So I'm playing through Blood Money before I do 2016 or "tm" as people seem to like to call it. This will be my first hitman game.

Just got specialist on a vintage year. Is that one of the better ratings or am I casul?

Also Hitman thread.

Specialist is a pretty good rating for your first level in a Hitman game. What difficulty are you playing on?

Expert, didn't think I should go for the hardest difficulty yet but I think I've played enough stealth games for the second hardest.

I generally never pick normal or easy on a first playthrough of any game.

Nice, you probably won't get Silent Assassin on the next mission but the two after that are both fairly easy missions to get SA on.

Have fun.
>tfw currently trying to 100% 2016
I keep getting distracted by having fun.

Does it bother you that the game has to always be online?

What if the servers go down? I don't know how they thought this shit was a good idea.

You can play the game offline, but the unlocks are tied to being online.
Yeah it's pretty shit and I hate it, but I really love the series so I bought 2016. I don't regret it at all.

Post favorite disguises.

Also, I'm liking these challenges where you have to use a certain outfit.

>tfw want a mode that lets u go after alternate targets in tm but all the extra modes are shit

The contract maker doesn't have nearly enough tools, escalation mode is 95% filler, and elusive targets can only be played once.

Really hope Season 2 does more than just add 6 new maps.

Blood Money is my favourite game.
You can get a fuck ton of ratings depending on how many people you kill, how visible you are killing people, and how you kill people. Specialist is one of the cleaner ratings. Silent Assassin is the best one.

...

>You can seduce the wife as the clown

the hidden ratings are way more fun to get than SA or ghost

>sushi chef kill 35!
>needle pumper kills 8!
>frenzied firefighter massacres 20!

That wife was a fucking freak.

wait you can seduce the wife?

Guess I don't know this because I always use the stupid throw a coin at the roof to kill her trick to speed that part up.

reminder that with magnum ammo you can shoot locked doors and open them, shoot people through doors, and if you shoot somebody with it the bullets can go right through and hit something (or someone) else

>you can seduce the wife
brb replaying Blood Money

She wants that clown/lifeguard D

>not already knowing this
She's not exactly subtle.

I always like trying to massacre everyone in the map with a bunch of guns and shit. It both gave a reason to actually upgrade the weapons and the shooting mechanics are actually pretty fun.

What was the one you got for dumping everyone over the side of the boat on the mississippi one?

>all these challenges

Man how the fuck am I supposed to do all of these. 6 levels and like nearly 500 challenges in total.

Just got stalker rating on the opera house, finally just beat it.

Killed the singer by shooting him in the face with the disguise, then detonated the bomb above the other target when he mourned his death.

Spent most of my time exploring the place to figure that out.

I've been a bit bothered by this as well, just to make sure, I can be completely offline and not connected to an internet source and still be able to play it, right?

Yes, just no unlocks.

playing ™ and just got to Morocco, wtf is this shit?
stopping a coup and protecting the political balance? am I fucking Sam Fisher?

Hitman is World Police. Colorado is similarly super political.

What if 47 got hired to assassinate himself?

You kill whoever you're being paid to kill. Don't ever question the hit.
Think of that poor cuck Joseph Clarence in BM

You're a hitman, the only side you're on is the money's.
I'm sure if he messed with the disguise system he could manage just fine.
NEVUH HEARD OF HIM

Not to mention that it will make sense later in the story why you were hired to kill those targets.
protip: not randomly

Does Silent Assassin in TM have any rewards? An escalation run got ruined at the last second and I don't want to redo it.

I think he's killed enough of himself

>not having him be executed on stage your first time

>Hitman uses to be about a mad scientist, a clone army, a haunted hotel, and a magic jaguar god in the jungle

Whew

Why does he kill anyway? Does he need to pay the rent or something?

You know, this really bothered me in ™'s story: at the end the Providence Constant shows Diana a picture of a little boy that looks like 47. But in Codename 47 and Contracts, when you're in the cloning lab, you see adult 48s floating in vats.So how the fuck did 47 have a childhood then? Was he super speshul that Ort-Meyer let him out and have a life? That old psychopath? Fucking doubt it.

He needs to buy more bespoke suits.

I have done exactly this thing

He needs to pay for his waifu Diana

>have to grind like hell to unlock weapons

Shaking my head.

TM is a reboot/retcon

What was the best level from abortion?

>challenges
>grinding
Nah, you can savescum to do multiple challenges in one mission, plus actually doing the challenge is fun. I'm and that screenshot was me doing the challenge to blow up Dalia with the gas thing.

Delete this
47 is pure
yfw he's 100% an asexual virgin

TM is a direct sequel I think.
>implying Diana hasn't atleast tried to fondle him

Is Hitman TM any good?

Whats the estimated amount of hours this game has of gameplay?

Is the game really 'always -online? If so does it really bother you or have any real drawbacks?

Is it like Absolution or different?

