It's easier to do then having your actor say a bunch of random crap repeatedly. Keep in mind that, while it's noticable with the moocho shaka paka, a lot of the repeated dialog a lot of people, well the average person, was something that the player probably wasn't paying attention to.

I did like how, because of naming limitations, your name was only ever said by people who don't speak galactic basic or whatever "not-english" was in Star Wars.

Revan isn't dead, he's caught and mind raped by the Emperor (Vitali if I recall his name) and then he's freed by you. Turns out the Emperor wanted that, because he drove Revan fucking insane, and Revan wants to kill anyone with Sith blood.

That's like 80% of the Empire or some such, and many Republicans, so essentially it's genocide. You kill his ass. He splits into an evil and a good half, his evil half goes even more fucking batshit and takes over a cult. You re-combine them(????) or some shit I had a fever dream at this point and then he dies.

Also the Exile is canon female, gets killed by a guy who is immortal and can't see colours and force ghosts around doing very little.

I want to add though, that as bullshit as Revan was in that, the lead up to both fights were actually pretty cool moments. In the first you can basically either tell Revan that you're a better Jedi than he was (which is saying something, because the Imperials kill him) or just point out he's having a tantrum. In the second you fight with a bunch of major characters against him.

That said both actual fights are kind of eh.

don't somuch mind the canonized female exile, did wind up rolling female in KoTOR2 but hell I liked the mystery of not really knowing what happened to either of them and kind of hoped swtor left them both alone lol

I don't particularly hate it, but I always felt that male felt more fitting. Thing is, a lot of people seem to forget KOTOR3 was (according to one of the developers or writers or some shit, people post it a lot) going to be about uncovering the mystery anyway.

It is very stupid though. I mean I'm leaving out that there are good moments in both questlines and the reveals themselves, but mostly it just seems so stupid. Plus Revan looks like fucking Anders from DA2. He also ACTS like fucking Anders in 2.

I actually liked parts of SWTOR. The gameplay was shit, though, and god knows over half of the stories were bullshit. The expansions range from what the fuck to burn it on site, and Bethesda outplayed everyone by setting up a grand episodic storyline only to say "SEE YOU NEXT SEASON"

And yet. I still defend parts of it. I am the very model of an abused housewife.

I just started skipping the mucha shaka pakas and KKKAAAAAHHHS as soon as I realised it's the same 4-5 lines repeated over and over.

If you've ever been around people who speak a language you don't know, that's how it sounds. The gibberish they speak blurs into a mess. You'll notice certain words and phrases repeated, because they're common, but you still won't know what they mean or what the context is.

Make a big deal about energy shields and its impact on warfare, play up how kolto is different to bacta, show how ships and weapons are less advanced. I think the comic series focused on it a lot.

Didn't those comics have square guns and such? It's been a while since I read them, but I remember some of the older era ones looked a hell of a lot like star trek.

Empire at War was pretty good and there wasn't a single lightsaber to be seen.

I mean, sure, the ground combat was really shit. But space combat was fun.

Classic old republic era still has lightsabers and blasters, things are just more fantasy rather than sci-fi.

There were lightsabers, though, considering Darth Vader and Luke were in the game. I always liked Forces of Corruption and that Arthas-looking guy.

They did use a lot more swords in KOTOR.

But then all those swords had a freaky cortosis weave that could block fucking lightsabers. Apparently it then took thousands of years for the empire to try making armor for their dark troopers with cortosis in it. And then they fucked that up and failed to stay canon.
