I need a controller for PC gayming XDDD to play a few games. I don't care if it's wired or not. Any recommendations? I hear DualShock is talked a lot.

The fucking game sir g3s
Keyboard and mouse.
Controllers are made by, and for casual couch gamers that cant handle computer troubleshooting or still live with their parents.
DS4 is probably the best you'll get, use DS4windows and a cable or cheap bluetooth adapter instead of their meme dongle
Dualshock 2.
don't get this it's bad
I love my ds4
just got the buffalo snes pad, anyone here have it?
...
Never heard of it, looks good from the pictures and on sale at Amazon
Yes, but there are some platforming games where the keyboard is atrociously awful for moving around and attacking
The Steam Controller is very good for playing PC games with a gamepad. The configuration possibilities (including the ones provided by third party tools) are immense and allow for extreme levels of customization to be sure things work right.
For games that were designed around traditional gamepads though something like the Logitech F310, or a Buffalo SNES pad come in very handy to have around.
The Dual Shock 4 is also a good choice with out of the box support on modern OSes and support within Steam for configuration approaching what the Steam Controller offers but its not quite as versatile.
xbox one controller, the ds4 sticks I don't really like.
I bet you play Dmc4 with a keyboard.
Ps3/ps4
The xbox is an abomination.
Ok so it seems that I am correct about DualShock being top dog. I am very convinced to get it now, thanks anons.
Xbone & 360 Controller > Any playstation controller. The curved design slides beautifully into the hand and the trigger buttons are far better.
wired 360, buffalo snes for 2d shit
>Ok so it seems that I am correct about DualShock being top dog
Nope, you're just the type to listen to shitters.
>tfw quite like the Steam Controller
I'm probably alone here but the Steam controller is actually really nice - once you tweak it a bit.
That's the only downside to it in my opinion.
It ~can be~ really good if you bother configuring it properly on a game-by-game basis. But that can be time consuming and confusing. So I imagine most people don't want to be bothered with that when you can just plug in the X360/PS4 controller and play like that way.
Xbox 360 controller
Anyone who disagrees is a fucking retard
They're half the price as xbox one controllers, feel better and the RB buttons arent impossible to press for half their length
just fucking look on amazon
the elite controllers all have worse ratings and much less sales than 360 controllers
and that says something because the fucking elite controller doesnt even require a wireless reciever and should support games better with windows 8 and 10
360 was my console of choice last gen and PS4 is my current console of choice this gen (Aside from a gaming PC of course) so I'd say I'm fairly free of bias.
You most definitely wanna use an Xbox controller. The only advantage dualshock has over xbox is a d-pad better suited for fighting games - But you don't wanna use either of them for that, so that's moot.
And anyone who tells you to use the Steam controller is a memeing dipshit who should be promptly ignored.
>Ps3
Stopped reading there
Xbox controller, PS4 controller (if you have one around) and if you have a bluetooth connection built in then the Wii U Pro controller since it is as good as the Xbox one in terms of ergonomy but has better battery time and is much cheaper.
>They're half the price as xbox one controllers, feel better and the RB buttons arent impossible to press for half their length
360 controllers can have defective bumpers. My left bumper wouldn't press down properly, and yes, it was the official Xbox version. Even the cheap 3rd party version worked better.
>ps3
You're a complete idiot.
link me on the highest ranked controller
>Ok so it seems that I am correct about DualShock being top dog
Hell no! Dualshocks are shit despite DS4 being a vast improvement over the previous ones. Get an Xbox controller or, if you can an adapter to play with a Nintendo controller.
any controller can be defective
This was a common problem though. You can even find a shitton of videos on how to fix it (which don't work).
en.wikipedia.org
Here you go.
Xbone elite is expensive as shit, get the second one.
If you want the ds4 to work well with games you need to use 3rd party software that can sometimes break for no good reason.
Get a xbone controller if you don't want to deal with the hassle
Dualshock 4.