Definitely not reboot fampai, it references targets and events from pretty much every single previous Hitman
And apart from that one thing, I can't recall any other retcons that can't be made to fit inside the already established timeline

>yfw he's 100% an asexual virgin
Then how does the enemy agent catch you in the christmas party?

Pretty sure there's no unlockables in the offline mode.

That's what I just did.

Escalations are the tedious parts for me. Just trial and error.

I don't really like challenges, feels like I'm checking off a list rather than enjoying the game.

>Letting her catch you
Get a load of this specialist.

It bugs out if you get disconnected for a long while and you have no option but to exit to the menu.

>Is Hitman TM any good?
Yes.
>Whats the estimated amount of hours this game has of gameplay?
8-12 hours for the basic story missions, tons more if you do other content. I'm at 25 hours and all I've done is the story, one elusive target, and some challenges.
>Is the game really 'always -online? If so does it really bother you or have any real drawbacks?
You can play offline, but you can't access your unlocks. It doesn't bother me because it rarely disconnects mid game, it's done it twice since I've started playing and I just instantly reconnect and continue playing. Still a shitty practice though.
>Is it like Absolution or different?
It's more like Blood Money

>Is Hitman TM any good?
Level design is really good but that's about where it stops. Mediocre in every other way.
>Whats the estimated amount of hours this game has of gameplay?
Depends how much you like replaying the same thing to complete all the challenges.
>Is the game really 'always -online? If so does it really bother you or have any real drawbacks?
Yes. The only drawback is if you're an Australian or with Comcast.
>Is it like Absolution or different?
It's much more like Blood Money in that the story isn't the main overarching theme.

Hasn't it always been that 47 was of a genetically modified birth, and was raised a normal lifespan in the asylum?
the 48s were developed rapidly, born from vats. They also lack free will, and while genetically superior to Agent 47, lack the skill and finesse since they're literally manbabies.

>tfw played the first couple hours of blood money and was bored as fuck and hated it
>figured it was dated and clunky and only loved by nostalgiatards
>pulled the trigger and bought hitmanTM because refunds exist
>had a blast

if any of you who never played a hitman tried blood money like me and didn't get into it, I would still recommend trying out hitmanTM

>Is Hitman TM any good?
Yes.
>Whats the estimated amount of hours this game has of gameplay?
It has tons of challenges to do. If you don't do them, then probably 6-7? If you try to do them, 8+ days. I'm only at 50-ish hours, but I didn't try the difficult bonus contracts yet
>Is the game really 'always -online? If so does it really bother you or have any real drawbacks?
It can be played offline, but sadly challenges won't register if you do. It's fucking bullshit
>Is it like Absolution or different?
It's more like BM

Honestly don't know how you could think it's boring, I just starting playing yesterday and I think it's amazing so far.

Look at this fucking shill.
>I bought a cheap game, and fucking HATED it
>so I bought a more expensive game in the very same series, and WOW! I'm having a blast! Buy it now!

couldn't get into the controls and slowness of blood money, hitman tm just felt more fun right away with the smooth controls and the maps were more fun to explore imo. only things I kind of liked from what I played from blood money was the music and voice acting

>tfw played the first couple hours of blood money and was bored as fuck and hated it
Specifically, what do you mean by 'first couple of hours'? How many levels did you get through?

Because I think most people can agree that Blood Money had a fucking terrible opening level/tutorial.

Why are there so many people who only played Blood Money?
>playing the 4th instalment of a series
I don't understand this meme

>Depends how much you like replaying the same thing to complete all the challenges.
What if I just like stealthily killing people and fucking around all silent-like over and over again?

Hitman thread? good I need FUCKING HELP

How do I get gud? I have everything turned off and it's hard as balls to anticipate people coming

I want to do the elusive targets right now but I'm worried I might fuck up

DO NOT SKIP ANY HITMAN GAME EXCEPT ABSOLUTION. Every single Hitman game is good and the game does in fact have a very good over-arching storyline, and before they were purchased by Square Enix there was a clear character study going on with Agent 47. Once again: NO Hitman game is worth skipping except Absolution. Those that tell you Hitman Bloodmoney is the 'definitive' Hitman game are kids born in 2000 and first played Bloodmoney when they were 6 or 7.

Play Hitman 1, 2, Blood Money, and then Contracts. Skip Absolution. Hitman 1 is a perfectly fine game. Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is, in my opinion, the definitive Hitman game and demonstrates a true evolution and creation of its own genre niche.

Contracts makes sense to play after Blood Money if only due to the chronology of events, and it's a great way to see how the developers matured as the years went on in terms of gameplay design.

>Does he need to pay the rent or something?Probably, but killing is also the only thing he knows. That's kinda what Hitman 2 is about.

I think you should play it first.

Today I spent 3 hours beating people with a hammer and piling their bodies up, if that says anything.

Whoops, fucked that post up.

