Stop whining that we didn't get to see Big Boss's downfall. If you weren't retarded you would realize his downfall came in the fact that he lied to you, the player. And he's not the hero or even the villain you thought he was. He was a man of flaws and decided to lie for his own advantage.
That's why you feel a phantom pain. And emptiness. Just like he used you for outer heaven and how you will die needlessly, your life will end with his legend.
Or you can be an edgy faggot and be one of those people who say "too deep le edgy Sup Forums xD" and in 10 years when you're wrong and we have another post modern narrative masterpiece on our hands maybe you'll stop being a retard.
it is the pessimistic parallel to the optimistic parallel of MGS2. Think about it you fools, think about it.
Stop trying to explain it. They will eventually understand. Give it some time.
Isaac Cox
Did Konami pay you well to say that?
Jason Cox
wow i never thought of that thansk for sharing : )
Adrian Reyes
That's a complicated way of saying "We fucked Kojima over halfway through making the game, so we just gave up on the story"
Brody Perry
It really is a masterpiece.
Hudson Young
What's in the MSX tapes? The tapes that are just screetches.
Jeremiah Morris
I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but I really enjoyed it and the themes it portrayed (the first time since MGS2). It's pretty much the only Kojima story that isn't explained to you in detail by various characters.
Daniel Green
Big boss's downfall was at the start of peace walker were he explicitly states he fights war because he fucking loves it.
Camden Parker
...
Justin Morgan
Yeah the story was actually a lot more abstract than 3's and that's why I enjoyed it. It really is meant to make you feel empty. Just like Big Boss does to all his followers, us. He betrayed everyone.
Wyatt Martin
I love how people keep saying this like it's some deep thing that no-one thought of the moment they beat the game and remembered the title. We get it. It's not deep. It's not clever. It's a copout when the rest of the game is just as disappointing.
Parker Johnson
Why was there a fucking MSX in the end WHAT DOES IT MEAN??
Justin Walker
Yep, I'm glad he didn't make Big Boss an edgy child killer.
Landon Nelson
I'm not upset because we didn't see the downfall of Big Boss first hand, I'm upset because the writing was really shit and I wanted a better story.
Adrian Johnson
Time skip. Basically when he puts the casette in the MSX time skips ahead to 1995 during Operation Intrude N313.
Jack Smith
Cool. Splinter Cell Blacklist still has better gameplay.
Jordan Hughes
>We will never get the other half of the encoded msx Metal gear 1 that was on one of the cassetes on Ground Zeroes
It sucks man, it really does
Camden Ramirez
>salutes the boss's grave while crying bitch tears >duuhhhh private military
I finally finished this today. I'm left with a question though: how is Outer Heaven superior to both MSF and Diamond Dogs? It seems to be basically the same thing.
Nathaniel Gray
I had fun playing it, regardless of its plot resolution.
And that's all that matters.
Juan Jackson
>tfw Chico was going to be the ninja of the game >tfw Quiet was a waste of resources and a character, Chico would have way more significance >No Venom, Chico, Ocelot, Kaz brotherhood of revenge and conspiracy against Cipher and eventually one another >reports of mother base attacks at night, DD soldiers dismembered and assassinated every few nights >you have to sneak around mother base during night time and subdue him >Boss battle on mother base, either recruiting him for revenge against skullface or killing him >Venom thinking Paz is alive, eventually telling Chico that she shurvhived >Chico mentally flips the fuck out and starts fucking up all of motherbase real bad >hes completely nuclear at this point >Kaz ends up having to put him down >Venom only realizes Paz is a hallucination immediately after
Oliver Hall
Outer Heaven is Diamond Dogs in 1995.
Nathaniel Morgan

MGS2 was about giving you individuality. MGSV was about taking it from you.
Matthew Murphy
Well, Zanzibar Land, then. The bigger question is why did BB have to go off and prepare a special place if it was basically the same thing? What sets Big Boss's "nation" apart?
Camden Smith
Maybe I will come around and realize it was good like I did with Raiden in MGS2 but for now I am fucking pissed. No shitty post on an indonesian crossdressing forum is going to change my mind.
Nolan Price
Venom survived. If Kojima was still working on the games, the next game would have had an older Venom in it as the main villain.
Jack Nguyen
Zanzibar Land was supposed to be be bigger and better than Outer Heaven.
Basically OH was a decoy.
Leo Wright
>replay Mission 29 >infamousjeepsceneincoming.gif >moments before Sins of the Father starts playing something happens >the driver turns on the car radio >the song was coming from the fucking radio >mfw Skull Face stopped talking because he liked the song 10/10 Kojima
Nolan Diaz
It's not. Diamond Dogs has Ocelot, Miller, Quiet, D Dog, and 3500 soldiers across 5 bases. Outer Heaven has Shoot Gunner, Machine Gun Kid, Coward Duck, Fire Trooper, and Arnold along with a few dozen soldiers in a tiny single base. Fuckin d ranks.
Nathan Peterson
It would never make sense that a complex with a giant baggage behind him like Big Boss would just turn into the 1 dimensional "I LIKE WAR" bad guy he was in MG1 and 2. They would have to remake both so all that stuff from the Solid games would reflect in his character.
Evan Thompson
No that's not why at all.
We got a half assed game, with a half assed MC, with a half assed story, and attached was the abomination called MGO3 that just shits on it fans of the other 2 main MGO games.
