I'm too retarded

Can't afford a subscription based MMO.

Pretty much this.

its semi-free now.

That's not true, I'm playing it right no-zzzzzz.......zzzzzzzzzzz...........

>2016
>Almost 2017
>Playing MMO's

Because I like the idea of a lot of that shit, the execution felt flawed to me. Being some long-haul space trucker seems comfy, but then it's just a little too boring.

It looks way too complicated for a beginner like me.

Is it true that after Ascension F2P players can't run corps anymore?

Oh also because the game is expensive as fuck, even compared to other MMOs.

I started mining some rocks. 5 hours later I asked myself why and then just stopped playing altogether.

I got 10bil and no desire to earn money or PvP.

The game at its core is great, but the players ruin it by being massive pussies.
Doesn't have to be a spreadsheet simulator, but the big corps really like it for some autistical reason.

Pandemic Legion caused more harm to Eve than Goons ever did.

I'm not prepared to make the required time/monetary investment

If I wanted to do actual work I'd get a job and get paid for it.

Take the redpill.

I don't like spreadsheet simulators

Feel the same way about Stardew Valley.

This.

It also takes a incredibly amount of time to get money when you're starting from the beginning. Lategame you get a ton of ISK from running missions so you can easily take risks, but earlygame? It sets you back days if not weeks depending on what kind of player you are.

>"f2p" is just unlimited trial mode
>basically still a sub based
>is an MMO

>tfw capacitor is empty
>tfw alpha clone
>tfw high-sec baby

friend wants me to hook up with TEST folks, should do it?

It's even more restricted than the old trials if it's true the skills you can inject and train are limited to your starting factions themes.

Combat is total garbage.
Game is boring.
The whole "corps and ganking" elements are just trying to find more ways to get stuff without actually playing the game because it's so goddam boring.

I already have a job and it pays fine. i dont want to pay for another one

Yeah I tried today and it is extremely limited.

The stupid part about that edited comic is that the BRs could never out-jew the actual space jews in EVE.
It simply doesn't apply.

TEST takes literally anyone, you don't need a hook-up for it

Enjoy the utter cancer and autism

>80s evil Weird Al with shaved hair

i already have narcolepsy

explain

They're gay and faggotry is contagious

t. goon

I miss the days of BoB.
I miss the days of Triumvirate. holding the largest Dreadnought fleet in existence.

Good riddance that the goons fucked up BoB

so what would you recommend to join?
looking really hard for an alternative to TEST but i dont like what im seeing

im sitting on some 2 million skillpoints here and had focus on mining and supporting fleets for it earlier but every single corp screws you over

Brave

why chose that over TEST?
im really just curious as to what i can expect from each before joining either

I have 6 accounts already though. I might get a 7th this month or next

im not autistic

Brave got ground down and spit out by PL. Additionally there is no upwards mobility in Brave, they're good people though. What does this mean to a nooby though? Well, if you decide to stay playing this shitty game, when you eventually get gud, Brave will offer you essentially nothing, and by then all of your connections will be with them so you'll just be stuck logging in to go welp to some fucking randos out in npcnull. However, with TEST, they have different levels you can play at. You won't always be the cute newbro chilling with them, but you can still get the cute newbro experience with content afterwards. I'd recommend you check out lowsec alliances/corps. Dirt and Glitter are pretty fun guys to play with. If you're interested in sitting in your station all day out in bumfuck null though, go chill with either TEST, Pandemic Horde, or maybe even VOLTRA. At the end of the day its up to you, just remember to NOT stay in Highsec, or you will quit this game.

What do you even fucking use them for. I chill in jspace and don't even need that many fucking alts

I can't really explain it that well from briefly interacting with Brave, and I don't really know how TEST does things. As far as I can understand though Brave is all about making sure beginners have fun and are willing to throw ship after ship at them along with skillbooks just because they're there. Every single Brave guy I've interacted with has been a genuinely nice person too, but from what I've gathered it takes a while to get anywhere within the corp. I spoke to a guy who'd been around for six or so months and he was still sort of considered newish.

Null is worse than highsec unless you enjoy being a drone

I think Null is trash, but its not even close to being worse than highsec, especially for newbros. Things like mining, station games, suicide ganking, space trucking, and scammers will cause somebody to quit so fast. While you're a lowly drone out in null, there's almost constant content for you, huge amounts of support, and teaches you a lot of lessons in the game incredibly fast.

Mine, mine, mine

Give me your stuff when you quit

Because it's a fucking snorefest you have to grind (see - staying actively subbed to the game as your skills slowly level) to reach the meat of the game, which is supposedly 'giant epic galaxy-changing battles' which only happen once every 3rd blue moon, but is really either ganking a smaller group with your pals, or getting ganked yourself, sitting in a station buying shit for cheap then moving to another station and selling it for more, or 'exploring' a vast space of fucking nothing. Then you have people who invested years of their lives into this piece of shit, who suffer from extreme assburgers and online-sociopathy, who cheat people out of shit, and spy on other corps and create infighting, but none of that actually involves playing the game.

Call me when they make the game engaging.

I have social life and gf and i prefer playing GAMES, not excel tables.

I'm too much of a pussy for that shite.

Because grinding is boring.

