I played DS then DS2 then BB and I still think DS is the best overall game. BB is a great game but doesn't add anything new and actually takes away. The setting is neat though.

Bloodborne is not a real Souls game, it isn't classified as one by wikipedia and FromSoftware. Bloodborne took the Souls formula, dumbed it down so it has:

1. Easier and faster combat (too much mobility and stamina, ranged parries)
2. Easier healing (retaliation)
3. Removal of heavy armour and armour variation (le edgy trenchcoats for all)
4. Removal of RPG aspects and build variety (mage? priest? ranger? thief? knight? rip)
5. Inferior online play (obvious)
6. Inferior healing system (blood vials).

This is the objective order that nobody will ever be able to refute:

Full HD 60 fps HD texture modded DaS:PTDE > DaS2:SotFS > DaS3+AoA > DeS > BB:TOH

Wasn't even the best game of 2015. You want something with quality, Bloodborne wouldn't be my first choice, due to problems like reliance on blood and gore and murder (kids need to feel mature, after all. To hell with having colors and having videogamey stuff, nope we gotta go right into call of duty territory). Along with that, online was terribly balanced, and the framerate issues were unforgivable. A game exclusive to the PS4 should not struggle just to reach 30 FPS.

Dark souls 3, MGSV, The Witness, and Xcom 2 are better.

And there's your problem. When you think 100+ hours of cutscenes is "some story" then I'm afraid you've missed the entire point of the video game medium, which is interaction. I'm not interacting with anything when Metal Gear decides to throw a one hour long cutscene at me. I'm not experiencing the game when I have to sit still and listen to a codec call about memes and fiddles and nanomachines. I don't feel like I'm engaged when the game would rather spend its time trying to tell me a narrative, instead of letting me experience it first hand.

A game with an overemphasis on story is just an inefficient, overpriced movie.

Games like bloodborne have SOME story and TONS of atmosphere. bloodborne tells its story subtly through short cutscenes never more than a minute long but telling a long deep story

bloodbornes gameplay anything but mediocre, it's deep while being simple, since it's an ARPG not an action game, the gameplay is as good as it's gonna get. It couldn't be done much better you only really see better gameplay in action games like dmc, but those games are all about the gameplay.
