What's the most copies of a game you've bought, and why?
>16
>I thought I could get people to play with me by sheer bulk
>I was wrong
What's the most copies of a game you've bought, and why?
Think I've bought Original War 3 different times for reasons I can't quite explain.
Not physical though.
I bought MGSV twice. Special Edition for my PS4 and regular copy for PC thinking I would have tons of fun visiting my friend's bases on both systems
I was sorely mistaken
I bought Skyrim twice.
dark souls
I bought Titan Quest on the disc, then I bought it again on steam, then I bought the anniversary edition for three friends so we could all play together. So five times?
I've bought pretty much every game I had on the PS3 for the PC, pretty much the most worthless console ever if it wasn't for Demon's Souls, RDR and Wipeout HD.
What game?
diablo 2
I have like 10/15 cd keys
Ring Runner.
It has the most hilariously one sided fights of any multiplayer game I know, just because of how much it matters what selection of modules you pick.
Well, I'm not retarded so I only buy a game once.
...
As of right now the count is 2. Traded in Wind Waker, regretted it and got it back, still only have one copy though. Skyrim Legendary edition, one for 360 and another for PC, gave the console ver to a friend as a gift so no major lost. I also own Dark Souls on PC and console but the console ver is technically my brother's who just got himself a new copy anyway.
The most copies of a single game I own though is Mario/Duck Hunt for the NES which is like 4. They just seem to pile up naturally overtime while buying in bulk.
demon's souls twice. first was disc, second was digital so i wouldn't have to get out of bed if i wanted latria dickery before sleep
I had to buy Starcraft: Brood War 4 times because I played it so much the disc kept wearing out.
>so much the disc kept wearing out
jesus christ
Either those discs are made of butter or you're a level 99 autist.
Cheap optical drives from the year 2000 weren't exactly the gentlest thing out there.
I suspect the shitty drive was the major contributor to me going through 3 disks in as many years. My fourth disk still works fine to this day.
I have five copies of Morrowind
was a 4-pack on steam to play with 2 friends
other than that, I think it would've been like 2 copies of Borderlands GOTYE, and then got a third copy from my sister
3 copies of Gates to Infinity
I don't even know why I did that.
RE4 twice
Dead Space twice
Don't Starve twice (regret due to aspect ratios)
Sid Meier's PIRATES! twice
Garry's Mod, in 2009. I was the only one with a debit card that could buy things online, so people asked me for shit in exchange for favors all the time.
Eventually, I just started buying it en masse whenever it went on sale for ~$1.00. I have a few copies, but I think I had like 25 copies at one point.
5 copies for Dark Souls 1
Normal copy and PTDE on PS3
Steam and PTDE on PC
Limited edition on 360
I bought Soul Calibur 2 three times, for a reason I'm sure is obvious to people who played it.
WoW 1.5 times.
Shared an account with brother first, ended up getting my own later.
I bought 7 copies of a yuri game on Steam in the hope it would show high demand for more yuri and more games would get put on Steam.
It actually worked.
I bought skate 3 like five or six times. Got it for ps3. Gifted my copy. Sold my ps3. Got it for 360. Sold my 360. Got a new ps3 2 years later and needed skate 3. Now it released for xbox one and got it digital.
>have hundreds of physical copies of unreleased marine education software to sell, many years late
>the most obvious part of the visuals, the terrain and ocean, was made by me as a child
>I had literally just made an example render as I was teaching the staff to use a piece of software, and that render became a final feature
There were so many things wrong with that business venture, entrusting a 10-11 year old with how the game looked probably wasn't even the worst.
I have bought the Sims 2 on:
>PC
>Mac
>PS2
>PSP
>DS
>GBA
To be fair only the PC and Mac versions are the same, the console and handheld versions were all different.
Same, but i also bought the HD version as well
Did it come with all the characters or just Heihachi?
