T

I haven't played this game in forever.
Time to hook the wee yuu back up

i like this game
it was a generally enjoyable experience

>-st

Why yes, thank you, OP.
I wholeheartily agree with you.

Hopefully it comes to the Switch, cause I'm probably never going to get a Wii-U

Games with a story component can never be fun, because the narrative will always be shit compared to a film or novel. JRPGs are such a crap genre

>Terrible music
>poor online implementation, constant disconnects, missions are less than a few minutes
>Quests are repetitive, boring and entirely based on a MMO style; even story quests offer the same shit with little variation
>The animations are stiff and terrible on all the characters, even the dubbing is poorly done
>THe manon voices
>The mech combat, waiting for cooldowns is fun
>Exploring entirely removed the moment you get flying
>The shitty areas like Cauldros
>The terrible terrible writing, holy fuck
>Those quests where you have to save a cat before humanity
>THE FUCKING ENDING
>The twists, the bosses, everything is handhled so poorly, even Lao's betrayal.
>Not a single likable character, even Alma is fucking lying to you and teasing what the life hold is
>Nothing happens for 90% of the game
>It has no world building, it's simply tacked on light changes to progress story like making a water treatment plant
>Classes are almost entirely useless post getting mechs
>Despite all the itemization you do, the Ares can basically kill any late game boss in a few charges; ie the end game is non-existant
>Grind grind grind, what the game is made off
>Affinity in its entirety, its an awful system

so you didn't play the game, huh?

Fanboy in denial

You're kidding me right OP

This game was such a letdown. It's clear that the devs think that an amazing title simply means: Beautiful Open World, and 100 hours worth of content.

The problem is that content is booorrrrriinnngg, with far too many mundane quests and artificial grinding walls, not to mention a rather dull story.

I loved the game overall, but the combat system is MMO-level crap.

This was my favourite game of 2015, despite the flaws. Fucking loved it. even the weird-looking girl joking about eating Tatsu grew on me and I liked the soundtrack too

I've never played a game that made me feel so vulnerable, that's what really clicked with me I think.

I wouldn't call it "objectively" good, but I liked it quite a lot. Can't wait to see what Monolith does next.

I've had an interesting history with the Xenoblade series.

>get the first game on release and try getting into it, but I'm a dumbass kid just out of middle school so I get stuck on Xord and drop the game
>about a month before X's release, realize I should try to beat the first game because X looks cool
>get to Sword Valley when X comes out
>play the hell out of X, rushed to get a flying Skell then got bored and dropped the game
>last month I'm looking for shit to play so I pick up my playthrough of the first game again and finish it
>just restarted my save file in X last week and now I'm going through the game slower (doing every affinity mission)
I'm fucking addicted to it, it's so good.

>grinding in a game with one mirrion quests

Any other final boss that have about 5 different phases to go through?

I lost my shit at Chimera Soldier phase thinking that's it.

Uncontrollable =/= You Will Know Our Names

The only terrible music was the town.

>YEAH YEAH YEAH, UNH UNH!

>WOOOOO~

>The terrible terrible writing, holy fuck
I actually think it's better than games in which script is more important than gameplay such as the order and uncharted honestly. That is at least if you can ignore potato jokes every 5 minutes.

I love the first xenoburrito but X is awful. story, quests, music, characters, you name it. all pale in comparison to the original

TATSU NOT FOOD

Mia pleasures old men for money.

Mia got intensively probed by lesbian shapeshifting sexbots.

I didn't like the combat so I just stopped playing

>terrible music
Worst post on Sup Forums at the moment
youtube.com/watch?v=ePypW6n1egQ

Kek, literal shit compared to the XC1 and would've been disappointment of the year 2015 if MGSV didn't exist.

And she liked it.

Are there any other jrpgs that are as immersive as the xeno games? Especially ones that can hook you as easily

>he didn't post the original

How do you fuck up this badly, user?

Post your operative

>Linlee and blondie have the same hair just different colors

Whoops, that was the wrong picture.

This game was such a shift form XC that I can understand why fans of the first aren't fans of the second, but I really like the strange direction it took. I much prefer the futuristic approach rather than the mystic approach. I don't prefer the music, but I don't think XBX's OST is particularly bad. I think it's an alright JRPG, I just wish it wasn't bloated to hell.

