Hear people spend 3000+ hours on this game

>hear people spend 3000+ hours on this game
>finally start it up for the first time
>within the first 30 minutes can't shake the feeling that I'm playing a fallout mod in the mountain with swords

Uninstalled after 1 hour. I don't know how to explain it, I just feel like all Bethesda games are the same now. Like I could see right through the game and see the AI making decisions in exactly the same manner as fallout.

How do people enjoy this?

When it's your first Bethesda game, it's pretty enjoyable.

Infinite cop-outs and excuses for every elder scrolls game being total dogshit with empty worlds and atrocious gameplay.

Can you name a less empty open world of that size?

Can you ask a meaningful question?

>swing giant warhammer over tiny archer elf
>it passes right over the model
>does fixed damage
>model doesn't react because I didn't break the stagger threshhold
>hp sponge archer pulls knife
>I walk backwards in a diagonal direction
>AI can't figured out how to get to me
>chases me in straight lines and can never hit me
>swing massive warhammer again but this time at knees
>hp sponge elf model doesn't react
>The hp is removed from the enemy
>twice I've hit this little elf with a warhammer the size of her torso and twice she hasn't reacted at all except for losing hp
>this
>this is the combat that people love the TES series for

Fucking how?

right now im farming this necromancer on legendary
>sneak up behind him and hit him
>remove tiny bit of hp gain level and run away
>he doesnt into the hallway so wait untill im hidden again
>repeat and he heals himself
>level 60 sneak at level 10 now

See, no answer.

...

Nobody likes the combat

each generation is smarter but has less imagination than the one before. this game exploits this fact of human existence.

Skyrim was my first Bethesda game, I really enjoyed it but as a consequence I could not get into any of the fallout games because it felt like the same game with a different skin.

I can see how people might enjoy it for a few hundred hours, and even that kind of baffles me. You have to specially NOT do things since you can do everything in the game. There is no reason to do multiple run throughs since nothing really changes. I mean I guess you could go bow + sneak vs greatsword vs magic user. But you can't really make different decisions.

World just felt extremely bland and lifeless to me. Didn't help that almost every quest took me into yet another underground dungeon.

this game is actually good. I don't see what people's problem with it is. Then I remembered these are the same people that called Oblivion a bad game.

you should try Enderal

wow you're a nigger

Download Leveler's Tower mod and bypass all the leveling for things that should've been present from the start like decapitation.

>He doesn't realize you can get level 100 sneak before even leaving Helgen
>He doesn't realize you can start the game at like level 25 with max sneak before leaving Helgen

Though it's kind of stupid to abuse that trick because you can get max sneak and just one shot everyone with assassination takedowns, stealth was so disgustingly broken in Skyrim. It was fun to play, but easy mode as fuck.

I had more fun playing a Warrior class, or like a Battlemage. Going into battle wielding sword and shield, or sometimes I'd mix it up and do magic and sword but either way it was way more enjoyable than "Psssh nothing personal kid" playstyle.

How does that make it any better? It's still empty.

>room mate tries Oblivion
>gets hit, is staggered
>is literally screaming at the television "WHY CAN'T I HIT YOU WHAT THE FUCK I DON'T UNDERSTAND"
>like literally screaming

He's finally getting into it but like every day I had to tell him to cut his shit out.

That's why nobody reacts to damage any more.

>fallout mod
The 3D Fallout games are just an oblivion mod with ruined buildings and guns

It's like no matter what class you play it feel like the same shit all over again.

Dunno how to explain it.

You want to level sneak?
>find sneak trainer
>spend all your gold on training
>pickpocket it back off them
>repeat

Honestly, the most boring game in the fuck series, how did everyone not just rush through it and drop it? I dont ever remember feeling this way playing Oblivion or Morrowind, why does this game feel like one big auto pilot bros?

>why does this game feel like one big auto pilot bros?
Because streamlining only works until a certain point. Then that happens.

literally the only good thing about bethesda games is fap mods

people have low standards, that's why a shit game like skyrim is praised so much

I want to play Skyrim but dont feel like modding it? I just want to be immersed while having a deadly combat mod which doesnt make all enemies bullet sponges and a non shitty skill system. What do?

I just want an answer to the question, it seems no one can answer it.

>Please respond.

Same way I felt, I had to force myself to play it and I was bored all the way through. The only redeeming quality for me are the snowy mountains and that's it, everything else sucks ass.

Not gonna lie, I had my share of enjoyment out of Skyrim, it might not have been the greatest thing ever, but it had it's moments. Fallout 4 on the other hand is a mess.

>get some combat mods
>get some rape mods
>decent combat, decent fapping

all in all i finally found a use for this game being in my library

too bad every custom follower or npc mod is ass

does skyrim SE have good mods out yet

it was my first Bethesda game and it was pretty shitty

I honestly found it pretty fun.

Most people i know only say the game is boring because they treat it like every other open world game. They run around and play as "themselves" doing whatever and slogging through any random quest they find.

Basically they're playing it wrong. TES is meant to be played like a pend and paper RPG. You make up your own plotline and back story for your character and play by those preset self made rules. The games are a lot more fun with you play them that way, same goes for the recent fallout games.

Finally someone that understands

>i-if you dont like it you're playing it wrong
this is why no one likes you faggots. If you're supposed to roleplay why are you not allowed to make a single meaningful decision in this game? Why can't I tell the blades to fuck themselves when they ask me to kill the dragonbro? Why can't I behead the bitch for being a self righteous cunt and deal with the consequences?

