It's not 2010, nobody worships him anymore. Also, GOG is laughable, considering they've gone back on just about every promise they were founded upon.

What were those promises?

$1 = $1, which became a clusterfuck of international currencies getting screwed by exchange rates. No DRM, followed by Galaxy. Good Old Games, quickly covered up by more shit indie games that barely passed muster on Steam Greenlight, not to mention Early Access shit
That's not even bringing up CD Projeckts other skeletons with backtracing Witcher 2 pirates and purposely downgrading Witcher 3 for console parity (despite consoles never being a factor in the first two games' sales).

Colton Murphy
Only r/pcmasterrace tourist cucks worship this hack any more. Valve peaked with the orange box desu.
GOG is fine as long as you don't need to actually contact their customer support or something. I've contacted them twice and both times it was a rude as shit polack basically telling me it was my own problem and I should google it.
Brandon Harris
>Galaxy >not DRM
If I want to play an old game online, I've got to use their service, since virtually no alternatives exist besides Gameranger. Besides, the point is that they will eventually make bigger moves with it, which will lead to a more locked system akin to Steam.
Hunter Martin
this. there are no heroes left in today's world. Money and greed corrupted Gabe Newell, it corrupted those Polish whores and just watch Trump backpedal on EVERYTHING he said and promised and actually do a 180° and fuck over the 99% in favour of the 1% and the overlord kikes.
Juan Smith
>If I want to play an old game online, I've got to use their service, since virtually no alternatives exist Yeah, sucks that they'd offer you this service. It was truly better when you had no option at all.
>Besides, the point is that they will eventually make bigger moves with it, which will lead to a more locked system akin to Steam. By chance, does the source for this claim happen to be your ass?
Easton White
>Wants to have a large monopoly and consistently makes fun of GoG.
you mean the store EA is going to buy, with no exclusives and consistently higher prices than Steam?
Adam Green
>Yeah, sucks that they'd offer you this service. It was truly better when you had no option at all. you keep moving goalposts
I'm going to have to call you a marketer, and will start my gog marketer dump if you don't get the fuck out

I'm not the person you were arguing about it with. Gotta watch that IP tracker, user.
Also, way to not actually address anything I said.

I have no idea where this nonsense even came from. CDPR is pretty much the only video game company buying BACK their own stuck.

What happened to Valve over the last year or two?
TF2 released Meet the Pyro, SFM/GMOD YouTube community died, TF2 updates got thin, paid mods failed, Steam Sales suck now, Steam Machines flopped, and that was the last I heard of this guy.

Considering every metric disagrees, current players, total players, money made, stock offered.... wew laddy.

I never got why this is considered a legitimate complaint. Literally every online service has a clause about "if you don't agree to our demands we will lock you out of service".

that means their fucking logo and trademarks dipshit
Evan Sullivan
They make too much money, so they've grown incredibly lazy and complacent. They don't even need to make new games anymore with how much Dota 2, CSGO, TF2 and Steam itself makes for them in a minute basis.
Blake Adams
Nobody is saying Call of Duty peaked with infinite warfare.
Ian Campbell
Has tons of resources yet does nothing to bring games to PC, he could easily pay devs to bring their games to pc yet wastes them on shit like steam machines and controllers that no one wants.
Leo Green
All of that is just shit they bought, not things they made. The last game the real Valve dev team will have worked on is TF2, and they didn't even pretend to be remorseful about killing it to make microtransaction money.
Cooper Howard
I'm saying money isn't a metric for how good something is. Valve may be making more money now, but the only thing they're producing is maintenance updates for all their products. In terms of producing something new they're the worst they've ever been.
Chase Nguyen
They made the most successful platform for selling games, ever.
Jacob Lee
Source on him saying he doesn't believe in consumer rights.
He's a Jew but I don't remember seeing him say anything like that.
Wyatt Martinez
to be fair it was a matter of time before "no company hierarchy" structure came back to bite them in the ass. after all, why risk money with projects when you can tinker around in the office forever and get a regular salary for nothing.
Brayden Watson
You never said anything about "good", thats pure fucking opinion. I could argue valve was at its "best" when it came out with half life opposing force, and have it be just as relevant as your opinion.
You said "peaked" which is something else entirely.
Nolan Russell
Steam is on its way out.
Elijah Martinez
Huh. I wonder why your experience doesn't line up with mine.
>Pick up a game from GoG >Play it for 10 minutes >It sucks >Send them an email asking for a refund and actually tell them there's nothing wrong with the game, it just sucks >They give me a full on refund..
I've never had a problem with them whatsoever.
Isaiah Anderson
hence valve peaked as a dev a long time ago and has nothing else of value to offer
at this point it's even difficult to argue that they're a net positive since they're largely responsible for the success of crate microtransactions and unfinished EA shovelware
Ryder Morgan

