Gwent

Who else got in the beta?

Talk about the game here, the /vg/ general is cancer. Also patch coming in 2 days, all leaders chanced to epic from legendary and more unannounced card balance changes.

Isn't Gwent pretty much pay to win tcg? Like we'd need more of those at this point, but each to their own I'd guess.

>Isn't Gwent pretty much pay to win tcg?
So far I played I have to say it's one of the least p2w digital card games. Plus they are very generous with the packs, like 3 packs for 1 to 1 and a half hours of play time a day.

Never played the witcher 3 but the standalone is nothing like the minigame.

desu Gwent is the only TCG I have my high hopes for.
maybe CDPR is the right company to pull a game like this where its really easy to be greedy and start asking for a lot of money to gamble for things you might not get.

Is it worth getting into Gwent if I still haven't played TW3?

Why wouldn't it be?

Is it worth getting into hearthstone if you havent played warcraft?

No

No, because HS is fucking RNG cancer incarnate.

Is Gwent any better on the actual player skill front?

The player skill needed in Gwent is different than most magic/magic clones/TCGs/CCGs. The skill relies mostly on hidden information rather than execution whereas in magic it's the other way around with hidden information playing a lesser role than execution.

The skill set needed to be good is more akin to poker than Magic or Hearthstone, the play that will net you the most points (thus logically getting you closer to victory) is not always the best/optimal one. It's different and solely for that reason it has my personal interest as a card game fan.

Played few games and I don't remember seeing any rng cards or they were really rare.
Though I bet there will be RNG accusations once open beta starts because your deck has 25 to 40 cards yet you only draw 10 at the start then 3 then 2 then 1 after each turn which will make some shitters cry hard.

Did you really not see the point I was trying to make?
I dont care if you like HS or not.
You dont need to play Warcraft to play HS

I find it easier to identify how cards work together, and construct a deck around 1 or 2 mechanics.

For instance, I have a Scoia'Tel Ambush deck which is used to obstruct my opponent. If they sent off my fire traps, they spawn Commando Neophyte cards. Placing ambush cards will also buff my elven wardancer cards.

Then if I have a decent draw (and the base ST leader allows you to redraw 6 cards instead of 3), I might get 2 particularly useful cards. One card will consume ever special card in my graveyard and play a Commando Neophyte for each one. The other card will discard every commando neophyte on the battlefield and damage every of my opponents non-gold cards by 1 for every Neophyte discarded.

If I draw those cards, it's basically the big fuck you to my opponent. If I don't draw them the ambush cards and buffs are still easily capable of winning the game for me.

The only RNG thing I really don't like is the Monster Neutral ability which lets you keep a random card on your side of the field.

It can both win you games outright and on the other hand doesn't really mesh well with the playstyle of monsters which have a lot of swarming in most of their playstyles not to mention it promotes the same optimal first round of Gerald/Eredin+Ciri if you have her. It's just weird.

I hope they fix Scoia'Tel, as it stands its the weakest faction by a country mile. I don't even remember the last time I lost to one and I believe a lot of the reason why is that their starting leader is also the weakest among the factions.

>Bait out the opponent in the first or second round while winning the other by a close margin
>Shit on him with 120+ to 20 in the third
>Every single game
OHOHOHO

>Opponent is so retarded they scorch themselves.

The reason I main then is because they're honestly the most versatile deck. I can make a deck based around ambush cards, or around special cards and hawkers, or around commando neophytes, or around dwarves.
When you go up against a ST player it's very difficult to know what to expect. The main weakness of the SC deck is that most of their unit cards start off at a strength of 2 or 3, making them incredible easy to wipe out in 1 go with a lacerate or any other damage dealing card.

Skellige would be the second most versatile deck.

I honestly feel bad for them when that happens.

>Scorch myself
>Play the rest of the match with tears in my eyes
>Opponent sends me a GG

Even my worst MTG or HS match never brought me as much shame as scorch alone.
Holy fuck why is it even in my deck.

I never used Scorch when playing Gwent for this very reason.

I have scorch in my monster deck alone. The only reason being my monster deck is built around muster and the only card to get buffed above 10 might be the foglet that gets 1 point at the start of every turn while fog is active.

