bump. I would also like to know this.
It's bumping then
Maybe
torchlight 2 is like 20 dollars
path of exile is free
pick one of those 2
I've tried finishing it like 3 times to unlock post game content but the issue is on the difficulties available from the get go, the game is simply too easy so it just gets tedious and boring
Torchlight 2 is a shit, A SHIT.
its a fun game but it can get pretty repetitive and boring at times but its fun when you do seasonal characters and try out new builds
It has nice animations that make for some satisfying combat and some fun specialisation of skills. I would say that it's definitely worth it at this point.
What difficulty you play on?
Disappointment if you played Diablo2.
If this is babbis first ARPG, it will be okay for one or two weeks.
It's fun to play every now and then, especially when new season begins
It's ok. A decent time waster. Sometimes boring, but the ARPGs that appeared after Diablo 2 are all fucking boring, so there's no difference in that.
It's the best at not being so boring, but it's still kinda boring.
The story and characters are the most tripe stupid saturday morning cartoonish shit you can find. Blizzard trying to be srs sucks dicks.
What's the current best ARPG?
no. it's trash.
Yeah it's fun
Grim Dawn is my vote.
PoE gets a lot of hype but it's way too pay to win for my taste.
Not really. It's a pretty terrible game and a pretty mediocre arpg.
>characters are the most tripe stupid saturday morning cartoonish shit you can find.
I liked the female crusader and the male witchdoctor. I also liked the spider lady in hell but that out of pure fetish.
They're all pretty much the same.
Virtually no difference at all in them. Torchlight, Grim Dawn, PoE, Diablo 3, Titan Quest, all of them are bot-able clicking sims without any real strategy.
>pay to win
didn't everyone claimed it was a really "free" to play game? did they changed something?
So they released the battle chest at $30 but I heard they are actually making the necromancer a DLC you have to pay too?
It's free to play sure. It runs on a freemium model where you're going to have to pay, presumably more than the cost of a standard game.
Yeah, It's probably going to be another 15 dollars.
Get on the PTR and enter Old Tristram mode. It really triggered my nostalgia mode, even the sound is authentic.
Yea they made Premium Stash tabs the trade stash tabs. So if you want to have an easier time trading you better buy them. I now play ssf...
>Is Diablo 3 worth the time?
If you just want to fuck around and have fun for a few runs, it's a very, very, very fun game worth it completly.
If you on the other hand want to get into it hardcore you're better off spending your time somewhere else
HAAAHAHAHA I AM AZMODAN THE MASTER TACTICIAN OF HELL AND YOU WILL NEVER DEFEAT MY MINION- OH YOU DID? WELL YOULL NEVER DEFEAT THE NEXT ONE THAT IS ON THIS TEMPLE ON THIS LOCAT-OH YOU DID ALREADY, STILL YOU'RE ALWAYS BEHIND NEPHALEM
The fuck is this
Also every audio log book you find is Warcraft humor level.
Its a arpg arcade game. You pop in a quarter and have fun for a few minutes and then its over.
Only when Diablo 3's price reflects this will it actually be worth while.
True, but it's still better than D3.
>PoE is pay to win
That may very well be the most retarded thing I've heard all day, and I just found out our President Elect is Donald Trump.
>and I just found out our President Elect is Donald Trump
Fuck up with your dumb shit
Diablo III is good if you enjoy number crunching and the idea of grinding for better gear. You're literally useless unless your gear is good once you reach Torment, and hunting for gear running rifts is the only thing you'll be doing.
If you want to explore dungeons you're better off playing something else like Grim Dawn.
Micro transactions suck and anything you realistically want is behind a paywall.
Have you not spent anything on the game?
yah on pc
dead on console last i played
fun mindless hack n slash where you can switch build at will
the combat is trivial, the graphics and atmosphere are cartoonish and the level design is very one-dimensional. Walk around an circle with monsters until you find the exit then leave and do it forever.
There is no tension in the combat and the difficulty is either god-mode or bullet sponge, no inbetween. In most cases you find yourself playing at the highest difficulty with no challenge until you reach endgame where it opens like 20 more difficulties. This is supposed to be fun for you, btw.
The game is just about loot collection, nothing more. There are some flashing lights and then more drops until you quit. Very very simple game with no depth.
they changed nothings, hes memeing
Diablo 3 is good if you want something fast paced that doesn't require spreadsheets. Its pretty simple compared to the others
Path of Exile is good if you want spreadsheet simulators and upgrades that feel rewarding
Grim Dawn is if you want something in between
No, I haven't. Literally nothing in the shop is required to be successful at the game. It's all cosmetic.
Even the premium tabs aren't pay to win, because you don't need them to be able to trade. They just make things a little easier.