>boring, repetitive combat system
>terrible story progression
>uninteresting two dimensional characters

...

Great game, but very flawed

Hello?

Is this thing on?

OH GOD CANDLE JACK IS BA

Why the fuck were the party systems scattered all over the fucking city?
Who thought this was a good idea?

I had missed this game

It was kind of annoying but at least they were marked on the map and pretty much all of them have fast travel points nearby.

I get depressed thinking about how I'll never be able to play this game for the first time again.

>I CAN'T HEAR YOU
>I CAN'T SEE YOU
>HOO HOO HOOOO

...

Is it memes you're looking for?

I think I lost a skell somehow? It's the one you first get. Any idea how that may have happened?

I wish tank tops were actually useful in combat with how many they gave you.

Nevermind I remember. You lose them when you die right?

go to blade barracks, the monitor that allows you to change the rooms lighting and colours and its under skell hangar.

If its the first time it got wrecked just go to your BLADE console and your insurance will give you a new one.

If your skell gets blown up, you get a B prompt. If you perfect it, your insurance will give you a free skell no questions asked, if you miss the outer layer or fail it completely, your insurance will give you an identical one up to three times for free and then for a massive fee every time after that. You can go reclaim your lost skells at the terminal inside the barracks

i like this game
but the letters are so tiny i can't read them from my bed, so i never play it

Get out of your skell before it dies and you wont lose it . If you do go back to the barracks where you register skells and it will be back. Each skell comes with a certain amount of insurance that will replace it before you have to start dishing out cash. This is why you should always get out before it dies if you can.

You must be thinking of the first game because I had that same problem until I got a bigger TV.

I'll agree I wasn't fond of the story or ending as much as XC1, and the emphasis on multiplayer was unneeded, but I like the game as whole and enjoyed it.

Yes thank you! I forgot all about it.
Turns out I have more skells than I thought.

Nah, it's the second one
It's also literally unplayable on the controller

If you perfect the exit prompt you don't lose an insurance ticket. The AI always perfects that prompt so when your skell gets down to its last ticket, just pass it down to a teammate and buy yourself a new one. That's how I eventually outfitted my team with Skells.

...

Literally false. I literally played 80% of it on the controller because my parents use the TV a lot and had no problem.

...

You fucked up your bait, OP it should have been
>objectively good jRPG's don't exist anymo-

Don't worry, I'll make the thread next time and you can just leave the shitposting to me ;)

Just wear them as fashion armor

...

My character is H.B., but black.
I wish I was joking

He's right though, if they didn't use lyrics, the music would have been 100 times better. Instead it was a custerfuck.

>The mech combat, waiting for cooldowns is fun
>'I only use super weapons with one minute cool downs and no augs because I'm a thundering faggot!'
This nigger doesn't know the job of endless macross missile masscuring.

Your character looks like mine

>Having squad member achievement prompts and controls hints on
For what purpose?

>H.B

Literally why?

I liked the lyrics, it gave the soundtrack a lot of personality. Same reason I liked Nier's soundtrack so much.

>Don't Worry
>Wir Filegen
>Good

The fact you couldn't shut off your flight back the the second your feet left the ground was the biggest mistake. When my save got corrupted and I had to start over I made during the flight mission the last possible thing.

If you want to make a point, you should try posting a good JRPG, OP.

It was unintentional, I just made a character that resembled me as close as possible... and apparently I am H.B. with a darker skin tone.

Same. It gives a lot of personality to it in general.

>Noctilum Day
>ONE BY ONEEEEEEEEE

Noctilum was a fucking 10/10 area once I found that bigass hollow tree and heard that at the top.

>implying
Its cool if you have shit taste, dont worry about the future its all right.

I think Dont Worry is an okay song but I wish there was an option to turn it off because I'd rather hear the BGM for the different areas

>He'd rather listen to a shitty song than the continent themes.
It's nice you admit you have shit taste to everyone

>sneaking through a LV50 Ganglion base while being >LV20
>about to reach the objective
>WIND BLOWS HARD IN DECEMBER

It added bloat that only serves to distract since music is supposed to serve only as a means to support what is going on on the screen. The moment you hear lyrics your brain is going to divide its attention to comprehend what is said and thus it diminishes the entire experience.

