As much as I love Max Payne 1-3 (and yes, 3 was a great game), I think it's finally come to a close, and there truly is no reason to continue it.

Hoping their new game reveal is something interesting though. Hasn't been a whole lot of interesting vidya this year. Everything is always some multiplayer online bs that just doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I'm more into isolated SP experiences, and I hate that the options of an isolated SP experience have begun to diminish for people like me.

I always thought people took the story in MP games not-seriously.

I mean come on, it's supposed to be cheesy, that's why there's so many action movie clitches. I always thought Sam Lake's face added to it, but seeing that there's people that actually take it seriously makes me worry.

Max Payne 2 was the perfect conclusion to Max's story. 3 extended it for absolutely no reason and wound up with the same exact same conclusion. There's absolutely no reason to extend it even further.

Also it's not like remedy owns the title anymore. It's probably going to be Alan Wake 2.

In terms of gameplay, Max Payne 3 was as solid as the other 2 games. I agree the story was pretty forgettable, and I preferred the film noir setting. Hopefully they go back to that in the next setting.

Lake's face is great, it makes Max look totally insane.

The way the original was written I thought fit the silliness of having Lake's face but the sequel while comical in places I think the overall tone was a lot darker (even though the original featured child murder) and wouldn't have suited it.

Just because there are jokes and cliches doesn't mean it's not taking itself seriously. Have you even played the game? The story is pretty fuckin brutal and you saying that you think it's not serious is like saying that Sami doesn't take himself seriously, which trust me he does. Just look at how much norse mythology is in the first game and how carefully it's thought out. Just because there is some dasrk humor doesn't mean it's all fun and games, but seeing that there are people who actually think a game about a guy whose wife and infant child are murdered is just a big joke makes me worry.

That was Rockstar. Quantum break had some pacing issues too, but not as severe. Still, I'm not entirely sure if Remedy are a bunch of hacks or not. Just have to weight and see how this one turns out.

Max Payne isn't even the same subject matter as Quantum Break. A story revolving entirely around time travel/multiple dimensions are incredibly hard to pull off if you don't have a damn good writer (Bioshock Infinite and Life Is Strange are good examples of completely fucking this up). The shooting in the game was good (and that's about it really). Max Payne's subject matter is much different and since they made the first and second Max Payne I have more faith in them making a good new Max Payne than anything else.

This game was so fucking comfy. No sound besides cars driving in the distance and snow falling before you start shooting up people.

You can turn them off though. Unlike Max Payne 3 which had a 10 minute cutscene for every 5 steps that you took and didn't allow you to skip it.