It does take some getting used to. Honestly its weakest feature is its including an analog stick as a concession to lazy console devs. They should have gone with the second cluster of 4 buttons.
If they released that version today I would totally buy one. Especially if it had a USB C connector and a headphone jack.
Just get an Xbone controller, best controller out there
...
You're probably joking about the Wii U Pro but I use one since I have a bluetooth connection and it's 10/10. I can play for hours on end without having to recharge and it just feels so good on the hands
>Wii U Pro
shit taste
Yours is.
Xbox and Wii U Pro are the best ones around right now.
what is the best controller for dark souls, family?
Works perfectly for me on Linux, probably a Windows problem.
Competitors products having mysterious problems on it that don't seem to affect Microsoft's own solutions are an unfortunately common occurrence.
Wii U Pro since both sticks are symmetrical but in a more comfortable position than the DS4. I'm used to the DS4 for DaS but after using the other one I just can't go back. It's just that good.
the pro controller has terrible placement of thumbsticks, user.
DS4 is perfect with 3rd party software. I have big hands and it fits nice.
I have both Dualshock and Xbone controllers, and I honestly like the Xbone controllers a bit better. It was already kinda a hassle for setting up Dualshock, especially with Windows 10
FUCK OFF NINTENDOBABY!!
Read as an example.
I agree that and like asymmetrical stick placement the most since it's the best way to play the most variety of games because you have a control option and face buttons where each of your thumbs rest. Still, for games that benefit from symmetrical sticks, Wii U Pro is the best since both sticks are where the thumbs rest. DS4 is just dumb and people are simply used to it because it's a design that has been around for a long time, still doesn't stop it from being dumb as fuck specially when games that normally use both sticks (say FPS or Souls games) also use the shoulder buttons as main control options, thus making you stretch your hands much more than you need.
...
Honestly it only comes down to what you would really prefer to play with. If you want an actual plug and play get a wired 360 but for anything new just go with what you prefer. Xbone, DS4 and WiiuPro can all be done easily.
My personal preference is the pro although i understand complaints. They also do button magic that makes your brain compensate for reversed buttons
This guy gets it.
I use an old 360 controller, works great for me, compatible with everything that would take a controller.
I'd like to use a One but not buying a whole new adapter or windows 10, so I'm just fine with this one.
Don't Xbox controllers use a regular USB adapter?
360 is the best for anything that doesn't require a good d-pad. The xbone controller does some things better, but has shit build quality and squeaks like crazy. Dualshock anything was not designed for human hands and should be avoided. Can't speak for the nintendo options.
it works fine if you just use a usb. i literally have a day one controller and it works fine with 7. unless he somehow doesnt use a usb double male standard to micro then he will be fine. Who knows though he might be an apple fanboy with no actual usable tech or cables
Sony knows how to make controllers.
I personally use the Wii classic controller pro.
I think it has the best feel and obviously nintendium quality d-pad. Only downfalls is that the analog sticks don't have buttons if you push them in. And the left and right trigger buttons are not analog. I mainly use them for emulators anyways. If you do the same, then I recommend it. You'll require a USB to wii controller pro dongle though. I guess that's another downfall.
That's one way to admit you're an idiot.
>Who knows though he might be an apple fanboy with no actual usable tech or cables
Or games to play, so why would he need a controller in the first place?
there are some games. they probably all have controller support since its years old multiplats. just saying there is no reason to not own a cable like that, or consider it an adapter
Which controller has best dpad? Xbox 360 dpad is shit
...
xbone pad+messenger addon+xpadder
When im not using it for gaming i use it as a pc remote for my bigass tv
im using it right now
the ds4 feels like shit my dude
you dont need to meme it up with the gods
DS4 controllers have shit triggers, why can't Sony make decent triggers?
360 controller has better bumpers and thumbsticks, but the ONE has a better dpad
>it's better cuz cheaper.
You are poor and retarded.
