the combat is fun, lots of fashion, great feeling of exploration

Play Skyrim if you need fast travel.

DD DA has one of the worst fanbases in recent history. They can never tell you why the game is good because it isn't.

The combat is amazing, the classes feel unique, the armor styles are varied and cool, the story is decent, and the music is great.
But that's wrong

>His wolves don't hunt in packs

the combat is repetetive, the art style and characters are mediocre, classes are unbalanced, the story is poopoo, the music is meh.

The game lives and dies with its combat. Climbing on stuff is fun. Every class is potentially game-breaking so all of them are super fun when you get good. You can solo everything or have a full party.

Someone already told you combat is fun, being able to climb enemies to hit weak spots and body parts to make them drop weapons or stun them is amazing, soundtrack is great, story is subpar If your not into existencial philosophy and most npcs are bland as fuck. Game is still fucking awesome

its fun to punch shit to death

>classes are unbalanced
Literally the stupidest fucking thing you can say about a single-player game. Sure, some classes can easily destroy difficult bosses much more easily than others, but role playing as the type of warrior you want to be and putting in actual effort to take down a huge foe is, for most people, more fun than min-maxing against AI.

>role playing
found the fedora

I really want to like this game, i own it on both pc and ps3 but no matter how hard i try i get to gran soren? i think it is? Do a few things and ask myself why do i care?

Combat's pretty fun, and character customization is nice. Feels proof of concept at times but if expanded on could be amazing

I just made myself a strider. I beat the orge

What am I in for next?

Also, where is the nearest shop I can buy equipment from

i always find it funny that people give up after the tutorial but i guess that protracted escort mission right out of the gate is a pretty shitty first thing to play in a game.

You mean the prologue? That was fucking amazing, I loved the chimera fight.

All roads lead to Gran Soren.
They're masterworks all you can't go wrong.

outside of the encampment? you're in for a forced escort mission to Gran Soren and then the game more or less starts for real. all the good shops are in Gran Soren, but i wouldn't worry about buying shit unless you're really struggling.

yeah i guess the Chimera is a prologue, i always found the escort to Gran Soren to be the tutorial though. i forget the Chimera part exists, its been so long since i've played through that section.

Masterworks all, you can't go wrong!

When I discovered I could kick the cow to make it go faster the game improved dramatically

i actually didnt mind the escort mission, maybe i was trying to do to much and should just follow the story.

You don't have to walk everywhere. Somewhere in your stash you have an "Eternal Ferrystone" wit that you can fast travel over and over again without ever worrying about buying new ferrystones. With wise placement of the portcrystals you receive mid-game you'll pretty much only have to walk for ten minutes at the most. Had you played more than forty minutes you'd know this.

Would you take your she-goat on a date to a spooky castle so she clings to you for comfort?

It was a Hydra, who is also a cunt endgame boss because all Pawns just so happen to have an IQ of about 25.

You can ride cows?

you can grab onto them and stay there as long as you have stamina. they function just like Cyclopes and the like.

Yes. I hope she enjoys being picked up though since we will have to run like hell from the dragon to the left.

You "adventure" as you walk and that's supposed to be fun. If you don't think so, it's not the game for you.

And yes you can strategically fast travel. Pretty good compared to Skyrim's anytime anywhere fast travel.

I meant the one carrying the snake head through the mountain

Bet that golem wasn't posting game related stuff. Neither am I, apparently.

Which Hydra? The regular one is piss easy. The one in the Everfall is a cunt.

>tfw hydra fight is fun as fuck
>get to high level and just mulch through them
its not fair

Yeah unfortunately you do hit a wall of things becoming too easy pretty quickly. Then you can go BBI and get bent over the barrel for a while until you get decent gear. Then it is back to shit being too easy again.

The world needed a few more transitions and power ups than what it has.

I warned you about packs bro

TIS WEAK TO FIRE

Dragon's Dogma doesn't hold a candle to Gothic anyways.

Yeah its weird how the scaling in the game works

If you took the game and just improved on the bad portions it'd be fucking amazing

...

you can hurt them to make them go faster for a bit.

My favorite thing to do is playing catch using deer or goblins with my pawns.

these people should find another hobby besides video games, its not for you lads

I liek to train pawns. Those moments where you see them mimicking shit they've seen you do are unparalleled, even if they fuck it up. I feel like a warrior father to them.

because of bitterblack isle which is where anyone who plays it spends the majority of their time.

