Create your own Six Flags was one my favourites
But nothing will beat Dynamite Dunes
RIP planet coaster
The ride never ends.
Dynamite Dunes was basically "Research Go-Karts and wait".
I'm not one to build more than one of each type of ride, two at max.
Go-Karts are fuckin great, but I always enjoyed making cool looking parks with interesting rides
Recently got playing again, with two of the expansions. Found it all in a second hand store.
Just finished "Crater Carnage". This game really satisfies my tetris needs mang.
It was never alive to begin with.
what's wrong with it?
>expanding dinky park
>can only afford to do it piece by piece
>pathways are a fucking maze by the end
Thank god guests dont get lost easily. Although everyone seemed to congregate in a corner and I could never figure out why
>Guests dont get lost easily.
Try creating double wide paths.
what a boring ass park. l2theme.
>this was all programmed in x86 assembly
That's why it ran so well even on old machines.
Everything is done by the book, memory allocation especially.
I'm really liking Planet Coaster.
The game even technically has physics the absolute fucking madman.
guest pathfinding is ultimately shit, its like sc4 before nam but rct2 never got an equivalent. intersections are probably the worst thing you can put in your park.
A fucking nightmare.
Can we do OpenRCT Sup Forums servers again?
A few years ago the consensus on Sup Forums used to be that the most generally liked and least divisive games are Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and Wario Land 4.
I still hold this opinion. No one dislikes either of those games.
>dynamite blaster has crashed
is there any way to prevent this? it seems inevitable.
What about Metroid Prime?
I always just removed it and replaced it with a different mine cart coaster as soon as i started up
well he probably didn't use debug.exe
It is a great game, but too divisive because many people who prefer 2D Metroid dislike the Prime games, and sometimes vice versa.
Is this good enough user
SimCity 4 is one of these too
what a mess.
I dislike metroid prime.
It's shit.
Agreed.
>when you finally start to appreciate Virginia Reels
most underrated coaster
This senpai
...
Might be. I was never much into SimCity.
Will planet coaster be the game we need Sup Forums?
Yeah, what's wrong with Planet Coaster?
I've not been following it closely.
Quite a few actually. Reduce the number of trains, add brakes before the station, or edit the end so cars roll onto the platform slowly. For me though, Bumbly Beach was the real meatgrinder with their prebuilt one.
Nothing is wrong with it. Have been playing for around 10 hours now and it's great.
It's the Cities:Skylines of RCT.
>tfw i still have my original copy of the pc- cd rom with the package.
its a god damn shame RCT needed a Cities:Skylines though
1 and 2 were fantastic and even 3, despite being quite a departure from the previous 2, was a damn good game
even if they weren't able to get to 2's level again, that's fine, its one of the best games in the world, but being blatantly worse than 3 in every way is just baffling
>It's the Cities:Skylines of RCT.
What, it looks good and it's accessible but it lacks depth in some areas?
>Roller Coaster Tycoon World releases a day earlier than Planet Coaster
Dirty cunts.
Sauce senpai?
You know the rules.
How did I never hear about OpenRCT2 before just now.
Isn’t that the shitty phone version with special track pieces locked behind a paywall? you have to buy each imdividual piece and it's not even a one-time buy for them. for example if you want 3 corkscrew loops in your coaster that's like $6 alone.
I doubt it will work though, PC hasn't exactly been a silent game and Atari hasn't done a lot as a company to generate anything resembling a loyal fanbase so all the fans of the genre already know how much of a trainwreck RCTW is.
And unlike say with Simcity there's no once great name like Maxis attached to it.
It just reeks of desperation on Atari's part, hoping to sucker some sales in by sheer brand recognition.
Nah, that was RCT4.
RCTW is a super janky game on Steam.
no that one's been out for over a year
you didn't hear about it because its a shitty mobile app that's not significantly better than all the other shitty mobile apps
this one is the "real deal" game, but it sucks monkey balls because it changed devs like 5 times
Does OpenRCT natively include 1's scenarios or do I have to download them separately? I assume /vr/'s RCT wiki has them.
so it's the DNF of RCT?
its an unholy hybrid of DNF and Simshitty
for what purpose?
Depends if you look at Skylines like that.
I meant more of a "Does a great job of bringing the genre back to the forefront"
How is Planet Coaster blatantly worse than 3 in every way?
>How is Planet Coaster blatantly worse than 3 in every way?
was talking about RCTW in that post if it wasn't obvious, not PC
>I meant more of a "Does a great job of bringing the genre back to the forefront"
Oh. Right. Sorry, I'm just used to expecting relentless negativity on Sup Forums.
No, Transport Tycoon Deluxe is.
Ghost Trick is another.
Too few people have played it.
You sure? It's consistently popular in 3x3 and "ITT: Only objectively perfect games" kinda threads.