Chrono Trigger
My dad bought me the first one as a christmas gift
Year later I bought it again for the PS1
Then bought it again for the DS
then bought an unopened copy off Ebay
I was tempted to buy it for the IOS but nah don't want to play it on my shitty phone
what can I say i love this game
It has everyone, aside from Link
Bought valkyria chronicles three on ps3 and steam for myself and as a gift for a friend
Second two times was purely to support the developer because it's such a damn good game
were they sexual favors? were they gay? green text?
I bought Jet Set Radio HD about 10 times to gift it everywhere I can cause it is fucking awesome.
dark souls and dragons dogma twice , one for console and another for pc
0 regrets, more devs dont seem to rule out a pc port nowadays
8 copies of Verdun when the 4-pack was on sale. Only did it since I ended up with a pot of money from people who all though the game looked fun and wanted to play it.
>What's the most copies of a game you've bought,
1
>and why?
because im sane
>be me
>be male
>be 12
>be a 12 year old male that's vaguely attractive and atheletic, extremely into computers and aggressively anti-social
>slowly claw my way into social groups via surgical knowlege of useful things
>fixed a LOT of fucking iPhones. Females have no idea what to do if they lose their precious brains
>casually show a friend gmod because it was a funny video
>whatgaem?.png
>gmod, my dude
>oh cool, is it free?
>no
>oh
>...
>how'd you get it then?
>my debit/visa
>want anything for lunch?
>3 months later
>on date with 10/10, drinking bootlegged booze at party
>whatthefugg
Turns out kids have odd connections sometimes. All I learned from the experiance is kids are idiots, 10/10 girls are vain, and hard booze is only cool if you can do a line of tequila shots filled with tabasco sauce.
My friends as a part of a hilarious joke used to give me their games in exchange for handjob, blowjob and consoles for anal. It was epic when they made a circle around me and started giving me their controllers while I was sucking them off.
Fuck if I know, I bought 4packs of dozens of games, and probably even more of humble bundles
Two since one of them was a gift for a friend.
I bought the Godzilla PS3 game while in Japan and then the PS4 version. I don't really like video games much, why am I even here?
Tie between Demon's Souls, DaS1, and Red Dead.
I have 2 copies of NieR, someday when my JP is good enough I'll buy Replicant. Even though there's a english patch for Replicant out.
RE4
>Gamecube
>PS2
>Wii
>PS3
>PS4
wew
Full story?
Haha. Thanks for the story, user!
I have 4? copies of halo 3. we all grew up and moved around and I just ended up with everyone's copy of halo 3
>drinking bootlegged booze at a party
>at 12 years
White trash or
doom.
I've bought it 76 times over the years. I own a physical copy of every single port in existence. Plus digital copies and PC copies of it on floppy, disc, BFG edition, multiple steam editions, etc etc.
Street Fighter 3 third strike 5 times
dreamcast,ps2,360,ps3 and i finally said screw it and bought an arcade cabinet.
I buy Hatoful Boyfriend during sales to give it to my friends... Around 15 times? Don´t know.
And Metroid Nes, indirectly, I have acces to 5 copies of that game:
-Original cartridge
-Metroid Prime gift
-Zero Mission gift
-In 3Ds as a gift from Nintendo for being jews at the begining of 3Ds
-Nintendo Mini
The game fucking sucks.
>make the strangest claim in the thread
>missing out the "why?"
>needing a reason for buying doom
it's fuckin doom, m8.
It started with me loving it on my PC, I made maps and everything, I was a HUGE fuckin nerd. I loved it so much I wanted to share it with friends who didn't have PCs, so I got a SNES copy to bring over to their house. SNES version didn't run so hot, so I got the 32x version, enough said, and as time went on I just started collecting the different ports. I even have doom on my old nokia fliphone. Not doom RPG, actual doom. It's only knee deep in the dead, the other episodes never released.
Probably PSO. Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox. I don't think you can count PSOBB but I played a lot of that too.
Nintendo sure loves making you get old games, the way they've tried to sneak in your pocket Super Mario Bros are countless.
Ayy, this. OG xbox, xbox GOTY, PC collector's edition, a copy on Steam, and the copy in the anthology.
