"Weird" was a slight mistranslation, the intention was "odd" and reason he used that word like 3 times is because he couldn't help himself hinting at the upcoming Oddworld game co-developed by FromSoft + Sony Japan and Oddworld inhabitants (Lorne Lanning dropped all connections to Just Add Water as soon as he could after creative conflicts on New and Tasty). It's a 3D puzzle platformer that sort of plays like Abe's Oddysee but in a seamless 3D interconnected world (like DaS1, but even more emphasis placed on connectivity since fast travel simply does not exist) Miyazaki is the lead level designer, and the collaboration only happened because he and Lanning were huge fans of eachothers games, and working with people who made Dark Souls and Bloodbornd was the only way to convince Oddworld inhabitants to work with a publisher. You play as an albino Slig (thus shunned from Slig society) and the game revolves around saving infant Sligs from a life time of servitude (adults are already brainwashed), releasing the Slig queen from captivity and 24/7 forced breeding and saving the Slig's homeland which is used as a dumping ground for Glukkon toxic waste. Main gameplay mechanic for puzzles is utilising different "pants" to do different things, you start without any tech and can only swim, soon getting a mask and Robo-legs to move around on land and eventually get stuff like helicopter pack and more.
