Smashboards was my first one. It was a grating experience. Power hungry mods, post count being the end-all form of authority, threads full of stupid questions and kids bragging because they won a tiny local. It got worse when Brawl came out because now you had threads popping up everywhere with shitters trying to challenge people and act tough.
Came back briefly for the release of Smash 4 and it all was literally the same, just with bronies.

Now I'm on Smogon and Nugget Bridge. Smogon is pretty good if you avoid the OU forums and the old gen players are chill as fuck. Nugget Bridge is mostly dead, the only content there is Q&A posts made by retards, and blogs where 5% are good/informative and the other 95% are random trash.