What about when Liquid just fucks off with a giant mech, that just disappears in later games, with a bunch of kids and Psycho Mantis
Did any of those african kids grow up to do anything important? Like maybe help Eli locate kazuhira miller the nigger killer's house to kill him. Or i guess they just died over time. Thought maybe one of them could have been Drebin or Vulcan. Why not? Everything else in this game was shoe horned in.
This game was advertised as the game that bridged the connection between Peace Walker and MG.
All they managed to connect was the fact the tape recorder existed in TPP.
What about Quiet? How did she spend her final days? She get fucked by the parasites when she was giving them coordinates to snake?
Julian Brown

It does. Well mostly. What Big Boss does is already told in other games. This was what happened to Ocelot and Miller, as well as the final boss from MG1.
>What about Quiet? How did she spend her final days? She get fucked by the parasites when she was giving them coordinates to snake?
She left and died alone so that no one else was infected with the parasites. Hunting her down or whatever would be bad because she's infectious. Plus technically that's the last mission in the game anyway.
Adam Gomez
Does that make the game less soulless? Does that make the game less empty? Does that make the game any better?
No. You just proved that they managed to show a thing that players were really excited about in a way that not only isn't satisfying, but absolutely sucks.
Sebastian Peterson
It's not supposed to be satisfying.
Mason Bennett
it should have ended with MGS4.
Levi Morris
>I'm Big Boss, and so are you... That line alone proves you completely wrong on it not being Big Boss's downfall, the story is still hot garbage. Matter fact I'd say the moment Big Boss decided to go along with Zero/Cipher's plan, that was the moment of his downfall.
Mason Davis
>it's a it's a bad game on purpose thread
Julian Stewart
Would Metal Gear Solid 6: Bad Game be a masterpiece if it was bad?
Jaxson Lewis
That's not true at all though, that game tries to portray him as a war mongerer then goes back on it and tried to make him Che. then absolves him of everything by making him save America. then tries to go back to making him a grey area character by talking about how MSF is going to do things the world will hate them for.
Then they blew it by not even letting the cipher propaganda against MSF plot point be fleshed out enough for him to be "bad" in the eyes of the world. Peace walker was just a fucking awful blunder of a game. All the garbage about the boss that didn't need to be reiterated because she was a nobody should've been removed and we should have seen big boss doing actual evil things, or seen more about cipher was manipulating the worlds perspective to turn him into a war criminal he never was.
Adam Garcia
You play as Bad Boss and your job is to cruelly torture your unruly soldiers into submission. Gameplay involves tying electrodes to your real life testicles and getting shocked everytime you press the shock button. After 10,000 shocks it's revealed that you were the solider all along, those shocks you felt, were the shocks administered by Bad Boss, your bad boss. Shock cut to black, cue David Bowie. Text on-screen appears:
Another Masterpiece by Kojima
Dedicated to apologists everywhere
James Cook
They weren't ready to portray the character as anything but heroic and good-hearted yet.
Brandon Allen
Nobody is disputing the game wasn't supposed to be satisfying within the contexts of the story, we get it's not a triumphant mgs3 story where snake overcomes it all and still saves the day.
What mgs v apologists refuse to admit is that this entire thing could've been told in the same formula as the first 4 games and we probably would've gotten a much better product. Or imagine if we had many ground zeroes type maps all tied in together with a much tighter story and seperated by linear parts ala the old games. You get a bit of the new, and the very much loved old. I love mgs v but it's fucking flawed, and a lot of it is just bad design decisions that probably could've been avoided for the sake of "innovation" that ended up bogging the overall project down.
Adam Edwards
>not a triumphant mgs3 story where snake overcomes it all and still saves the day
Defeating sahelanthropus and shooting Skull Face feels pretty overcoming it all and saves the day to me. It's a lot like Peace Walker.
Adam Rogers
It is, true, but the game definitely makes sure to make both of those feel hollow when killing skullface had absolutely nothing to do with you doing anything to him, or causing him to be "caught" and obviously your metal gear gets stolen and you never see that shit again.
Technically yes you save the day, but you're never meant to feel like a hero because of it. Venom characterization (in b4 LE WHAT CHARACTERIZATION) definitely shows that.
Nathaniel Perry
>promise game >don“t deliver game >"ha ha tricked you, now feel the phantom pain! did you rike it? ;)"
Amazing.
Jaxon Scott
Yeah I agree. Especially since Huey of all fuckin people is the one who finishes the job. And no one really feels satisfied about it, even Miller.
Gavin Myers
Stop enabling Kojima's shitty decisions and Konami's shitty management.
Mason Fisher
Big Boss isn't wholely evil by MGSV, he's a dick for what he did to Venom, but he's not Child Soldier tier just yet. He is evil RIGHT at the very end. Which is why Venom punches the mirror.
In the game you get bloody and horned for doing evil shit, well after Operation Intrude (MG1) is started on the MSX. Venom Snake is 100% demon; implying he has been doing evil deeds by following/acting like Big Boss. This is why Venom is happy AT FIRST when he finds out he's Big Boss, but after ten years, not so much anymore. Venom punches the mirror because he rejects the evil image of Big Boss, the one he acquired by following Naked Snake, and left is the true Big Boss, the uncorrupted one. Because at the very end, Venom Snake rejects Naked Snake.
