Can anybody explain honestly what the fuck happened to videogames?

Can anybody explain honestly what the fuck happened to videogames?

Every E3 is from meh to huge disappointment since like 2009.

Every game people are looking forward to ends up falling flat on a pile of horseshit on release.

Game studios are constantly watering things down for wider audiences, but it's gone so far that I don't honestly think you can stretch things out any more far than it's already has been.

Do you guys just stick around cause you have nothing else to do or have you all just accepted that most of it is shit and look forward to panning for tiny little scraps of gold dust in a ocean that has been tapped dry?

Isn't it obvious? We ruined video games by complaining non stop. Nothing was ever good enough for us and it negatively affected the game industry

You need a new hobby

It turned from a hobby for gamers by gamers into a business ran by jews and people who have never played a single game in their life

You grew up.

>off by one (1)

came here to post this

There's just as many good games as there used to be. You're just looking for shit to complain about .

Video games died because they became popular, plain n simple. It brought in a whole bunch of people who accept lower quality games because of hype and reviewers.

That's why AAAs are dead and indies and focused teams/directors, the only people who actually care about games, make games that don't suck nowadays

>Can anybody explain honestly what the fuck happened to videogames?

They used to be made by people who gave a fuck, who could be making more money doing something else. Now they're made by multinational conglomerates as passive entertainment / welfare for failed Hollywood Jews.

Not really, before Sup Forums was a thing the videogame community was a lot more optimistic and happy with lots of games. Mainly because games pandered to a more niche, dedicated consumer base. Sure people ripped on shitty games but I think people were less divisive on which games were shit and which were good.

Not only that, there was a lot more quality content released on a monthly basis than there is today. Today you maybe get 1 or 2 decent games every 3-4 months and they don't even last that long.

I already have but I still enjoy videogames from time to time but I honestly just don't see anything worth playing these days.

You are too old. Time to move on with life.

The kids are enjoying the new games. You are just stuck to the past and can't appreciate anything new anymore.

This. Stopped playing games last year and it was best decision ever. No more dissapointments, no more having to deal with casuals and normies playing game and feeling nerdy.

I'm into music now and brought me only positive things. Though I still have a 360 lying somewhere I will pickup and play from time to time when I move out

idk about u lads, but this last e3 was the best in years. If you're a huge nintendo fan, I can see why you don't find them fun anymore.

The best part of e3 is watching the stream with v honestly

gaming died around 2007, the year it started becoming popular

the same thing happened to the internet and Sup Forums

This desufam. Jews ruined vidya.

Good games, hell even decent and fun games are getting rarer by the year. This didn't year was a shittiest year for gaming I've experienced.

>"when I move out"
user, how old are you?

>I am into music now

Who the fuck doesn't listen to music? Were you not into music before or something?

Do you mean playing music?

22. I got back home last summer due to unforeseen circumstances. I plan to get out beginning of next year.

Stop coming here for a month and I guarantee you'll enjoy games 100x more. You can't surround yourself with shit opinions and expect to be optimistic about games. Alternatively stop playing games that weren't made for you (most AAA games), get a vita and be happy

Yah watching it with Sup Forums was always fun but honestly E3 has been so excruciatingly boring these days it's not even worth it. E3 really started toning down on a lot of awkwardness to make fun of, and there honestly just is less new interesting games being announced unless you love hearing the announcement for the 10th sequel to your favorite IP is coming out every year or whatever.

That's what I mean, yeah. I make >electronic music and dj aswell.

You're pretty based, user. Good job.

I don't listen to music

I can't remember the last time I put on music, I just play video games instead

>unforeseen circumstances
are you gordon user

>implying there is a single new game out with a soundtrack good enough to warrant not turning off music and playing your own.

Last year was much worse. At least we got DaS3, AM2R and Dishonored 2

Stop expecting innovation to come from major developers.

The only developers who will develop anything that will challenge your expectations are indies.

Grab your fedora, you are part of us now.

you got older

nice meme, prick

Gaming is declining in sales, I don't think this gen will come close to outselling the last one, and nothing will top PS2.

I don't come here that much anymore. Since I stopped playing games I left for Sup Forums and Sup Forums. I'd really like to get back at my old collection of original and 360 xbox games. Sadly, Sup Forums is the only place I want to check to keep updated about new developments.

Thanks user!

I might be for 10 bucks, nigga.

Man, I really like stock photos like that

>Video games get popular
>Most people dont give a fuck/dont know any better so they buy just about anything if hyped enough
>Devs and publishers like money
>They can make profit by half assing a game since ton of people buy anyway

Same thing what happened with movies. No room for creativity or experimentation.

>indies

Jesus christ no.

Indie games at best are fun little side-attractions to fill up some freetime while waiting for the big games to come out.

Until indie developer fags will stop making retro pixel shit and "tribute games" and start making fully fledged 3d titles with singleplayer that rivals even just the ps1 era they will always be sideshow attractions.

I don't see it. 2015 was a great year.

I would say I feel bad for people who absolutelt refuse to touch indies and have to deal with the AAA tripe but they brought it on themselves for being so fucking thick headed, like why denounce all indie games ever? It's fucking pointless.
Like not only are they the only people in the world who still give enough of a shit about video games to not crap all over their customers these days but they have the passion to actually innovate and come up with interesting shit.
Like I get that a lot of it is artsty fartsy nonsense but that's why you ignore the puzzle platformers and focus on fun stuff.
The industry isn't doomed, it's just the only people taking risks and doing interesting shit are the people you refuse to pay attention to because you're either too arrogant for it or too stupid.

Welp, guess you just need to give up on video games then.

Different user here,

There's also being like INTO music. Going to small venues to hear new bands, or going to concerts or following a band who's on tour in your area.

Like, I like music, but I think I've been to one concert in the past 5 years. Bars that have a band I don't count, cause I didn't go there for the band, and didn't know they had one playing till I got there.

But Sid Meier is a Jew.

Big money killed vidya. Back in 2000-2005 the biggest studios had 50-200 employees.

Now? Fucking hundreds, maybe thousands of people. Hundreds of millions used just for marketing. Shareholders who wait for profits but don't want big risks, so you have to follow specific tested formulas and have focus groups and shit.. instead of just doing your own vision.

It's not a good enviroment for creativity and innovation. Stress over losing your job if the game doesn't do well, HR cunts breathing down your neck. Project deadline looming ahead.

I can agree with this guy, I've been playing less videogames for months now and things are going better for me, to be fair I was using them as escapism but I know a lot of people here do the same. Face your problems user, life is good when you do.

Casuals/normalfags have ruined everything.

All you can do is play any older games you missed while waiting for the occasional modern gem.

>I can agree with this guy, I've been playing less videogames for months now and things are going better for me, to be fair I was using them as escapism but I know a lot of people here do the same. Face your problems user, life is good when you do.
You didn't face your problems you exchanged one set of novelty for a new set.
You did not kill desire, you did not reach a new state of being.
You're as pathetic as you ever were.

depends on geography really. there are places in world with nothing to do other than play and drink

>zenshit
please go. life is about wanting something. if you don't want anyting = you are dead as fuck.

You can't expect me to reach illumination just because I've been playing less games, get the fuck out of here.

sounds like you still play AAA games.

might as well listen to pop music and then bitch that all music sucks
