there have been multiple threads where Sup Forums praises doom 3. most of Sup Forums at this point is kids who grew up during 6th gen so this shouldnt be a surprise

There are always SOME people that praise Doom 3 in the threads, but that doesn't mean "Sup Forums likes it." There are also always people explaining why it's boring and lame.

I think some people give Doom 3 a pass because it's got things that seem oldschool like medpacks and more than two weapons, even though the movement is slow, the weapons are weakass, and the encounter design is zzzzzzz with 2-5 enemies spawning around you and almost no interesting setups or combinations.

I don't give a shit what anyone says , I played this game and i was 15 and I loved it and I'll never forget it , the game may be shit by modern standards or compared to the first two Doom games but the FUN was real

doom 3 was fun and the graphics are still pretty stunning today, though it largely comes down to the lighting (or lack thereof).
it is absolutely unlike the originals as everyone knows and it's really the start of a new id that made such ~story games~ as quake 4, and then epic rolls in with ut3 and gears of war - all of which are good games, but compared to their precursors of the same series are really not appealing to their original consumerbase at all.
your typical run-n-gun fps is mostly forgotten but i have hope that the new serious sam will be good, serious sam 3 was really the doom 3 of the series and i think they took huge cues from id in a similar way as epic megagames.

i liked doom 3. i played it and the co-op expansion, and it was fuckin scary for baby-me when it came out, and it was pretty good fun recently. the final boss is an embarrassment but honestly all fps final bosses are. i can't think of any that aren't.

As usual Sup Forums gets angry and mad as hell because they had no friends. You can play Open Co-op on PC too so there's no excuse.