Radar. You can always restart an elusive target as long as you haven't killed a target or died.

believe it or not I'm not shilling, in fact I was calling out shills in hitman threads the past few days. I can understand why you would believe that though, I've noticed these hitman threads have an abundance of obvious shills in them.

to prove I'm not a shill I will just say the game runs like shit and the always online is completely retarded, I bought the game expecting to refund it immediately and was pleasantly suprised

>Escalation Mission
>Kill first guy by explosion or hay baler in Colorado
>Explosion is easy peasy as he's standing literally inches away from a fire extinguisher

>Next guy to kill
>Via a fire or crush him under a car
>The guy never EVER moves out of his small room

How the fuck am I supposed to kill him, seriously? There's nothing fire or car related in that room.

Contracts is basically 47's nightmare from his past missions

>100%ing 2016
>Not even half way
>150 hours playtime

>Skip Absolution
y tho
It's not the best Hitman, but come on. If you ignore instinct, it's like a good Splinter Cell game

Strange asking this here since Sup Forums doesn't play Hitman.

>AUTISM

Just play the latest game of a series, and if you like it go try the earlier ones.

What if I told you that nobody was shilling this game at all?

I kinda miss how cheesy and light hearted the game could be at times.

Hitman 2016 is good, I mean the core gameplay is great, probably the best in the series, but there are so many design flaws it makes me sad, I guess Hitman 2016 is more alike MGSV than I thought.

>escalation mission level 4
>kill these targets in these ways and escape
alright I wonder what curveball level 5 will throw
>kill these targets in these ways. in literally the same way. you're doing absolutely nothing different. but now, the level exits have mines, and you have to find the unmarked mine defusion device. also we're not even going to tell you how the defusion device works. also the defusion device is in one of three random areas, across the entire goddamn map, just to REALLY fuck with you speedrunfags who care about scoring on the leaderboard.

How are you guys playing bloodmoney?

>Hitman used to be good

I know. Fucking Square Enix. Nickel-and-diming and eroding one of the last based Euro-devs left.

I need to use the bathroom

It's shittier than even the shittiest Splinter Cell games.

Some fucking god tier environmental art and tight shooting mechanics, but that's literally all Absolution has going for it and is absolutely not worth wasting time on.

>escalation mission 1
>kill guy
>escalation mission 2
>kill guy wearing guard outfit
>escalation mission 3
>kill guy wearing guard outfit BUT YOU CAN ONLY WEAR THE OUTFIT FOR 30 SECONDS OR ELSE
>escalation mission 4
>kill 2 guys wearing 30 second guard outfit
that's when I dropped them altogether

2 is objectively the best game in the series. Best atmosphere, best missions, AI isn't retarded and disguises don't work completely becau'se if you're really near somebody he's going to start suspecting you unless it's a random bystander or something. Only bad ones are Hidden Valley, At the Gates and Tunnel Rat, and even then, the first two are atmospheric as fuck.
I fucking hate Blood Money babbies, but if something is worse than them, it's the TM shills.

>people keep talking about how elusive targets are hard
>play it for the first time
>easier than any of the missions

Kek which one is this? I'm already stuggling with the tutorial escalations

What's the best way to currently play 1, 2 and contracts? I've heard the steam versions suck

Do you guys think elusive targets shouldn't have a restart mission ?

>AI isn't retarded
Are you kidding? 2 had one of the most spastic, paranoid AI there is

>people keep talking about how elusive targets are hard
What? Where? All I've ever seen being said was that they're a stupid idea, because 99% of players will just watch the silent assassin guide as they don't want to lose out on the rewards and you only kill them once

Oh man his delivery of lines was so hilariously awkward at times lol

youtube.com/watch?v=XiVRlNKEgew

I think they all should be available for replay without the reward.

one of the Paris ones, in like column 2 from the left on the main menu list of missions. the names aren't very memorable.
>do the 2 tutorial escalations
>"wow that was neat but I can see how it can get repetitive, I'll try to do all of them before moving on to the next mission"
>do 3 in Paris before realizing there's like 16 escalation missions
>at least 80 times you'll be doing the same old shit
that's when I said fuck that yo

Of course the AI is paranoid, you can't disguise yourself into a guard and expect every other guard to think you're one of them. They get suspicious if you get near them with the disguise because they can see your face better, it's only logical. The later games in the series don't have this, Blood Money is especially insulting with its pants on head retarded AI. Not to mention every mission is in a different environment and with a different objective, which isn't bad to say the least, but it all feels like a bunch of hotspots so that the plebs don't get bored. Hitman 2 had a few consecutive missions in the same place, but it was all made interesting thanks to the different scenarios.
Best missions in the series, period. Nothing can beat Basement Killing, Death of Hannelore, Invitation to a Party etc.

I think you're jaded bro
Absolution had a shit tier story and shit tier disguise system, but everything else was tight
Now we could argue that disguises are what make Hitman fun, and I'd agree, it was atrociously handled in Absolution, but I still managed to have with a fiber wire SA only playthrough.

Tell me anons, why was Absolution bad?

Yes, it is very annoying. However the game under the cancerous DRM is probably the best Hitman game ever. Its a fucking shame that it was squarr who published it with this cancer
