More like its hit saturation point. It's like every month and every companies "big release" for the year is a shooter of some kind. The market is big but they can't ALL sell 5-10 million+ and have an active userbase.

Every company wants to make a AAA shooter with online multiplayer focus because that's the most popular type of game....but there's too many of them for them all to be successful.

Infinite warfare was one of the best selling games of the year but it still sold like shit by COD standards sales were down by 50-65% compared to black ops 3.
