I don't like Shantae as much as Shovel Knight, but I enjoy a solid mascot platformer and getting good modern ones until recently was somewhat rare, and Shantae does that well with her own exploration tint. I still think the first game is the best game though, even with its rough spots.

Did they ever say if one version is going to be better?
Or are they all going to have the same audio quality, resolution, etc?

It's finally over. I kinda regret not giving my money for the physical reward instead to another failed KS that still has to give any news.

Its gonna be on PC, so naturally that will be the best version.

I think they're aiming for parity, with Vita probably taking a hit in resolution or maybe even framerate. I don't imagine it'll be different between PC, PS4, Xbone, or Wii U. Doesn't look too taxing and Ducktales was similar on all platforms too.

I dunno what your experience with their titles are, but this developer has a fairly solid library of games. While I am not expecting a AAA game, I do expect it to give me a decent platformer.

Pokemon came out and people are sperging on that. FFXV is in a week and looks like a shit show so people are sperging on that too. Shantae kinda flies under the radar and they didn't give us much other than "we're done but still in the process of getting the game through on the various systems" which isn't much different than their last update.

It's exciting to be on the home stretch, but other than that there isn't much to say.

Okay, i'll abide the complaining about Shovel Knight whoring himself out, that shit is ridiculous, but not calling Yacht Club lazy. Not after Plague of Shadows, which was straight up free, not to just backers. I believe they said they're working on both Specter and King at the same time, so that could explain it. I also don't know if them publishing Gunvolt 2 and the physical 2 pack took up time either.

As a big fan of platformers I'd have to say not really. Even the sprite art isn't as great as people claim. A lot of backgrounds are just drawn filtered images to give it a look of pixelation and it looks REALLY bad.

Anyone else think that MN9 and Bloodstained would have worked better if they had went with Wayforward rather than Inti-Creates?

Me too, never heard that term and I've been around here so many years that i am ashamed to say it. Yeah. I don't think at certain level being oldfag is advantageous.

Bloodstained still looks good and Inti has done good work, so I don't think it would've helped MN9 much.

Kind of bland graphically, especially the backgrounds.

They could hire additional people other than Wayforward.

I've already asked to change from Wii U to Steam. I do hope it has optimized performance on release version, because I did have to lower settings just to stop frames from dropping on it, sadly. But at least when I get a new computer, that won't be an issue, which is why I chose Steam.
