lmao, nice collection nintendrone
I actually never played Harvest Moon or Rune Factory. What makes them good/fun?
Should I just play 4?
I always want to play rune factory 4, but somehow I always want to play a numbered games in chronological order despite it has no connection whatsoever. Autism I know
It's a mixture of the comfy farming sim with an decent jrpg.
The series gradually kept getting better with each new release, so you're good to go with 4.
Depends.
Where are your Harvest Moon games?
it's really time consuming to learn everything
This mentality is perfectly fine and maybe recommended with the Rune Factory series.
Since there won't be any be any more releases (RIP, Neverland), if you play a recent game and get interested and playing the other ones, the lack of some features added in the newer games will be hard to go through.
Not that the older games are bad, but they kept building and refining in the same core ideia.
>don't have a PS3
>only the PS3 version of Oceans came out in Europe
>4 is digital-only
IT'S NOT FUCKING FAIR. ;_;
Is that Soma Bringer I see in your collection? Great taste, user.
Yeah, you'll regret going backwards. I started with 2 quite a few years ago and then 3 and 4 when they were released. After going back to try 2 again it was just too much for me. I can still replay 3 fine, however.
1 is something I've never even tried. I can't imagine enjoying it if I struggle this much with 2 now.
Don't bully me but right now they're digital only.
I plan to get some of them physical in a near future. The first one will probably be A Wonderful Life for the CG.
don't worry Oceans is the black sheep of the series as far as farming goes
but yeah 4 is worth getting even if its only digital
Which version of Oceans should I get? Is the PS3 version playable without the move?
>Is the PS3 version playable without the move?
yeah it is
never played the wii version so i can't vouch for it
What move?
playstation move
Sony's half assed attempt to compete with the wii.
everyone calls it oceans
its called tides of destiny
i have tides and 4
never got the others since the last nin handheld i had was GBcolor, and got a DS when DQ9 came out. didnt know of any other games on the DS not like it matters since they wouldnt ever be cheap(not even used)
What's the game between Solatorobo and Strange Journey?
Soma Bringer.
Tides is called Oceans in Europe
If you want a good original DS one 3 is still worth going back to other than the really empty post-game its a very good title in the series, 1 and 2 are pretty dated by 4's standards.
>no Rune Factory Oceans
>no Story of Seasons
>no Lord of Magna
>no Hometown Story
Still, it's a pretty good selection. I ended up selling off the first Rune Factory and I don't think that I ever ran across the game again to pick back up, so good job hanging on to all of them.
>Tides is called Oceans in Europe
And Japan.
>>>no Rune Factory Oceans
I want to buy this but don't know which version.
>>>no Hometown Story
Isn't it complete garbage? Because it sure looks like it.
>Hometown Story
>Isn't it complete garbage?
Honestly? No clue. I picked it up because it is (supposedly) from one of the creators of the original Harvest Moon games. However, I've not had the chance to play it yet. I've been for focused on playing through Story of Seasons at the moment in preparation of the sequel, out in February.
I've heard that it gets dull - tending a shop not being as interesting as farming a bit and then wandering around as you choose - but I'm not heard that it was garbage.
>Rune Factory Oceans
>I want to buy this but don't know which version.
Is there a difference? I just picked up the Wii version since I already have Frontier on the Wii.
WAIFU TEST
pass the test or lose your waifu!
the best harvest moon is?
>the best harvest moon is?
Back to Nature
its the gba version but nice
So I picked up 4 at release, lost steam a few weeks later, never picked it up again.
Then ToD was on sale on PSN so I bought it, couldn't stop playing, started a new file on 4, and beat it quickly. Then nursing school got hard and I don't have as much time to game as I did.
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone has some tips for after Arc 2 is done. I know Arc 3 is a huge wait since it's luck based, anything I should craft or set up before hand though? Also how do I get it to switch to other games' music, it doesn't appear under the new Secret Orders for me
Good taste, OP. Who did you marry for each game? Mine is:
RF1 - Felicity
RF2 - Dorothy
RF3 - Marian
RF4 - Dolce
Never played Oceans.
First time playing RF3, damn this is great improvement than RF2 or RFF. Everything feels so hectic because everyone constantly moving on the map but gameplay wise it feels smoother.
I'm pretty sure the wii version is playable without the playstation move.
GIB, TAKE MY SHEKELS