If you want to play a glorified loot treadmill with only a marginal amount of depth and no challenge, go ahead
I personally recommend Grim Dawn or Path of Exile instead
Gameplay is really good, its the only quality of the game imho.
items are uninteresting for the most part, rare items are useless, you're forced into a build because sets are mandatory ( lon builds lol )
For example, if you want to replicate a classic d2 build like frenzy barb, you'll have to play around Thorns, which have been buffed massively for this purpose ( also Crusader ).
In the end you dont end up doing damage because of the Frenzy skill itself but because your Thorns are applied on every hit, which is lame.
Sorc has plenty of cool skills, really makes you feel like a wizard the first time you play the game. Unfortunaly you're forced into retarded / boring playstyles like Archon, that was fun in vanilla, like 4 years ago.
Same for Barbs, where the only strong solo build is raekor, while fun to use as a pure movement skill, it becomes extremely boring to play when all you do is spam it.
I'm not even talking about Monks, which was my main class in vanilla, they completely changed, its all about going fast while everything melts around you. Exploding palm is fun tho.
16gb download for a 16 levels dungeon with the same tilesets than d3, yeah but no thank you
>PoE gets a lot of hype but it's way too pay to win for my taste.
Isn't all the paid stuff in path of exile purely cosmetic? Maybe they changed it, but that's how it was a year or two ago.
That looks like garbage. Whats the point of "remaking" a game if you might as well just be playing the original?
why this game is not piratable, this is not even an mmo and even though mmos are piratable.
worst part is this confirms that d2 hd will never happen, most people based this hypothesis on the job offers posted by blizzard around 'working with classic games' but its pretty clear that this shit is all they had in mind
What are DHs and witch doctors like?
dont play Witch doctor this season it's fucking boring as hell. Try Barb or Demon Hunter. Maybe even Wiz. Others I can't say.
As someone who's played around 50-60 hours of it, I'd have to say no. The game is just... uninspired. I don't know how they managed to make the loot system so boring. Every character needs only vitality and their primary stat, so the only reason you'd ever change out a gear piece is if it increased your dps. There's plenty of similar games out there with better loot and skill system, and they're all cheaper or free to play.
if you didn't play D2 and don't actually like ARPGs then you'll probably have fun
if you expect depth or build diversity you will be woefully disappointed
blizzard is absolutely epic for releasing this masterpiece
I've played Path of Exile for 3 years and I haven't spent a single dim in stash tabs or anything, and even then I have microstransactions because they reward you with them if you complete certain number of challenges.
It's mostly because I can't pay from my country, but if I could, I would because of the content these developers work on, compare it to D3 or similars and they're just on another level.
>yah on pc
>dead on console last i played
it's deader than dead on pc
there are typically less than 500 people playing in primetime outside the first four days of a new season, and this season (which literally added nothing, not even so much as a balance patch or bugfix) didn't even get its usual bump
the only reason anybody even logs in now is to grind out seasonal journey to unlock stash tabs
this is a reasonable assessment
I enjoyed it.
Paragon ~500 and I finally decided to stop.
Storming through Torment 9 and taking literally (literally) no visible health damage was just not fun after that long.
Demon hunters I found kinda boring. Spend most of your time spamming boring skills to spam good ones. And I mostly used like one good one because it just massively outclassed everything else for the resource use.
Witch Doctor is... okay I guess. Its stuff looks cool but it feels... meh. You pretty much try to flood the screen with various animals but they're all so short lived it feels boring
>still no d3 shitposters
are they already sleeping?
Well said.
I give Grim Dawn a little something extra thanks to not being only online and having modding tools.
Unless u get both games for 19.99, no
There are way better argps you can play with your friends for way less
Grim dawn
Torchlight 2
Path of exile
Diablo 2
Pick all
no play a good game instead
I want to have fun with diablo3
is there any way I can get it? without uninstalling
I know starting a season character is a fucking chore, but I already have some 70s
shit out of luck sorry m8
Torchlight 2 feels more like D2 than D3 does. Not even joking. Listening to music on T2 gave me the same feeling I had every time I got close to the cain-scroll-tree in D2 where that fucking beast would appear. Fuck me now I have to reinstall d2.
>Listening to music on T2 gave me the same feeling I had every time I got close to the cain-scroll-tree in D2 where that fucking beast would appear
this is because matt uelmen did the music for d2 and torchlight ii
jay wilsen didnt want to hire him to write the music for d3
...
No. Killed the franchise forever.
Just play Poe or Grim Dawn
>PoE gets a lot of hype but it's way too pay to win for my taste.
this, tee-bee-aytch vham
how did u play d2 with a controller
(You)
Torchlight 2 is shit and dead.
