Finally 1CC'd EoSD on normal.
This game made me feel anger like I haven't felt playing vidya in a long time. So many times Cirno or Mei Ling killed me, making me swear at the monitor and close the game only to start it back up seconds later. I feel alive gain

Trying for SA 1CC on normal for my first 1CC. I like SA the most so I went with that instead of IN or EoSD. I can clear Satori and Okuu fairly easy with losing maybe 1-2 lives combined, but Orin just reams my ass-hole. the ghost spaghetti-os and the last spell card just fuck me up since I can't bomb or I lose too much power to clear the card
Either Touhou PCB or Crimzon Clover since I bought that a while ago on a sale.
I'm not sure extra stage is within the realm of possibility right now. I'll keep trying for a day or 2 before I move on though.

Because it's immensely easy yet used to have a small following of shitters who found it difficult until I blew them all the fuck out until none of them were left.
But seriously, after you go through the pain of SA normal mode, you should be more than prepared to steamroll both UFO normal and hard like I did.
Took something silly like two weeks to break through SA normal, then 4 tries for UFO normal. I then went straight onto hard and beat that in literally 4 tries as well.
Just go through the games in order and you'll smash it with ease.

Congrats. You may want to practice a bit in Hard, since the difficulty of Extra stages is close to that and it can be overwhelming at first if you just got there from Normal.
In Practice you get a full stock of bombs for each stage and there's no pressure since it's practice after all. Your resources during a full run are much more limited and there's always more pressure as you get to later stages, which can cause you to hesitate and get killed more easily.

Which part of "perfect" did you miss? I don't use a single bomb during any of the stage or bosses, save maybe one on Seiga or Futo and a bunch on Miko

I started to play touhou properly this year too. I've only three windows ones left to 1cc on normal and i feel like I will 1cc some of the games on hard soon. Feels good to finally get into this genre, it brings me the same kind of satisfaction as roguelikes.
Can as in could do it a few times or can do it with great consistency? Because if it's the former it means jack shit, if it's the latter then learn to control your nervousness I guess.
Has anyone here played Crimzon Clover? It feels like it's more about keeping your score multiplier and break counter up than shootan and dodgan but it's highly praised everywhere.

I am terrible at these kinds of games, still like to play them though.
Do you people use controllers, and if so do you use the sticks or d-pad?
Every gamepad I've ever owned had an awful stick so I always use the d-pad for precision if I play with a gamepad. Keyboard's more comfortable to me, though.
Keyboard. I wouldn't use a controller because I would suck more but if I did I would use a dpad, no reason to use analog controls when the input is digital.