It just doesn't get talked about much, I think, since there's nothing to really discuss.
>most good
>play OpenTTD when it was FOTM
>no idea what's going on while Sup Forumseteran players are doing told of shit
>make a garbage bus route
>feel embarrassed
>quit
I'd like to play again but no one's made a thread for pickup games in a few years.
I think the emphasis is on objectively good. Meaning, it is not the best game, but the one that can be considered objectively good the most.
Well, I guess it is somewhat of a cult classic now, so its playerbase kinda grew. But granted. Everyone who played Ghost Trick likes it.
Sup Forums RCT2 was surprisingly fun, not like the meme-filled garbage in other games
Sorry i must have misread.
Well there's countless people going on about Denuvo and PC so there's that negativity.
Basically the game takes me back to when i was young playing RCT, it also makes me feel like an uncreative fuck.
planet coaster looks like a nice successor, yeah it doesnt have the content of rct2, but the customization and terraforming look amazing.
I hate how all the peeps look like hipsters though and the music sucks
I like the OST song they uploaded to youtube the other day.
I like their official trailer:
youtube.com
I mean, they know exactly what some of us want.
Yeah, it's a great game. Playing it now.
Me too, bough the Thrillseeker Edition just so I could play an extra couple days lol. Worth every penny, they really provided all I could ask for.
>ur a faget
Dont get Planet Coaster, get Parkitect instead
Its closer to RCT2
parkitect looks like a phone game, planet coaster looks like a modern day rct. and saying something is similar to a game made 14 years ago isnt a compliment
Planet Coaster looks like an improved RCT3.
RCT3 wasn't even close to RCT2 but it was fun and good enough so I'm happy.
platet coaster looks way to cartoony to be compared to rct. scale is completely off. all planet coaster has going for it is visuals if you have the pc to handle it.
It is a compliment if it's RCT2.
well rct certainly wasnt a realistic artstyle, and what does parkitect have over planetcoaster
im just saying its good to move forward rather than trying to recreate an old game
Alright, you guys have broken me. Which version is the best? I need to play the FUCK out of this game again, haven't played it in 12 years.
if i was concerned with everything but building coasters i would pick planet coasters(visuals, making my park look like some fairy tale land). but i want to build dank coasters which parkitect allows; there are some weird restrictions on coaster building in planet coaster.
RCT 1 Deluxe. Fewer coasters, but much better scenarios.
Why not just do Open RCT2 and add RCT scenarios?
OpenRCT2 can have pretty much every official scenario ever, plus shitty user-made ones.
Furries ruined it
you guys know there is a mod that allows multiple people to work on the same park in rct2? me and my friend were doing it awhile ago.
this. plus you can pirate parkitect.
Okay I'll just buy PC and pirate Parkitect.
Gives you the option to refund Planet Coaster, why not?
So guys, what is the WORST scenario.
Out of all I've played, my vote currently goes to Ivory Towers or Karts and Coasters
>not much room to build
>easy goal to obtain
>weird landscape
and for K&C
>all good land already taken by existing rides
Is Ivory Towers the park that starts as a big ass nature park with gardens and trees and paths fucking everywhere?
Yeah I didn't like how big it was. At the start I'd always delete the path connections so guests didn't wonder around for years getting lost. I'd slowly expand and reattach the paths with time.
I remember fucking loving Karts and Coasters though.
Nah that was Evergreen Gardens. That ones tough, especially seeing as it was one of the parks available from the start. Once you start sectioning off pathways it gets fun though
Karts and Coasters is alright, but I'm doing it and having a hard time actually finding good sapces to build rides
I have never seen a negative opinion on Timesplitters 2 other than the occasional person preferring Future Perfect, which is an opinion I can understand.
Someone make a server pls
What scenario is this? Also do you have a savegame of this shot?
Has anyone ever made an actually good heartline coaster? Every one I try is maximum vomit, low excitement, or both
I've never had luck with them. But desu even the defaults are pretty lame in the stats department so I have no clear if they are even suppopsed to be good
Hmm. Yeah, Timesplitters is another one of these series that everybody seems to atleast like. But isn't TS4 regarded as the best one?
Anyway, let us please not make an exhaustive list, because then it will be spammed everywhere, and people will get contrarian out of spite and then future discussion of those games will be ruined for no reason for a while.
Just carry the knowledge in your heart that no one dislikes RCT2, Ghost Trick, Timesplitters and Wario Land 4.
No. This applies to real-life too.
>I hate how all the peeps look like hipsters
All the more satisfaction to having a pathway of them being plowed down by an off-the-rails coaster.
t. guy who can't build rides
>Dynamite Dunes was basically "Research Go-Karts and wait"
That's the entire fucking game
works on my machine :^)