>buy Csgo 3 times to make people play it with me
>come play dota2
why even bother
So do I. I also bought Oblivion three or four times.
i'll play with you if you give it to me
sounds interesting
Demon souls unless P4 golden counts as a repurchase then P4.
Post an email then, I still have a spare copy.
E.Y.E
Bought 12 copies when it was on a summer sale and started distributing it.
Are you trap or trans?
I bought about 5 copies or more of C&C Renegade to play with friends online.
What difference would it make?
The easiest way to send someone a copy of a game over Steam is by email.
I used to own like eight or so copies of pic related. One on steam, PSN and XBLA, the PS2 version, and JP/EU/US versions of the original along with both the normal version and the controller bundle for US. Got rid of all but one of the saturn versions though since it was just a waste of space. Nevermind the probably 40 or so copies I've gifted through steam over the years as well.
I just really fucking like this game, and in the case of steam it was $2.50 most of those times and I wanted to spread it like a virus to everyone else.
I have 80 phyical copies of Skyrim on ps3, don't ask why or how (but no, they're not stolen). Will post photo soon for proof
You should make a thread on Sup Forums saying you'll give away the copies for dubs
That'd be totally unique
I bought four copies of Trackmania2 for this reason. Nobody played it.
You posted an anime picture so you implied it
113
Because prototype video games
Fuck
I've done this, I bought a bunch of copies of Greedcorp as christmas gifts for like $1 each for friends
3
Dragon's Dogma.
Bought original game, then Dark Arisen then years later on PC.
Well I went through a phase, never took HRT thank goodness.
One thing that probably helped me avoid that path was that to my eyes, only young people with small builds can appear as a girl for more than a second.
I'm short sighted, yet I can identify a tranny at a glance at long distance, which makes it seem hopeless to be able to live as a girl myself.
And honestly the reasons for wanting to be a girl were foolish in the first place.
You made the right choice.
Was going to post exactly this. Worth every penny.
Fallout: New Vegas: 3 times.
Once because i rented it, but i couldn't really get into the game.
Once because i brought it again a while later. Enjoyed it so much i beat it 4 times.
Once because i went to PC gaming and Fallout: New Vegas with mods sounded fun.
was that you making all those >tfw no one to play Ring Runner with threads?
also i bought RDR twice, second copy was GOTY edition
There has never been a Ring Runner thread not made by me.
Duke Nukem 3D I think
PC, Saturn, N64, PC again, Xbox, Xbox One
I bought XRD SIGN twice, uniel twice, sf4 5 times if you count all versions, if you only count duplicates of the same version then ultra twice.
Forgot why, to play them on PC.
are we talking about copies of a single game, or versions of the same game over different systems? Cause I've bought the first game in the Disgaea series at least three times- once for PS2, then for DS, then for PSP.
3 copies of the Mother 3 translation.
if DLC count, i brought arma 3: apex 13 times
poorfags and my dammed generosity
Technically the latter counts, but it's such a trivial statement that it's not worth making and piques no interest.
Bought Bioshock 1 about 4 times. Gave one copy away eventually.
i bought payday 2 5 times.....
A lot of the games mentioned in this thread I've bought twice for the same reason (console, then PC version), and I bought like six copies of Serious Sam Classics Revolution on Steam when it was $1 for me and my friends. They never played with me. I still have 2 copies.
csgo
buy during sale
sell after 1-2 months
make around 2 euro profit so 50 copies thats 100 euro enough to buy a new set of tires here
i tried to play Revolution with a friend, but it's bugged as hell
Actually, I remember now that a single friend tried to play it with me and I got weird FPS problems. Like 20 FPS on a brand new PC, only in multiplayer. At least it comes with the untouched classic versions as well.
How autistic are you?
How do you buy two-thirds of a key?
I must have bought Painkiller in some iteration about 5 times. I bought Dragon's Dogma for ps3 when it came out, then pirated a copy for PC when that came out, then got it in the humble monthly.
Red Dead Redemption and the GOTY edition later because I let my black friend borrow the first copy I had and never saw it again. True story.
I have the PC, 3DS and WiiU versions of Shantae and the pirate's curse because the last two were just 1€