Path of Exile is dead and pay2win.
Diablo 3 is fun for the first time and during a season but gets boring quite fast.
I'd say it's worth a spin. I still play from time to time. I also play PoE but microtransactions in a dead game are shit.
Fuck off son of a who're libcuck.
No wonder you're shilling for a dead microtransactions ridden pay2win dead game like PoE.
Azmodan is the cringeist shit i've ever seen in vidya.
>You defeated my siege machines? NO MATTER, I'LL STILL DESTROY YOU WITH THE ARMIES OF HELL.
srsly, what were they thinking?
I'm down for another Sup Forums threads
it sure is better than blizzshit
no it's boring. I didn't have ROS so I get to play the ptr for free. Act 5 is 20 minutes long and you just play through the same fucking levels of farming. I did the Diablo 1 event and did like 2 rifts then quit.
Save your money
Grr, you'll never save stonefort, Nephalem."
Raise catapults, save the day.
"Grr, you'll never defeat the demons that have infiltrated Bastion's Keep, Nephalem"
Kill Ghom
"Grr, you'll never defeat my siege weapons, Nephalem"
Destroy siege weapons
"Grr, you don't stand a change against my Siegebreaker Assault Beast, Nephalem"
Defeat Siegebreaker Assault Beast"
Ay bby u wan sum fuk
Defeat Cydea
"Grr, you'll never defeat me, Nephalem"
Defeat Azmodan.
pffft, you complainers act like getting constantly skyped by the giant orange head of a saturday-morning-cartoon-tier villain somehow undercuts the grim atmosphere the series was known for
thought they were porting the original into d3. this looks like shit, nothing about it says D1. However i am interested to see what diablo looks like in it (assuming hes there.)
We have this same fucking thread every few hours. Stop fucking shilling.
It was a shame too, because his cutscene was breddy gud.
no u
PoE is by far the most bloated and grindy arpg out there. The content updates haven't been good for a while now. I do like making a hideout though.
Have fun with that 600x800 resolution
it still looks fine though, because of good art direction
you can change the difficulty, or it unlocks after 1 play thru
Does the battle chest thingy include the new class and the Diablo 1 map? Or do you have to buy those separately?
I played it at launch for a week, hated it enough to quit. Bought a PS4 with D3 bundled into it and to be honest it was like a whole new game. Controls are really fluid and it has a great loot system with a rewarding endgame, the story and characters and non gameplay shit aren't great though but it's an ARPG so it's easy to overlook.
The Diablo 1 remake will be free to everyone but the Necro is paid dlc.
A FUCKING 240P YOUTUBE FILTER
>still can't have hp/resource numbers above their orbs
this kills me
necro isnt out until Q4 2017 anyway
What this guy said.
D3 is not a good choice unless you have a toaster.
>paid class dlc
disgusting. I wasn't thinking of buying any more blizzard games, but that certainly doesn't help.
The only legitimate reason to play it is if you like solely grinding for actually interesting loot in the endgame areas.
It is the most uninspired thing ever for an ARPG to scale every skill according to your main weapon's DPS and primary stat. On top of that the loot is incredibly boring. The only mildly interesting loot is in the endgame where you'll find legendaries and set pieces with some gimmick or another, ecouraging your to play differently.
Play Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn instead for a good time in single player, Path of Exile for multiplayer and hardcore theorycrafting
I'll probably get it if it's only $5 but I can see them charging $20 easily
>have the base game
>never got the expansion
damn shame I said to myself that blizzard wouldn't get any more money from me. I heard the expansion was much better than the base game horseshit.
Grim Dawn is the best ARPG out there right now
>Can't roll in PC version
>Can't travel by backslide everywhere on my female wizard
I would have bought two copies if they enabled this. How could the console version be THAT much better?
I wish they would fix that multicore support though
It's worth it. It's easily one of my most played modern games, I've racked up a few hundred hours on it across various characters. It's a casual ARPG, but it's really fucking good at it. No other ARPG has combat as satisfying, the itemization is actually pretty goddamn enjoyable with RoS, and the rift system (And especially adventure mode holy shit) make it the best chill out and click ARPG out there.
PoE is the best crunchy ARPG, but the advantage of PoE being free is you can flip back and forth depending on your mood. D3's great if you just want to zone out and put on music and let numbers get better no big deal, and PoE is if you want to autistically plot out how to get the most health nodes and jew children out of their orbs.
reminder that "diablo 1 mode" is nothing more than a 16 level level rift with d3's corvus/cave/cathedral tilesets dressed up with a stupid "retrovision" filter and minor palette swaps and not in any way a 1:1 recreation.
further reminder its also a limited time thing that only happens every january
also some kind of pet
