What's the best controller to use with a PC?
Pic related looks pretty good because of the XInput/DirectInput toggle, but it doesn't have rumble.

Who uses Rumble anyway?
Annoying gimmick.
So yeah, those are damn good. Half the price of the cheapest Xbox pads too.
Wired Xbox one controller
/thread
either xbox controller or ds4, based on which you personally prefer more
I had a logitech pad like that before and I fucking hated it, it felt like a super cheap dualshock knockoff and the d-pad and sticks were both garbage
I've have two Logitech pads, the old one from last decade and that in OP's pic. I love them.
No idea why people bitch about them, unless it's just console-shills trying to get people buy their overpriced, custom-firmware requiring trash.
>Xbox controller
>ever
Not with that fucking D-Pad.
Is it worth spending the extra money for a wireless one?
My old XB360 controller worked fine until its cable got shredded, and I don't want to have to buy another replacement for the same reason.
name one game where the dpad matters
It's mostly a matter of personal preference the way I see it. I've got the wireless version of that controller as well as an Xbox 360 one and I haven't noticed any difference, really just depends on what feels most comfortable in your hands.
On a completely unrelated side note, why is it "an Xbox" and not "a Xbox"? I mean, I know to use "an" just because it sounds right, but what exactly is the fucking rule for these sorts of things??
the entire Genesis/SNES library?
every nes/snes/genesis game
I just set up my SNES/Genesis games with the analog stick because why the fuck not?
DS4 and 360 both have rumble right?
Anything emulated.
Anything that can be described as a 2D platformer.
A good chunk of Rhythm games worth playing.
Literally any game ever that maps anything to the D-Pad.
No. They just don't work most of the time.
If the word starts with a vocal when spelled (in this case, it's "an Ex-box"), then you use "an". Otherwise, meaning it starts with a consonant, it's teamed up with "a".
>games that block all controllers that aren't ps4 or Xbox
Fuck these assholes
Yes emulators can fix this, it's bullshit on principle
>why the fuck not
well if you're not a massive faggot.
Resident Evil -games
Silent Hill -games
MGS games.
Duke Nukem: Zero Hour
Analog stick is terrible for precise 2D & tank controls.
>playing SNES/Genesis with stick
I'm a madman.
Thanks user, English is a strange language
Good job dummy, you just blamed developers for something that is an intentional choice by microsoft to jew you
...
Rumble is very cool in Resident Evil. I've been wanting to play RE2 and RE3 but i haven't because i only have one of these
>no grip
enjoy your carpal tunnel
awful
>I've been wanting to play RE2 and RE3 but i haven't because i only have one of these (OP)
I have one of those, and IMO they are perfect for RE games. Xbox pads with their shitty D-pad & placement of it just make things pointlessly complicated.
You say that while reccomending a Logitech? You're not supposed to use the same controller for 2d and 3d games
>not this
>doesn't have rumble
Holy shit people actually care about rumble? It's the most useless gimmick ever added to controllers
Xbox 360/One controller for PC games (not including the ones where keyboard is better, obviously).
Gamecube controller + adapter for most emulated stuff.
...
Can't decide between the F310 or F710 lads
Which should I go with?
"Hahahaha im so retro lol guise remember MARIO BROTHERS HAHAHA it was GOOD GAMES not like COD of duty AHAHHAHAHA LOOK at my cool querky retro controller HAHAHAH"
i fucking hate that controller because i have to use a 360 emulator or else all of the buttons are fucked and either don't work or are mixed around and i've had 0 games where it would work fine
I'm not the one recommending the logitech, user.
thanks doc
Hijacking the thread and wondering what controller I should get for Android
Yea that's why I want a DS4 or an adapter for DS2
I like rumble
What the fuck, people don't like rumble now? rumble was great in MGS
I've bought that bugger no regrets.
there are Ruble variants of the F310, but they cost a bit more. Still cheaper than DS4 / Xbone pads.
What do you think of the Wii Classic Controller Pro?
I also have that Logitech controller, beaten all three Dark Souls games, bunch of rogue-likes, and some emulating and it's been a great controller all around.
I don't mind not having the rumble honestly.
>ctrl+f
>no "steam"
Definitely not this. The Xbone controller is cheaply made trash that falls apart and breaks after only a few weeks of use. Get a DS4 or wired 360 controller.
As it should be.
It's all right. A decent substitute for a gamecube controller if you don't want the hassle of getting a controller + adapter for it.
t. never used one
well regardless, i've owned a Logitech for almost 10 years. it was good, but i want something new
i bet i can buy a 360 controller for 10 bucks online
It's literally a piece of shit and it's cheaply made as well.
so you never used one? gotcha
Bought one at gamestop and returned it after a week
>asymmetrical sticks
>i bet i can buy a 360 controller for 10 bucks online
The ten buck ones aren't worth it, especially if you're buying some gamestop-brand garbage. I've had two of those in the past because of their cheapness, and both malfunctioned within a year.