Because I don't play videogames on an office machine.

Because everything revolves around dickheads flying around and shooting you randomly. I just want to mine and explore in peace

I stopped playing last year. Can I still use my character as an alpha clone, even if he has higher level skills? I heard it just limits the ships you can fly.

you access to beyond alpha skills will be removed until you get omega aka plex again
you can still play but wont be able to use anything bigger than a cruiser, mining is not possible

Hmm. So it just reverts me to an effectively maxed out Alpha? Might be cool.

>no mining
Fine by me... What about gas huffing?

you can fly a venture and im guessing you can harvest some basic gas types
for actual use of the gas, i think some of the basic skills still work but dont quote me on that

I already have a Microsoft Excel licence from school.

Thanks bruv. I'll download it and have a poke around. It'll be nice to fly without worrying that I'm wasting the time I've paid for.

Your options for affording plex as someone who is bad at the game and doesn't want to put any effort into learning to play are:

a) pve like a motherfucker all day every day
b) go to nullsec and have all your shit blown up
c) steal from people

As much as those tales of corporate espionage and scams are funny, I'm just not cruel enough / too much empathy to do something like that

Also game plays like ass and Star Citizen is happening

literally Farmville: Deep Space
no thanks famalam

tried like 6 or 7 times, really wanted to like this game
never got passed 1 week before getting bored to death and loosing any interest

How did you get this picture of my Uncle?

Because 1hz autoattack-based combat is fucking garbage

...

I like my MMOs to have some sense of self. From what I've seen, in EVE you're either a loner nobody who can't afford anything cool and gets picked on, or you're a mindless order following drone in a conglomerate that might maybe do something cool but probably not as it grinds ISK.

>Scam Shitizen

Lamo

Because I've gone full normie with a job, uni, gf/social commitments and the only time I have for any vidya/browsing Sup Forums anymore is whilst I'm traveling to and from places.

EVE looks fun af tho.

It's boring as fuck

What should i do with a Caldari alpha clone? Tutorials and starters i already did.

Sup Egon.

I have like 7 millions after doing some quests, mining and now i just run around High Sec trying to find some signatures and looting what i find.
I don't know what else to do, f2p doesn't have many ships at it's disposal and i get wrecked at some enemy npc frigate ships.

>Gametime is per character instead of per account

dropped

Its not fun, it looks amazing and is very complex but its not really a game.

It's not you moron

I am. I've been doing the missions but I feel like after that I'm going to quit. I really can't be fucked joining a player corporation and doing meme shit.

I tried it years ago and found the whole gate system way too limiting in a gameplay sense.
Space game where you can't enjoy traveling through space is not for me.

Because i can't log in for some reason

T H I C C

I tried it out some years ago and forgot how to play.
When I logged in for the f2p thing I was in the middle of nowhere in my shitty mining ship, so I went back to where I left all my loot, fumbled around with the UI, and shut the game back off.
I don't give enough of a damn about the game to figure out how to play again.

>can't be fucked having fun

Maybe eve isn't for you after all

i dont have the time to commit fully to it

I've been playing since Alphas became a thing but now I want to join a corp.

Pandemic Legion and Brave Newbies are considered the go-to corps for noobs but I've been told by another experienced player that it's not worth joining a corp that you'll have to be in low/nullsec for and get ganked constantly by the people they're at war with and high sec is out of the question once you join.

Then I was told that in low/nullsec the NPC mobs will decimate noobs by breathing in your direction and you can't even mine anything because Alphas can't use the proper miners.

Is there any way an Alpha can make himself useful in a corp? Or be successful in general? I've been pretty demotivated since realizing the true implications of the limits placed.

>The game at its core is great,
>game core is great
>Korean grinding simulator in space
>Nothing you do really influences the development of your character given skills level up over time
>Skills also have ridiculous high tiers so you are in perma disadvantage up until you've played for years
>game is designed around guilds and shit so doing anythng but yourself is completely unfeasible
>Guilds are run by megalomaniac freaks who pay the subcriptions of all the members of the guild so that he can have his own virtual empire
>combat voils down to right click set distance rigth clic kattack with x
>its all automated
The core of the game is to launder stolen money, it does that pretty well

I've heard people say that alphas can do ok in faction war corps

missed this meme

>Is there any way an Alpha can make himself useful in a corp?

Tackles are always useful

>Or be successful in general?
Do you mean making ISK or PvP or nullsec stuff? FW should be fine for making ISK though.

>being this cheesewheeled

>Do you mean making ISK or PvP or nullsec stuff? FW should be fine for making ISK though.
Specifically if Alphas can be (good?) miners. Also excuse my noobyness but what's FW?

Mining is limited to a venture in alphas I think, not particularly good. FW is factional warfare where you fight for one of the empires in the game.

Well that sucks about mining, I found it to be pretty comfy. I guess being a meatshield in someone else's war is the only way to be useful to anyone as an Alpha?

>current year
[insert text here]
stop this shitty trend

eveo is boring to me because i come from this.
call me spoiled.

You can fly around in cruisers of the empire you picked, they tend to be pretty alright ships.

Has a revolt ever been staged against Concord?

>IMPLYING IT'S POSSIBLE IN THIS """SANDBOX""""""" GAME

EVE is amazing
