Let's remember, it's been in development for 10 years. That's 10 years to implement, refine and perfect ideas. No video game has been developed for this long. There is almost no way that this isn't going to be the most polished and content filled video game ever made. Yet, still, people are trashing it and saying it's "boring" without having even played it.

So why is this? Is it meaningless shitposting or is there something I have missed?

And no, the all-male party is not a legitimate complaint.

It finally started to sink in that this game is shit with people. They caught up, really late though.

10 years of development doesn't have to mean refinement. All I know is that they have been dissatisfied with their progress and result and scrapped most things. If it really was refined, then they didn't have to randomize most of the world and actually created a map which is thought out in every single detail. Graphics look shit while the models' hair look like they should be 4k 'cuz fuckin jagged. The gameplay appears to be boring and you get QTE's instead of a fucking awesome boss fight because muh casual pandering.

It's a failure among RPGs and Action games.

It's not an upgrade, it runs the games at a lower framerate to deliver a more cinematic experience. Remember those times when the framerate started going over 30 and your head started aching? Sony is releasing the Pro as a remedy for this. They know what's up, 's 4 the players.

I wasn't saying FF6 was deep but I'm saying that to me it was a lot more entertaining than -insert open world wannabe even easier Kingdom Hearts here- because that is exactly what those demos were like.

What the fuck is frame time
Never got it, want to finally understand it.

It measures framerate stability, as opposed to just frames per second. So it accommodates for variations in the framerate at different times, to give you a more accurate benchmark.

It is the time it takes for the system to draw a given frame and put it on screen, timed from when the last frame was shown. So it's the time between frames.

As in a really bad frame time could be for example one frame of a sword swing being stuck on screen for half a second and the rest of the animation in that second being like on fast forward? Also lel there are 4 XV threads in the catalog right now

Bad frametime/framepacing leads to some frames staying on screen way longer than others which makes it look like stutter or slowdowns, same happens in Bloodborne or DS3

It's useful for finding performance issues for specific things in QA for developers, but for consumers an averaged FPS is probably the more useful figure.

Bloodborne is solid 30fps. There is no frame lag.

Nyx should have been the protagonist.

That has to be backed up with more though, I never finished FF8 but I know that Cloud was pretty fucking insane behind that face value tough guy persona, and that in itself too a while to resolve. Whereas Nyx seemed pretty stable all around and just wanted to do right.

Nyx was "solid", but as a protagonist he might've turned out to be pretty bland in the long run without any further twists in his development.
