What when so wrong

What when so wrong

literally everything went wrong

Because they released an Obsidian tier unfinished game that's why. I started playing it not seeing what the moaning was about, then the game decided for some unknown reason to add -500 provician instability to a region where it should have added -10. And provided the fucking think degrades with 1 point per turn it effectively broke the game, because even after I lost the province it kept rebelling against itself.

What a fucking dump. I'd play Empire any day over this load of crap

why the fuck are you samefagging over a game that is literal garbage?
do you really need to samefag negative opinions of this game?

Creative Assembly has been poor ever since SEGA bought them. Rome 2 was the breaking point. CA wholly sold out to SEGA's ambitions of huge profits. There was no integrity left.

Rome 1 and Med2 with mods is all you need. There is no reason to sign up for nu-CA's DLC scam. Fuck them.

Yes because I am mad I spend money on it. That's why.

Medieval 1 is all you need

At least Warhammer is decent

Hubris.

They also wanted to reinvent the game to potentially make it more suitable for a console port, which was a horrid mistake.

I don't think any of the changes they made were thought through in a logical manor for game improvement.

The fact that it was so vehemently defended on total war fan sites and forums was horrid.

And all those people turned and pointed at attila and said that CA earned everyone's trust back forever and that we shouldn't be bringing up rome 2 at all anymore.

Just lacking in content and being expanded by awfully overpriced and poorly implemented DLC.

Warhammer is a reskinned and somehow even more watered down Rome 2 and they've tripled the amount of DLC jewery.

ran terribly (still the case)
bad AI (still the case)
massive amount of bugs (fixed)
unit DLC (fuck you CA)

It's not a reskin, but it did bring over a lot of the ui and system changes rome 2 did that suck compared to the old stuff.

Nobody ever asked for those changes, they only ever just wanted more of the same but prettier.

Hell yeah it's overpriced, but it isn't poorly implemented. They're quality shit if you like the game enough.

Also, DLC that was shown off in use as part of the game well before release.

He explained everything. In a lot of ways CA suffers because they don't improve their games over time. You can still play original Rome with mods and it's still better than the games they create today. Every time they release junk, fanboys defend it, then they create more DLC, fanboys defend that, too, and so on and on.

How do people even make grammar mistakes like this? Like using "and" instead of "an".

I think most people seem to consider the beastmen faction to be pretty insubstantial in how they brought it out.

you havent played warhammer at all if you actually think that.

What was there was good, they just overpriced it. Plus I think Beastmen are getting free shit next update, so they're fixing it over time I guess.

Medieval (1) and RTW play just fine nowadays while representing both classic and modern TW.

It's true. If you charted my playtime in total war games it is a steady downward trend and takes a complete dropoff after shogun 2.

I have about 1/8 the playtime in rome 2 as I do in shogun 2.

1/7 in warhammer.

They got everything right about the interface and management years back. All changes have been negative on that front. Gameplay is largely the same.

I have played warhammer along with every other game in the series except for Alexander. The series hasn't gone anywhere since the early 2000s with most changes being for the worse or eventually reimplementing features in older games and passing them off as new features.

It's actually enjoyable now, with a few minor mods

then you are retarded.

warhammer is a huge improvement over rome 2. each faction is very unique and the game plays so much better than rome 2 ever did.

I hate not being able to conquer any territory in warhammer so much. It goes against everything I have done in total war for years and I feel like it forcibly reduces my options too much.

It's the same shit. I can play the warhammer mod for RTW or M2TW and get more variety than anything in wahammer TW. The only difference is the tacked on magic system and flying units.

I actually like some of the changes they did in Rome 2 in comparison to Rome 1

>Units heal over time as long as you are in friendly territory
>Smaller settlements and more posibilities with management and buildings
>Automatic units for defending cities depending on the buildings
>The posibility to level up and train your generals however you want instead of wait for random traits

Sadly i agree on the fact that it runs like shit and i can barely play it without low fps, are there mods for Rome 1 that give me an experience like that?

This is what Rome 2 should have been

Well, it was built up using rome 2 as a frame, so yeah. Just like napoleon.

>more possibilities for settlements

What fucking game are you playing
Every settlement beyond tier 1 is the exact same, max food max happiness

In the old game you could customize each city to be the way you want, a trade hub, a commercial center, a recruitment base, a frontier base

All they did was remove building options abd put in more restrictions through food and sanitation, that's it. Food was fine in shogun 2 but in rome it's just fucked

This. The old system required actual planning and coordination, with cities being way more customizable.