David Moore
Finances have tangible, objective peaks. All other peaks are subjective at best.
John Sanchez
>There are other things than finances that have peaks.
Your right, you can peak and make no money, just by being well known. Or you can professionally peak with merits (most x done, best x done, etc)
The thing is, valve has not reached that peak really anywhere yet.
Objectively, orange box was the springboard, not the peak.
Jonathan Murphy
What the fuck are you talking about? There are insanely many options to choose from in order to play old games online. Everything from serial port/IPX emulators, to simply using the internal dosbox connectivity options.
For most games where you can input an IP address you can even just set up port forwarding on your own router to permit others to connect to your server. I played Die by the Sword like this, no problems.
If you're limited by your technical ineptitude, educate yourself. If you are limited by just being a lazy cunt, kill yourself.

Boo hoo, a company is trying to make money. I've never seen a marketplace that lets you sell shitty cosmetics for games, people who cry about Steam or Valve don't know what they're talking about and are too used to being fucked in the ass by companies like EA and Activision.
Jack Watson
This is insanely biased. I was reading this thread to see if you'd post anything interesting, but you failed to do so at every turn. Enjoy your (you).

Didn't Witcher 3 sell more on consoles? You'd have to be really insane not to bring out your game on console. PC exclusives are dead.
Cooper Nguyen
valve becoming shit been going on for 3-4 years depending on where you want to count where the fall starts 2012 introduced early access games
2013 they the stopped giving a fuck about quality control of games released on steam
Gabriel Hall
>3-4 years ayy lmao they've been fucking up everything since they made hl2 a tech demo I think gabe got fucking destroyed by the leak

You literally cannot lose your games on Steam.
You don't own anything. You're renting a license.
Oliver Bell
What leak?
Samuel Perez
I know that, I don't "own" any Steam games. But fags here have 1000+ games "on Steam".
Sebastian Perez
Which is why I pirate games instead and throw them on a flashdrive.
Steam doesn't offer anything I want. Steam is just videogames Facebook at this point.
Blake Stewart
hl2 beta iirc it was some german kid who got into gabes secret stash and grabbed it. then sent it to a friend and suddenly it was all over the interwebz.
Jacob Hill
Yup. He ended up costing Valve a ton of money and they tried to trick him into coming to the states to be arrested by the FBI by giving him a fake job offer.
Blake Fisher
Do you have a source other than your ass? It's considered a modification to the original product and, thus, falls under IP owners domain, i.e. the IP owner owns the crack.
Lincoln Gray
>Wants to have a large monopoly and consistently makes fun of GoG.
how? don't mean to start shit, I'm just curious
Julian Ramirez
and where are you supposed to find players to play with? a solution by the distributor is the best in that case.
Jaxson Martinez

See
It's literally a pirated copy of the game being sold. Even if you think that torrenting a game isn't against the law, selling pirate copies is most certainly illegal.
Hudson Gonzalez
So how come they are still in business then? Surely someone would've sued them in the 8+ years they've been selling these games...