Do you think Capcom would ever release an expansion pack since it did well on PC?

The entire game is one huge wasted lot of potential. I still love it for what it is, but what it could have been is amazing.

But unfortunately since it is a Capcom IP nothing will ever be done with it until Capcom wants to make some quick cash in which case they license it to the west and reboot it.

I just wonder what the next MonHun will be like and whether it will take anything from DD if they do decide to try and open world approach.

>they left out playing catch with your loli
they couldnt find aught better than this?

they already did, its called Dark Arisen.

i would but i wanted julians shield(obsolete 10 minutes later) and i forgot to talk to her afterwards and so destiny dictates my fate once again

Say what you will about the other aspects but you leave the fucking music out of it.

It's a grand adventure.

I meant another expansion. You don't have to stop at one.

No. Despite its success on PC it isn't real success to them. They probably don't even remember they have the IP at this point.

Yeah it's a shame. Someone ought to take the combat and just build a full game around that

>Someone ought to take the combat and just build a full game around that

sounds fucking boring. i like DD but the combat is simple as fuck. Whats fun about it is more the enemy design rather than the actual mechanics. Climbing doesnt mean shit beyond the first 2 hours of the game, and your actions are limited to your 6 slots. Mage/sorc gameplay is just straight up watching a movie

There is nothing wrong with keeping things simple. In fact that is arguably a sign of good design. The major fuck ups when it comes to combat is shit like the Warrior only getting 3 ability slots.

And climbing is still relevant throughout the game.

But yes more enemy variety would have been nice. I get that like MonHun the base game is just the tutorial, so you need to keep things the same to teach those basics.

But then there needed to be more variety/variation after IT happens. When the gloves come off and you aren't supposed to just be able to follow the same old routines.

What monsters are there though I quite like. They just need more.

There are two unforgivable examples of how unfinished the game is.

The first is right after defeating Elysium Gregori tells you to go seek out the Dragonforged because you aren't ready to face him. You go there expecting a new quest chain or story arch that will get you prepared. This doesn't happen, the dragon forge gives you meaningless advice and an item and you're ready to go face Gregori

I have a feeling that they intended a whole section of the game but couldn't make it so they cut it. They don't even really explain the Dragonforged very well either.

The second sin is post game. The Everfall was fine but the overworld change was immensely disappointing. Both the areas between and around Gran Soren and the village have upgraded monster encounters out the ass, creating an illusion that the over-world has been changed. But the rest of the map, with the exception of the unique dragonkin fights is unchanged.

It was such a god damn let down.

>I have a feeling that they intended a whole section of the game but couldn't make it so they cut it.
there was a section on the moon or some shit. Whether it was planned but scrapped or just ideas in the early stages of development is unknown

Completely agree.

It hurts even more if you look at the original overworld map drawings they had.

Fuck Capcom. There are a number of vidya IPs that need to be saved from their owners, and this is one of them.

its better than bioshock and mass effect combined

That's not hard.

tedium incarnate. it's a game for people who jack off to making scantily-clad little girl avatars. that's it.

If you microwave a frozen tostinos to lukewarm, it feels just as good as real pussy

It is capcom garbage, from my research: wasted potential, no future and a waste of time.

What's the name of that Paladin looking armor? I'm getting ready to replay DD:DA and think I'll wear that.

>the only use for lukewarm pizza rolls

>"This you can trust."
>*points to penis*

>tfw never beat the everdragon or whatever the fuck the dragon coated in a billion hearts is called

>from my research

i went to bitterblack and forgot it existed

I never understood how you're supposed to actually deal damage to it. What's worse is that I always see people with low levels in the kill rankings.

It's an """""online""""" fight and youre supposed to hit it when everyone else is hitting it at the same time.

Or you can play offline and its HP gets significantly reduced. Though it will still take 2-3 runs to kill depending on your build.

That's because they have been using this. Check the tracker, if it says that it's in grace, get in the game quick and you only need to hit it once regardless of how shit your damage is.

just play an archer you can do all the damage with no risk

how do you not starve to death with that shit taste

I really don't like using this word to describe a game, but this game is COMFY!

>great feeling of exploration

>wow, this map is big
>see mountain
>go there
>some bandit camp, nothing interesting
>hmm, I guess what's in that forest
>lizards in packs and manticore
>maybe something interesting on these hills
>fucking chest with useless shit
>stopped exploration and began doing quests because you won't find anything except more enemies and quests are just about them