Thinking lyrics in video games is a good thing might as well be put in the same boat with people who think a 'cinematic' experience is acceptable.

>Terrible music
I actually really grew to love it, but thats my opininion.
>poor online implementation, constant disconnects, missions are less than a few minutes
No denying that. Though I think it's in part due to hardware limitations, we'll have to see what they do in the future.
>Quests are repetitive, boring and entirely based on a MMO style; even story quests offer the same shit with little variation
I've never played an MMO, but I'm tired of this "HURR OFFLINE MMO" meme. Who cares?
And the story/affinity missions were pretty satisfying compared to every other open world game I've ever played.
>The animations are stiff and terrible on all the characters, even the dubbing is poorly done
Fair enough.
>The manon voices
Yeah. The prone are awful too.
>The mech combat, waiting for cooldowns is fun
Foot combat is better, but I didn't really have a problem with skell combat.
>Exploring entirely removed the moment you get flying
I thought this at first, but then I learned: JUST DONT USE THE FUCKING ROBOT, IS IT SO HARD?
>The shitty areas like Cauldros
Nigga what? I was expecting Cauldros to be a generic fire level, but the ruins were great and the atmosphere at night with the pitch black sky and bright orange horizon was goat.

(cont.)

I CANT HEAR YOU

I CANT SEE YOU

A cinematic experience is acceptable though

(cont.)

>The terrible terrible writing, holy fuck
Seemed par for the course as far as JRPGs are concerned.
>Those quests where you have to save a cat before humanity
Who cares?
>THE FUCKING ENDING
I agree, blatant sequel-bait when we probably will never have a direct sequel.
>The twists, the bosses, everything is handhled so poorly, even Lao's betrayal.
I thought they were fine.
>Not a single likable character, even Alma is fucking lying to you and teasing what the life hold is
I don't think they're as terribad as people make them out to be, but they are pretty mediocre.
>Nothing happens for 90% of the game
Didn't bother me, but OPINIONS.
>It has no world building, it's simply tacked on light changes to progress story like making a water treatment plant
It does though, through side quests and environment design. I will admit that more would've been nice, like stuff about the ruins on Cauldros, etc.
>Classes are almost entirely useless post getting mechs
JUST DONT USE THE FUCKING ROBOT, IS IT SO HARD?
>Despite all the itemization you do, the Ares can basically kill any late game boss in a few charges; ie the end game is non-existant
JUST DONT USE THE FUCKING OP ROBOT, IS IT SO HARD?
>Grind grind grind, what the game is made off
Fair enough, atleast for the postgame.
>Affinity in its entirety, its an awful system
I liked it.

All in all it's one of my favorite games of all time.

That's fucking dumb. What the fuck argument are you trying to make?

Then go play Sony movies. This thread is for video games.

I like all kinda of games, user

Going slow is the best way to play it, trust me.
I had 120 hours when I finally beat the game, and enjoyed every second of it.
Don't rush to get the robot, foot exploration is worlds better anyway.
That being said, flying for the first time is one of the best moments in recent vidya memory.

I'm saying your a retard, and having the industry push back MIDI was the biggest mistake for the video game music industry.

There's a reason XBC's soundtrack shits all over XBCX and it's not just because Sawano is a complete hack.

Curious, I'm playing through Xenoblade now, and I'm wondering where the second game takes place. Like, after the first or?

Funny as I'm a bout to finish it. It sucks that I couldn't fully enjoy XCX though. With rpgs I usually try to complete every quest I come across as soon as I get it but with XCX no way could I manage that. The quests have for the most part been completely boring and annoying multi part quests that the writing couldn't save.

For the plus points I atleast enjoyed exploring, but the world is so huge there was no way I would be able to properly appreciate each area randomly tucked away. It was really cool finding them though.

Either waaaaaaaay after or in a parallel dimension where the events of the original Xenoblade are nothing but the Nopon's myth of creation.

wow is the game glitched or does the model look that bad in that position

Kek

they don't

The combat is Shit and the mechanism combat is even worse. Even the first game had bad combat but they somehow made it even worse in x. Enjoy your shitty single player mmorpg.

totally agree. I enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii so much more
