I want to say Mass Effect 3 but the game fell appart way before the ending, everything after Tuchanka makes my head spin.

I thought it was a pretty neat explanation for MG1 and 2, but I think I'm only one of the three guys that liked it.

No AC game can currently have a shittier ending than 3 had. Unity's ending just let the character have no real ending for his history.

This. I replayed it for the first time recently, and I just stopped shortly after Tuchanka. I just couldn't be bothered playing anymore.

AC3 did have a steaming turd of an ending. Though in fairness the "ancient aliens" shit was never going to go anywhere, it was always bad sequel bait.

FFXIII. I was so hyped for it. Then the downgrades, the linear map, the lack of good combat... I haven't played an FF game since and probably never will.

The lead writer director got fired and blacklisted by ubisoft. It was truly one of the shittiest moves in videogame history. So they used three to kill off all the characters and loose ends so that they could make the story simple and self- contained for the yearly release schedule for the casual crowd.

Mass Effect 3.
The beginning was shit, the Tuchanka section ranged from mediocre to good, and everything after ranged from subpar to insulting and absolutely shit. The ending is up there as one of the absolute worsts not just because it disregards basically everything you've done throughout the series, but also creates an antagonist in the last 10 minutes, brings up a conflict that had never existed in the series at all and was even disproven within its own game, gives you three different options to choose from that are all bullshit, and two of which are almost exactly what the non-reaper villains wanted in the first place, and gives you little-to-no closure, and probably a bunch of other things I can't even remember.
It also got me off of my "Mass Effect high" and realized that the series really started declining at 2. I still like ME1, though

Then I stupidly gave the series a second chance with AC3. And I finally learned my lesson.

The former cost me an entire night's sleep after I beat it the first time. The latter I was spoiled on Sup Forums, and whew boy, with that ending I ain't touching FF XV with a ten foot pole now.

Blizzard WoW-ified D3 and Starcraft 2 and apparently couldn't find so much as a single writer with a modicum of talent to handle plot in either, so they're basically dead to me.

Not for plot reasons, but with some of the bullshit and retarded decisions pushed with 4G and X Monster Hunter is on VERY thin ice, with the upcoming XX looking to piledrive any remaining good will out of it.

Tales was always a low budget RPG series with pretty graphics. Phantasia on the SNES also had major flaws. You just grew up to a point that you started to notice their flaws.

This fucking game's plot twist retroactively ruined the entire franchise. I have never been so angry and disappointed at a writing decision. The game wasn't amazing, but I was having a fun enough time slogging through. I don't know who the fuck came up with it, but I hope they were never allowed near another game again.

I can't really think of any notable Japanese narratives, video games or otherwise.

Plenty of folklore and mythology, not so much in the whole story aspects.

Not shilling, because im actually very very critical about the "art" of storytelling, but Berserk is probably one of the best things ive ever read.

The entire Band of The Hawk arc is a literal masterpiece.

What happens at the end?

Ninja Gaiden. After getting my ass kicked by all the bosses multiple times I get to the last boss and defeat him so easy that I was expecting a PHASE 2. But it never happened.

Yeah, The entirety of Volume 8 was my favorite part of the whole series so far.

I usually keep playing RPGs until I max my stats even if I already completed the main story. Also there are some things I still haven't done like a few side missions and stuff.

Omega Quintet. You have to play EVERY quest and not miss one just to get the real ending and even if you do the villain just comes out of nowhere. No buildup. Nothing. If you don't do EVERYTHING the game ends with everyone hating you and one person dead. Yay.
