used for frail Pokemon like Alakazam that are resilient against special attacks but aren't worth using EQ on. Body Slam works just as well for KOing Alakazam, but it also has utility as a paralyzing move. Body Slam also doesn't lock you into your move, and it doesn't confuse you.
The 5 extra bp on Thrash aren't worth it.
Also, you don't use boltbeam on Nidoking. You use boltblizz or thunderblizz.
Bentley Price
Thats what got me.
I got Pokemon Y, after not playing pokemon since fucking Silver/Gold I think, and I enjoyed it.
I could totally go for some new Pokemon. The nostalgia hype sealed the deal.
Yes, I'll buy anything with Gen 1-3 Pokemon in it.
Dylan Brooks
Hyped?
Xavier Ross
That's fucking absolutely worth it.
Oliver Gonzalez
Prove me wrong? You can't
Sebastian Stewart
If you mean on rby, nothing, but if you are talking about gen VI it's because he's too slow to be offensive, and crippled by his typing to give any decent support.
It's not necessarily something wrong with him, it's just that the meta is way too fast for something with his spd and typing to be effective. He can barely hold against the majority of fairies in the game, except maybe clefable and wigglytuff, which are probably the only ones he can (barely) wall, and he's supposed to be a counter to fairies.
When Azumarill, and Gardevoir, are among the most used fairies in the game, nidoking really struggles to do anything, especially on the current state of the meta with ferrothorn, landorus, bisharp, gyarados, etc., being all over the place, it's just too much. Maybe if he could spin, or knock off, [spoil]thunder wave[/spoil] then maybe he would see more use, but another problem is that he's also too frail to be an outstanding support, so even with those advantages he would still be mediocre, at best.
Samuel Rodriguez
>not soloing the game with Nidoking shit taste
Justin Young
You are over-leveled anything would defeat the fucker.
Samuel Phillips
>Not soloing the game with your starter
Ian Ramirez
Nidoking doesn't learn Body Slam naturally though, plus it's extremely strong at level 23 when it learns it.
Dylan Sanders
>using trash Kanto starters over based Nidobro
Juan Mitchell
>Nidoking doesn't learn Body Slam naturally though
So what? Who the fuck itt has been limiting their comments to level moves? Not to mention that it also doesn't learn thunderbolt/thunder or ice beam/blizzard naturally, so why are those ok to mention?
Even the OP is full of TMs.
Eli Morgan
I just beat skyla in black 2 16 hours in. How much is left?
Easton Mitchell
>Using Pokemon at all and not using Digimon to oneshot everything
Isaac Nguyen
Im replaying Yellow right now, about to enter Victory Road
Should I be grinding or just go for it? I've been under leveled compared to the gym leaders for a while now and don't remember if there's another spike
Evan Cooper
You are severely underleveled and Blue's Alakazam and Pidgeot will rape half of your team
Easton James
This thread reminds me i need to go play yellow version so i can transfer stuff to sun and moon.
Elijah Ortiz
Thoughts on Generations?
Parker Morales
Why do you use Pinsir? He doesn't have great moves and I don't recall him being particularly strong in gen I
Jayden Smith
My teams mostly made of Pokémon Ive never bothered actually using before to keep things a bit fresh. Havent cared much about strategy since even under leveled Gen 1 is a joke.
Half my final teammates coming in around Fuschia City totally fucked my levels up though
Jose Richardson
balance was the game's biggest issue in 1999, balance is still the game's biggest issue in 2016.
no improvement in sight.
Logan Hughes
I told you to come see me when you have the same eyes that I do.
Julian Murphy
-Liked 1 -Liked 2 but was never blown away by it, always thought it was overhyped -Didn't like 3, found Hoenn tedious and the NPCs are the blandest in the entire franchise. Although Emerald was a definite huge improvement over Ruby/Sapphire -Liked gen 4 because of Platinum and especially HG/SS, which I felt were finally worthy of the praise that GS always got. I also liked the way they changed physical and special attacks. -Gen 5 was ok but really pretty superfluous. Introduced nothing new of any real significance. Power creep kicked in bad, which is never a good sign in a long running game series -Gen 6 was my least favorite. Region wasn't fun, NPCs were bland, not many cool new Pokemon, megas are gay, more power creep, Fairy was an underdeveloped idea (but then, it took a while for Dark and Steel too) -Looking forward to and staying hopeful for gen 7, even though it will still have the gen 6 crap
I would like megas more if 90% of the designs weren't complete shit.
