No

along with metroid fusion, yes

I'd say so

What gaem

Boktai is also pretty good.
I prefer DoS over AoS, though.

Minish cap is the best GBA game because it's the only one with mole mitts.

>preferring "sigil draw spam" over AoS
disgusting

The Boktai series is underrated AF

'no'

It's up there.

is this picture shit tier resolution on purpose?

>tfw Strider will never have a true comeback because arcade-style platformers are fucking dead
doesn't feel good man

Strider on ps4 is pretty damn fun, what are you talking about ?

Too much indie shit.

>that feel when you have loved the gba for years since its inception
>that feel when as years progress and you revisit gba games, you start to realize how fucking awful the audio/sound is for the gba system

It's so shitty. The quality is SO bad.

You don't even draw that many Sigils.
I for one like that you can just collect multiple stat souls to boost your stats instead of having to collect +2, +4, +6, +8, and +10 versions seperately. It let you unlock way more monster attacks and Dawn of Sorrow also had way more combinations that give you special effects and transformations. It's just too bad that it's far and away the easiest castlevania and you can't really make use of half the fun stuff you unlock.

Yes.

am I the only one to find Guacamelee overrated?

>tfw tried to like Dust but the furfag shit ruins the whole experience

Boktai is one of my favourite series of all time if you ignore the DS one.

Have some CIAs I made for 3DS owners.

It is at least among the best.

Yes

For chiptune-heavy soundtracks it's great, but the faux-orchestra music is fucking miserable.

Mega Man Battle Network is probably the only GBA series whose sound quality still endures

>no one posted this yet

yeah, there's probably a reason.

>Metroid 2
>good
>Strider
>meh
Fucking kill yourself, goddamn.

I just can't understand what people see in Strider. Exploring isn't fun, combat's not fun, the bosses aren't very good, and the whole thing lacks any challenge. It's the definition of "meh".

Literally the only problem with warioland 4 is it's a little too short

The game looks awesome but it's not even top 20 on the gba.

Fucking Shin'en.

Always getting more visual bang out of Nintendo systems than should really be possible.

Strider as a series is incredibly bland which is endlessly frustrating because he has probably the coolest design Capcom has ever made

Is it? Oh, I had just seen the change in style and assumed the worst. I guess user's pic also swayed me but people are calling it bullshit so I guess I'll give it a go

Iridion 3D had great graphics and sound... and shit everything else.

It's one of the best.

It's especially dickish because I remember it being flaunted at the time as it being just as good as the old 16-bit systems, something I was extremely impressed by at the time, with ports like the 16 bit mario games, final fantasy 4, 5 and 6, goemon 2, etc.

Nintendo even went out of their way to put good quality voice samples for Mario in those ports that just went the extra step to fool you that that was the case despite the quality being inferior. Pretty sneaky trick imo, it fooled tons of people still to this day.

>easy as shit shooter
>good

>inb4 "durr hurr touhoufag"

It's not short at all.

>it's not short
Are you fucking serious? 16 levels only, plus the controls are smooth as fuck (this is one of the pros, it's not a con) and because of this it's over too quickly.
Wario Land 2 had 50 levels, and the game was slower overall (less smooth controls, transformation sequences are longer etc).
If 4 was at least twice as long, it would be my favorite game ever.

Well yeah. Some of their games suffer from less than stellar... game.

While pic related was very impressive for a Wii Ware game visually, whether it was that great of a 3D platformer is debatable.

I enjoyed the Art of Balance games, though. Even if I ran out of content with them quite quickly.

...

Definitely in my top 3 gba games
If there were like 3 more of the areas in the temple it would be perfect imo

Man, the game has such an unique atmosphere.
>that music on the CDs
>that old professor who's always around in the bonus rooms
Objectively the best game in the series, although I can see why people prefer VB, 2 or 3.

The Final Fantasy remakes are up there. Specially with the added dungeons.

I liked the Art of Balance game on 3DS and was really surprised when I found out they were doing Fast Racing Neo. It was really hyped up as the new F-Zero game for people who can't wait for Nintendo to ressurect their own dormant franchise. Then FRN came out and I haven't heard a single thing about it because i don't have a WiiU.

I have a cartridge of it but have lost my gameboy.
Literally going to buy a gameboy on ebay next paycheck

Great idea

I actually have both FRN and the recent expansion pack.

Breddy good.

Particularly the expansion levels have a VERY F-Zero vibe to them, with upside-down and inside/outside tube tracks.

Great sense of speed and very very difficult. Generally great looking art.

But there are no characters in it, and the music ain't all that, so in the longer run, it doesn't have as much personality as F-Zero is known for.

I haven't played the online multiplayer much, so I wouldn't know how good that really is. But it seems stable, and people hand me my ass.

What the fuck is La Mulana doing in the trinity?
It's a literal guide game.

>Never really thought of Tomba as a Metroidvania, just a long-spanning platformer with shit to do!

Damn. It really -is- one now that I think about it. Fuck

That and zero mission definitely tied. Yoshis island would be my 2nd

I guess the music and characters were always a big part of F-Zero. My favourite racers are Gomar & Shioh, and the Big Blue theme is a classic.

...

>No Akuji the Demon in the list
Newfags allyall

>GBA thread
>No Mario and Luigi

for shame

>Ori
>Metroidvania
Sure you COULD go back to some previous areas, But the path layed out was linear as fuck.

It died a few times in the first 10 or 20 minutes then it became piss easy after 1 or 2 powerups. Last boss had an annoying gravity gimmick and I think there was some frustrating running and turning physics that locked you into a slow slide and turn animation.

No, Wario Land 4 is.
AoS is still great, though.

DoS is objectively better than AoS.
>better graphics
>better music
>smoother movement
>more movement mechanics
>more content
>more abilities
The sigils are retarded, but a minor thing.

>SoTN
user, pls.
SoTN is the least good metroidvania Castlevania. It's remember because it was the first, but the DS games shits on it, and AoS is also a lot better.

this thread made me want to play some GBA games on 3DS, should I begin with Mother 3 or Boktai ?

Boktai if you haven't played EarthBound
Mother 3 if you have.

Probably not the best, but quite fun