Well I mean, Fallout 4 is a skyrim mod with guns and too many bells and whistles.
And I think Skyrim SE runs on the FO4 engine, so it could be called a mod. So its gone full circle, and we're no longer going to have decent bethesda games because they've got a giant fucking ego that no matter what trash they make people will buy it and eat it up.
Give the elder scrolls to Obsidian though and shit will get done.

You're just a low class pleb.

What is better about Skyrim running the FO4 engine?

>same goes for the recent fallout games.

Ah yes, the game where your only choices are

>Yes
>Yes, with sass
>Yes, reluctantly
>No (Yes)

But you can tell them to go fuck themselves since theres no voicing. Just tell them to wait and internally say 'Yeah fuck off, if I get bored I'll deal with your shit. Theres thievery to do'
You can behead random people, or at least kill them if you don't like mods. Even mods to make everyone killable.
And you just roleplay with what you got, like you have to in damn near every RPG, even tabletops. Just like you're limited in roleplaying in bethesda games you're limited by settings in tabletops. Just the nature of it.

no, skse is not even out yet for it. se wont even be serviceable till well into next year, mainly thanks bethshit obfuscating so much.

>No (Yes)

kek

Performance and ripping off mods that made it look better.
Mind you if you got a good PC you don't need to bother, mods make the game look better than the special edition does, has other gameplay mods already there, and has bug fixes available since fucked if bethesda will ever consider the notion of fixing games themselves.
Though on steam its free if you bought all the DLC, has all the DLC, and if you don't have a great PC will probably run better while looking ok. Mods will take a while to get good though I'd bet.

>playing oblivion
>can get 100 stealth in the first cell

It makes sense in fallout, that's the only similar case. Maybe witcher 3? You can't talk to everyone in that.

I stop playing everytime because of the combat. It's so fucking shit. And no, mods do not help.

No Wildcat, no Deadly Combat, no Mortal Combat, nothing can help the combat. All they do is add timed blocking and shitty damage multipliers. In the end all you're doing is wacking away at an enemy while they're whacking at away at you, and see who whacks the fastest/hardest.

Awful.

What does Wildcat do?

Same shit as all the rest. Injuries, increased damage, you move slow as fuck with a weapon etc.

The fuck? really? how? Wouldnt the asshat blades be staring at you the whole time until you stood "OVER BY THE WINDOW"?

Is this game worth playing with mods? I like fallout, but I've never got into any of the elder scrolls.

Heard nothing but bad things so I've always avoided it. But theres so many mods out nowadays, it's got to make it somewhat enjoyable, right?

Not that guy, but I think you can repeatedly go out of sight to re-stealth?

Don't bother with it for at least a year.

It's gonna take a fucklong time to transfer all the good mods over, let alone take advantage of the 64-bit engine. For now stick to vanilla, theres little difference until they somehow create crazy civil war mods or something with hundreds of npc's.

Watch some gameplay and decide for yourself. I enjoy it, it's not the greatest game series ever like some hype it up to be but if you enjoy Fallout I don't see why you wouldn't like TES. There's more to do in TES games.

Of all the terrible decisions by Todd, it's the lack of a class system that tops them all (voiced pc might be vying for that position though). Skyrim's leveling system is an example of how too much freedom is a bad thing.

In Oblivion, you genuinely felt like a Thief from the beginning because you specialized in that class's specific skills. It was difficult to level any other skill, but if you put enough time and effort, you could potentially master every skill. The Thieves Guild actually at least required skill in lock picking and sneaking to be competent at the quest lines

In Skyrim, you don't start out as really anything, and you slowly and vaguely turn into a "stealth man" around level 15. And then you can completely change your play style but still somehow master it incredibly quickly. None of the quests or guilds care what you're able to do except for a shitty initiation ritual.

>to join the Mages guild, you had to be sponsored by several chapter leaders around Cyrodill through quests and rituals that prove your worth as a Mage
>to join the College of Winterhold, the most prestigious and secretive public magic organisation in Skyrim, you just had to cast a level 2 fire spell
Fuck you Todd, FUCK YOU

>cheat

Do tell I remember when they "patched" the one where you could ask the elf about why maven's blackbria beer wsa the greatest for infinite speech skill gains

I would like to try something that made it play like a fast-paced fps game. Make all the enemis fragile as hell but do a lot of damage. shift the game focus towards projectile based magic. add some better, easy-to-acquire movement abilities.

increase the enemy coujnt a lot as well (ASIS can do this bit already)

Survival mods really made this game for me.
Nothing like getting ambushed by a frost troll while seeking shelter from a snowstorm.

It's kind of similar to seeking shelter during blowouts in STALKER.

skyrim's graphics and world with dragon's dogma combat and boss fights would have been the best game ever

I personally think anyone who cares bout video game lore should be put against the wall and shot until they turn into a bloody mess.

Never played Star Ocean Till the End of Time I see

I can't kill the blades bitch without mofs though and if I do use mods to make her non-essential it locks me out of an alternative conclusion to the story. I also can't whip out my dick and piss on her shoes and see where that leads. In pen and paper games you're only limited by your imagination because the narrative and the rules are both flexible. You cant do this in Skyrim so it's strictly inferior to pen and paper if you want to create your own adventure.

playing fallout 4 first was your mistake you fucking bandwagoner

People have low standards.

When all you've ever eaten was shit, shit with sprinkles seems like a delicacy.

It's aimed towards casual normies who have never played a proper RPG and have no clue what makes an RPG good in the first place, so what did ya expect?

you and OP are mirrored opposites
