Retro Studios is like an expired old hot dog package that's almost empty. It's run its course. It's nourished the family. But now there's nothing left for it except to be thrown in the trash like so much refuse. And that is what Nintendo will do when it sells its stake in them to Microsoft.

The game is already out in Peru, for whatever reason. On the other hand, Retro studios is a 2nd party from Nintendo, they're not gonna reveal anything until January 13.

Don't get me wrong, I love Tropical Freeze, but it's literally Returns with better music, better graphics, and Cranky/Dixie Kong. It's basically an expansion.

Honestly I expect nothing in January from Retro. Every time someone says "Oh, Retro's game will show up soon, probably at this event here" it doesn't happen because Retro apparently drops into a damn coma after every game they release since releasing Prime 3.

Star Tropics might work if they gave it any marketing but they don't seem to do that much with anything not in their main basket of series. And splatoon got a lot for some reason.

Because they knew it was gonna be a big hit. It's 2016, they can get feedback from the fans right away. That's why the Federation Force guy made a video asking people to give it a try, or why they didn't even bother advertising Codename STEAM.
In any case, Splatoon succeeding may mean they'll try more new things from now on.

Emulating DKCR on Dolphin in HD with a SNES controller is perfection. Waggle and slightly inferior soundtrack (but still damn good, just not as good as Wise's TF OST) are the main things holding it back, it's just as good as Tropical Freeze.

DKCR is a pretty graphically simple 2D platformer compared to more open games like Sunshine and Wind Waker which are more prone to hiccups. If you have problems running DKCR at full speed, get a better computer.

Kinda like how Diddy's Kong Quest kicked the everliving shit out of DKC in every way, even DKC's strongest points: its environments and music.
