It's not bad. Gets a bit tedious at points and if you fuck up your party balance it makes you really really wish you could find some easy grinding.

Generic fantasy with a decent engine.

If you don't like the gameplay just skip it.

Also, an Arcane Warrior mage is a better warrior than every warrior class.

It's okay up until the twist then it's great. If you already know the twist you might as well be watching Six Sense after reading all the spoilers because the whole thing is ruined.

I don't get meme-ers complaining about characters, either. Sure, some might be more powerful than others, but you can build literally everyone except T3 (and to a lesser extend HK) into an absolute monster.

TSL was unfinished sure but I think it is the superior RPG. The dialog in 1 was too binary for me everything just boiled down to you being a generic white knight jedi or a murdering psycho. the sequel was a lot better for this and actually had decent characterization for your Jedi

I'm playing a Jedi Sentinel in 2, the skill points are sweet but I don't often hit with force powers, so I've focused on buffs

Play 2, but remember it's Obsidian shit. Obsidian has never made a good game. 90% of the good content was cut. Mostly you just hang out on the ship listening to an old lady be edgy hardcore nihilist teen fanfic.

KOTOR I and II are like IV and V.

They are both excellent, while going for very different things.

2 is the stronger game but 1 has the better atmosphere. The goal of trying to find and destroy a massive space station that builds the Sith fleet is 10 times the plot than finding a handful of Jedi masters and learning why you got Force-circumcised.
I'd still rather play 2 though, I don't care for the story in a game.

The full sentinel path is only great for skills and stealth. Kotor 2 has a lot more skill checks. Stealth in kotor isn't about avoiding detection, it's about sneak attack bonus.

You one-shot people with power blast/power attack if you sneak up on them. Also if they are stunned. It's the only way to do a blaster Jedi as well.

It's not deep, you just didn't understand.

Influence is a really good idea for party rpgs like this. It's a simple mechanic that effectively makes you love or hate your party members. Better than not caring about most of them. And I know other games have done it, but Kotor 2 did influence right.