IMO, just spend some money for less hassle. I got an afterglow 360 controller for PC games, and it's worked for years.
>being retarded
they remade the dpad with newer controllers
I have that model and it has rumble
>80 bucks for a gimmick controller
Yeah, and it's still complete dogshit. Just because it has the same shape as Nintendo cross D-Pads now doesn't mean its actually good.
>Pic related
Is a fantastic gamepad. Used one for years and never regretted it. Can't beat its performance for the price.
Nowadays I use an Xbone controller (which feels godly in the hands), but if I had to get another F310 I sure as hell wouldn't be disappointed.
That's the one I use, and I'm happy with it.
>PC
>controller
Is it wired?
Amazon says only the wireless one has rumble.
>80 bucks
What? It's 60 max.
Some games work better with a controller, sanic.
not using whatever the fuck you want because you're on pc
30 dollar delivery, though
DS4 for everything that needs sticks or D-Pad
Steam Controller for everything else
F310 - Wired, no Rumble
F510 - Wired, Rumble, Discontinued
F710 - Wireless, Rumble.
>playing gta or games like it with kbm
Try again
Get a DS4, use ds4windows program. Everyone can say shit about "gimmicks", but with ds4windows you get endless amount of customization for the ds4. Makes it by far the most easier and best controller to use for pc.
got that for 2 dollars on ebay, it's not bad for that price
Also DS4 is $40 during black friday. You'd be stupid not to get one. Normally after black friday/christmas you can find brand new controllers (usually stolen ones) for like $20-30 unopened.
>GTA
>any kind of challenge for KB+M
you serious mate?
only problem I had with playing gtaV iwth a keyboard is flying, especially because I don't have a fucking numpad
You're fucking seriously joking if you think you're better than a controller user using kbm with GTA. Anyone with a brain would tell you to use a controller with GTA type games. Thats common sense.
What are you, stupid?
>common sense
in your little bubble, perhaps.
Not to mention GTA5 has a PC exclusive FPS-mode for a reason nowadays.
>DS4
>That battery life
Ew. Pic related is the easiest and best controller to use on PC.
Pic related is $30. Will probably be even cheaper come Black Friday. You'd be stupid not to get one.
>calling someone stupid when you're clearly wrong
Try again
I think he is
>Buying anything with lights like that
Holy fuck. Good luck with that toy.
Is that the Buffalo pad? Pretty decent, my pick for older titles, I use OP's pad for anything PS1 and later, and a USB converter for N64
Personally I'd choose the Xbone controller, but I've been having a lot of fun messing with the DS4 since it got Steam Controller support.
Clearly same fag.
>He says, while endorsing the DS4
Kek. You can turn them off, retard.
This DS4 + ds4windows is the only way to go.
Wow, you sure showed me
If you like shitty battery life and analog sticks, sure. DS4 is the way to go.
>shills a controller with clear like features of the ds4 and bunch of pretty lights
clearly a newfag.
you can't be serious
>Thinking a ds4 battery won't last you longer than a few gaming sessions.
Seriously, if you're on Sup Forums you don't play games enough that the ds4 will die on you in the middle of. Even then you just plug the fucker in.
Also I never had analog stick issues on ANY controller. even my n64 which were deemed the worst ones ever created. Stop abusing you're shit.
That's why you dim or turn off the light and get very good battery life.
The wired version is 16 bucks though, but I don't see an option to turn those lights off
Always bet on Xiaomi.
It's mainly meant for Android gaming but they fixed the drivers and now you can use it as a regular 360 controller on PC as well.
>if you're on Sup Forums
This is a ridiculous argument. It implies I visit Sup Forums everyday and that I can't post while simultaneously playing vidya at the same time. Stop repeating this shit, it's retarded.
>Also I never had analog stick issues on ANY controller.
Good for you, champ.
>Stop abusing your shit.
I don't. Maybe Sony should make better products.
You'll need to disable the vibration too, as well as babysit the controller and turn it off every time you get up to go do something.
You hold the shoulder buttons for like, 5 seconds. That turns them off.
this controller is fucking awful, I have it
after playing with a ds4 for a bit it feels so bad
that thing looks tiny
das lacis
t. xiao wu
f310 has a shitty xbox dpad and kinda stiff triggers but all in its great
really cheap and compatible with all console supported games
yeah I'm sure the ds4 feels a lot better in your ass
I find it more funny That its clear DS4 knock off and upon looking it up doesn't say anything about turning the leds on or off. On top of that the reviews say the dongle it comes with is shit. If its bluetooth why does it need a dongle if you already have bluetooth on your laptop.
