It's just fun.
You know... Could watch YouTube videos or even play it your fucking self
Beautifully done, masterfully handled the PS2 architecture to its best, great exploration and sense of accomplishment, tons of gameplay options, old R* level of attention to detail, fucking play it.
Needs a sequel.
It's GTA but satire - and the layers of satire just evolve throughout.
It's also actually a fun game. I know it's hard to wrap your head around - but 'fun' means good!
Is the PC version really shit? I bought it a while ago but never tried it yet.
Play it. It's great.
I started playing this game but the time limits always put pressure on me, I'm afraid I'm not gonna experience everything because of the limited time.
Put it off for 6 years now
You can pinch girls on the butt, 10/10.
It's kind of glitchy and the controls will need modifying, but otherwise it's good.
>old R* level of attention to detail
>even though gta v is one of if not the most detailed open world game ever made
when will this r* is shit now meme end ?
Picked it up in the PS4 sale and started playing it last night.
It's an old-school GTA set in school, but it's fucking brutal. Characters seem really interesting so far too.
>Implying Sup Forums plays games
Dude it's impossible to reach the same level of attention to detail in a generation when the graphical capabilities don't involve hi-res textures and tons of polygons of modeling for EVERY SINGLE OBJECT IN THE GAME
It's simply not humanly possible, I appreciate that Benzies was smart enough to delegate most of V's hard work to unspecified India workers but let's get realistic here for a moment.
Like GTA without anything fun to do
Meant involve, worded that wrong.
explain how bully is more detailed than gta v
>inb4 interiors
the game is tiny in comparison
Everything from the soundtrack to the outer parts of the map not lacking the same cohesiveness in attention to detail as the school and starting parts, unlike V's clear lack and lack of details the more you go away from main setpiece locations
Now? It's pretty shit in terms of todays standards but back then it was a pretty great game, easily one of my favorite ps2 games.
I think he means things like each and every NPC being unique in all aspects
first and only gta sort of game ive ever played desu, was on pc too. i thought it was nice not too long can finish it in 3 days or so if u go thru it quick
It is.
I'm playing it right now tho.
I'll let you know as soon as I make it not run like absolute garbage on Windows 10.
There was no guns and cars so Rockstar had to actually focus on making missions more than just "drive here, shoot people".
Although it does become "go here, pull a prank", but those pranks are much more varied than just shooting a few goons.
>time limits
What? Only some missions have timers. Free roam is endless. You could take an in game year before you trigger the Halloween level if you wished, not that I'd recommend it.
Finishing the game gives you the 'Endless Summer' chapter where you can finish everything you haven't done yet
Well what am in for Sup Forums?
>I'm playing it right now tho.
Then GTFO, you don't belong here.
>is it muh hidden gem hipster mentality
everybody in high school played that game you nigger
You misunderstand the time system. Its there to encourage you to stay in school and go to classes, but you can just roam around in the city if you want to.
You're not going to run out of time.
A masterpiece baby
bowling
Bowling
the winter season was godly, i wish you could swap seasons or even had a Bully expansion pack for it,
eternal summer really sucks
You could just play it yourself or watch some let's plays instead of asking stupid questions.
Oh, right, I forgot, we are on Sup Forums
It's fun. It's suprisingly well-made. It's enjoyable. It has the right balance between being satirical and serious.
Cousin!:DD
you can kiss a boy
>tfw just started it and the autumn / halloween / winter setting is fucking perfect for this time of year
this is maximum comfy lads, i'm 25 and this is the only rockstar game i've missed, feels fucking good for a first playthrough, very nostalgic even though i've never touched it before today.
A great game.
>tfw its oldschool press triangle to go back in the menus instead of circle like new sony
its beautiful
u can kiss boys in it what else could u want
>All the NPCs start wearing Winter clothing
>You start doing it too just to fit in
>Starting snowball fights anywhere
>Bicycle and skateboard leave tracks in the snow
>The chapter involves the leader of a clique actually asking for your help instead of hating on you
I've yet to see that level of comfy replicated in any game since
so good, going to replay now
The American Dream
>unlike V's clear lack and lack of details the more you go away from main setpiece locations
have you ven played the game?
the attention to detail is epic in that game, unique graffiti, posters on lamp posts or poles, phone numbers, rubbish on the floor, animals.
the game has details user
Tfw no R* Atlus crossover to make a Bully meets Persona game
big American titties
>unlocking the racing kart
fucking love this game man
>mfw listening to the soundtrack
bump for the nostalgia
Go away from the city, it's mathematically accurate.
Ok, you convinced me, the game is downloading now. Let's just hope it's not some Sup Forums meme...
Murky late 90s/80s/70s atmosphere.
Feels like Autumn/Halloween all the time.
Different holidays represented (never done in GTA)
Cliques are funny.
You have to go to classes.
There's an actual town to do things in.
Skateboarding/biking through school.
Trolling Prefects.
> That's sexual assault!
What did I do Sup Forums ?
Timeless setting, original style, great OST, thick atmosphere, memorable characters and the gameplay isn't too shabby either.
It's not a hidden gem because it was quite popular and well-known at the time.
Remember to pinch as many girls butts as possible, they love it
>Murky late 90s/80s/70s atmosphere.
Are you retarded? Why don't you just throw in the 50s and 60s while you are at it too?
