Planning on playing Diablo 1 with a friend soon. Any tips or recommended classes for a fun time? My only experience with these kinds of games is Dungeon Siege and Torchlight 2.

skip to diablo 2. It's more polished, and more fun to play with friends.

I keep hearing about Diablo 1 is less about loot whoring and closer to roguelikes so I'm more interested in that one.

Play 1 then 2, both are fun. D1 has amazing atmosphere

i always preferred diablo1 despite its obvious flaws. diablo2 is great, but i liked the more darker, sinister atmosphere of 1 way better.

The concept is so fucking simple yet it does so much. I want more games like this. Not overloaded and incoherent games without a proper identity.

Yeah, 1 is definitely more roguelike-like.

I would recommend taking your time at the start of the game, especially if you take the sorcerer. You're very weak at the beginning of the game but if you build correctly you'll be a killing machine by the time you reach Hell.
