Everyone has been talking about Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Assassin's Creed 2 having bad remasters as of late but will anything ever top Silent Hill HD? Maybe Halo MCC.
Still mad.

They were using a Beta build, that's why everything went to shit. Can't really beat something that is unfinished.
I dunno, man. Wouldn't it be worse to shit on a finished classic? Sonic Genesis comes to mind.
How was Halo MCC bad other than Microsoft having shitty servers? Not trying to defend Microshit but I heard the game was pretty good other than the multiplayer controversy.
You're mine, fucker!
Lying Figure pls go
A few performance issues. Not like it ran at 59 fps for a split second but it was inconsistently going from 60 to 40 to 53 to 39 to 60 to 48.
>They were using a Beta build
but WHY?
why couldn't they just get a fucking SH2 retail disk and work from that? or just get the PC version to use as a base
That sucks. I love Halo but didn't buy an Xbone because I switched to PC. I think also one of the reasons I didn't buy it was because it needed a patch to even play the physical copy which is retarded.
Please tell me the remaster is on the right.
I think the PC version has few graphical things missing but I don't remember what. Same with the Xbox HUEG version. It was mentioned in an episode of DF Retro
I think the performance is much more stable but still. Shame. H2A has amazing art design compared to the 343 games.
user, I'm sorry.
I wish user.
Reverse engineering the actual game takes skill. See: Bluepoint's hd remakes. They don't use source code for exactly this reason, because there's no guarantee that what you're given is the final build that actually ended up shipping on the disk. Konami was too cheap to re-hire Bluepoint after MGS HD, or maybe they were busy with other shit, so instead they gave the remake to a company whose resume was largely Glee karaoke games on the Wii.
Go back to /hg/, you gigantic faggot. Don't make me get lemmings over here to kick your ass.
>Implying I've been in the threads for a month in a half
I'd rather be in /gtag/.
Fair point, you're still a faggot though
They lost source code.
1. SH HD collection
2. Halo MCC
Nothing even comes close to matching how awful these two turned out.
Not as much as some there.
bluepoint can fuck things up too, albeit not as hideously as SHHD
>I think the PC version has few graphical things missing but I don't remember what.
It's just the fog that is different because they had to use a different alpha texture for the effect. But the PS2 is also missing per pixel lighting, which is by the most important thing in a game where the flashlight is turned on the entire game. Imagine Doom 3 without per pixel lighting, you would probably want to commit suicide.
PS2 version has too many hardware specific things and PC version had texture problems with modern hardware. They were in a tight corner, so using beta code was their only choice.
>you would probably want to commit suicide.
H-Haha, y-yeah.
;_;
Honestly speaking, who's the worst in your opinion? Personally I think it's lemmings because of his whole "I'm going to pretend someone is impersonating me so it makes me seem like someone important"
It's Droid and Cookie.
Like said many times ITT and before, "losing" the source code (they fucking threw it away) has nothing to do with any of this. Bluepoint did MARVELOUS HD remasters by ripping all the data out of retail PS2 discs, and applying tech voodoo on them.
No, the REAL reasons why SH HD Collection sucked ass were:
-job thrown to a no-name Mobile App studio with no console or PC game experience
-old source codes long lost, only alpha stage stuff was found
-....though the actually GOOD porting studios, like BluePoint, didn't even need any source codes in the first place. They reverse-engineered their HD ports out of retail PS2 discs!
-A gigantic dickhead with too big of an ego, Tomm Hulett, was given the title of the main producer and director for this mess. Pic related.
-What was first meant to be a HD port of SH2, for PS3 only, ended up being a multiplat release (Xbox360 port too) that was to include SH3 as well. And they had to magically try to fit all that data into ONE Xbox360 DVD.
-Konami didn't want to pay royalties to the old voice-actors, so they just called in new ones!
Hell, even Team-Silent's OG devs stated clearly that some of the issues the HiJinx said they'd found in the "alpha" code were definitely never done by them.
Everything else is bad enough but that fucking TV overlay fills me with genuine, seething rage. It was not a byproduct of shitty code or laziness, they fucking ADDED it for no reason whatsoever. The only logical explanation is that they did it on purpose to spite fans who were complaining.
It's the single most important goddamn cutscene in the ENTIRE fucking game and you cannot even remotely tell what the fuck is going on. Holy shit. Yes I'm mad.