>Red Dead Redemption got a sequel before Bully
Feels bad man
Best song coming through:

BOWLING
It's actually 60's + late 80's.
But all the GTAs have heavy satire. They make entire "radio stations" dedicated to it.
Persona before Persona was even relevant.
why was her voice so bad
I remember when the game first came out. I was 14 and the game was rated 15, and my mum said I was not allowed the game because it was innapropriate.
I had owned all the PS2 GTAs at this point. It pretty boiled down to all the bullshit media saying 'games are evil' and 'bully is a bullying simulator that makes evil children' (which is why it was renamed Canis Canem Edit in the UK)
My dad surprised me with a copy and said 'don't tell your mum about it'
Absolutely garbage controls unless you want to use a gamepad.
Its fun af from the start but user when it all comes to together and opens up completely, its elder god tier.
I couldn't start it, the graphics were way too dated imo..
>you will never play Halloween again for the first time
FUCK
slav accent
betrayal
sadness no matter what ending you choose
Why wouldn't you want to use a gamepad for a third person beat 'em up. Do you really need to be told that?
Man this game had some kick ass basslines
GOAT OST
Roman being a literal cuckold who does nothing about it other than drink; actually tries to talk you out of killing the guy that does it.
>using a Keyboard to play video games
it's kinda boring in the end. had fun for 30 hours but then never felt like picking it up again
>renamed Canis Canem Edit in the UK
The unnecessary attack this game got was ridiculous.
There was no guns, no knives, and you were actually standing up to bullies in the game, but the media just got a hold of it and wouldn't accept they were wrong.
The shops in my town refused to sell it. I had to go to a shop in London to get it.
And then when the game got re-released for 360, nobody cared about the name anymore because anti-bullying was not a fad anymore.
The fact that it wasn't completely over the top is why it's a solid game that will be remembered for a long time.
It was just a fun video game with a lot to do and a lot to laugh at, lots of stuff to unlock, a bunch of minigames, silly storyline, the school campus is just big enough to where you finally get to leave campus, it was interesting up until that point.
The only downside imo is the final encounter and the whole thing where you actually do leave school campus to go into the town or whatever. That whole section of town related things felt very "last minute addition" to me.
What's the best version, Wii or PC?
Just bought this over the weekend and am having more fun than i thought was possible in this year, but its already got me wondering about a sequel. I think a college setting could be pulled off easily if R* wanted, especially in todays political climate. I can't be the only one who would buy the shit out of this
her voice is great because its intentionally awful, don't get stuffed in a locker
ill stuff her locker
already on chapter three doing the missions for best boy
>Bully sequel will probably never happen
>State of Decay sequel cancelled
Tell me about your feels, user
The circle thing pisses me off, the triangle was the standard back button on ps1 and ps2, I gew up with it and then they change it just because the COD machine uses that button.
>Everybody was concerned with violence
>Nobody cared that you could pinch underage girls on the ass
A lot changed in 10 years.
But the protag Jimmy was more like an anti-bully who hated bullies.
Nobody cared about Bully in Germany even though Gary was wearing a SS uniform.
Honestly. It's just the atmosphere and uniqueness, there aren't many games letting you run around in a school and stuff, you know? Also being able to beat up fucking kike teachers.
It's getting boring after two hours, though. Really.
Very overrated. Well, like all Rockstar games.
weirdest thing is asian consoles swap circle and x, so you press x to go back
fuckin weird
360 or PS4
user, here is a clue:
Not everyone has such fucked up sexual issues as Americans. Violence tackles more people than sexuality.
I wouldn't call it excellent but it is really good and manages to stay consistent throughout the game; there's hardly any downtime and the controls are pretty tight.
More than anything though, the setting sets it apart and it works out really well. Again, it's no masterpiece but it definitely well above average. It's a good game and I'd say a sequel might iron out its few flaws and turn out to be really amazing.
>this image
I am okay with everything in this image
Dat armpit doh.
Why are UK skanks the best skanks?
You think the ass pinching wouldn't be a major shitstorm in 2016?
>PS4
It's about time they added another PS2 Classic.
Though the PS2 version has awfully low-quality textures, so it won't benefit from 1080p much. I'd still recommend the 360 version.
If only the last sections of the game didn't completely ruin the overall experience.
>Best boy
He is quite literally a cuck. And I dont mean that as a meme. Lolah literally cheats on him several times with other guys and Jimmy included and he's just fine with it
I remember the day it released
>wait for months drooling amd looking at screenshots and searching for new Bully news
>didn't really know when exactly I'll get it because dumb Europe doesn't care about games
>it was dark, raining and cold that day
>go to school and come home
>dads friend owns a small video game kiosk at a shopping mall
>dad calls me and tells me that there is a copy waiting for me there
>barely can hold in my excitement
>take 2 tram rides to get downtown to the mall
>get my copy and rush back home
>it's still raining and getting darker
>get home and put in the game in my PS2 slim
>it's everything I dreamed about
>still raining outside
>in my small bed, tucked in all nice and cozy
>play bully on my small TV all night until I have to go back to school in the morning
No game has ever gotten me so excited and no game ever will again. Also I think it's one of the reasons I love overcast and rainy weather.
Why the 360 over the PC? Because performance? Aren't they the same?
The port is pretty shitty. I would honestly rather play the original PS2 version than the PC