Chances are very low that I'll accidentally self-scorch.

I think every faction has 2 or 3 deck types available from the start (NR being the weakest in this regard) but the problem with ST is that all of their options are not at all durable.

Traps are easy to play around, Hawkers are so fragile I can't begin the count the times I scorched or rained a 30+ hawker to have my opponent quit, neophyte doesn't have a lot of support but even then it has the same problems most swarm decks have and dwarfs just lack bombs AND I believe is the most expensive to deck to make from scratch.

It's just a shitshow all around.

But are there waifus? Lots of them.

I was excited for the game, but the new cards and rules are awful. Already uninstalled.

>dimeritium bomb

I got in the beta but I sold my key.
Easiest money of my life

How much for? I got 2 extra ones and the local nerds want to buy them.

atm they're worth next to nothing.
But when I sold them (the first day), I made 55€ (actually more, but then I had to pay fees)

>Weather card that affects golds

Most OP card in the game?

*sold it

It happened to me when I started because I sometimes overlooked the card I was aiming for was gold.

>signed up in june
>still havent gotten my code

it's fucking painful. Can anyone give me a spare code?

>wow fuck off faggot for begging
I know but I hope there are some kind anons out there

forgot to put email

Yes. It's bullshit.
Pick Monsters to win.

>all leaders chanced to epic from legendary
It's time

you can buy a key for like 3/4€ now

Hearthstone is better balanced.

I dunno man, I was losing as Northern Realms and Monsters every time I went vs Monsters. And then I started picking Skellige. It's great.

You mind if I sign you up for positivesingles.com? You wanna be called Pozbreeder69 or Fuccboi2016?

where? G2a?

NR is just the most susceptible to weather effects.

kinguin @ 1,27€ right now.

>hearthstone
>balanced

mfw the still crashes everytime i try opening a keg, how the fuck have the devs not even acknowledged this problem is beyond me

The overall best card has to go to Igni since he is neutral.

But yes, Philippa is a cunt like the actual Phillipa

play Shadowverse

I hate fucking card games. I would've fucking paid 30 bucks to have all the cards and the campaign from the get go. Not this shitty P2W scheme. Gwent is Witcher 3 was great. Just balance that and make it multiplayer. Is it really that fucking hard?

I played a dozen games and only one didn't have the game crashing during it. It is a real beta, but it is still annoying

>I hate fucking card games.
>Gwent is Witcher 3 was great.

Beauty of card games are opening up packs, if all cards were available to all players from the get go then people online would only use the same decks

>tfw 3 35 points adrenaline rushed poor infantry round 1 because my opponent did the old Monsters, drop Gerald and pass

MAKE TEMERIA GREAT AGAIN

Yeah I played the beta for a bout 4 games, and then realized this Gwent game is not the same game from TW3. It's not as fun it feels more like Hearthstone on a budget, and I honeslty don't like the RNG in Hearthstone. Gwent in TW3 was fun and the cards made it so that you could have interesting and funny plays. This Gwent game is not worth playing imho because the cards are not the same; now they have card silver and bronze card "like WTF"

It's fucking grindy trash
They not even giving any exp for just playing the match, only for wins and you have "levels" which gives you tiny amount of needed resource to craft the pack.
Fuck this shit game, seriously

>They not even giving any exp for just playing the match
You get 5 gold or dust even if you lose with the gg system tho and every day you get 2 levels from which every win gets you 15 dust or gold and when you get the level you get 100 gold.

That's close to 3 packs + 100 or so dust (epics cost 200 for reference) each day. That's is way way more generous than HS or even Shadowverse. Hell everyone is getting an extra pack when the patch drops in a couple of days just because.

>You get 5 gold or dust even if you lose with the gg system tho and every day you get 2 levels from which every win gets you 15 dust or gold and when you get the level you get 100 gold.

whaaa...

I played the new Gwent and honestly it's not worth playing even with all that shit you typed, which I got lost have way into reading

If you have about 200 hundred dollars to spend on the game, then sure.

>card names and flavor text is censored
