Twilight princess isn't widely hated on Sup Forums. At worst, it's just kinda divisive.
I'm actually surprised, Sup Forums is one of the few places that doesn't universally hate this masterpiece
TP was really good
I think they're about equal.
TP is one of the best Zelda experiences overall.
Say what you want about the story or the gameplay, but the game has what is easily the most solid collection of dungeons to date.
Even if wind waker is missing content, it's still a much better game with a better overworld
Its one of the very few that get that "silent protagonist but with a subtle personality" thing down right.
You actually cared and felt for link. Even if you think the story is subpar
This, I love the dungeons, the cool looking boss fights and some cool technology stuff.
Wind Waker is comfy and charming and has some good things as well.
Overall I can't agree on which game is the best or worst, which is a sign of a great series. I like them all for some reason.
I can agree with that.
It's not great but certainly better than WW
Only WW babbies actively hate TP
It's a heavily flawed game but only they push the narrative that it's some kind of Big Rigs-tier unplayable mess. Most of this stems from them being butthurt the style went back to the similar aesthetic of the other games and didn't stay with the infantile coddling cel bullshit they think is so innovative.
I liked the game a lot and the dungeons were great, there was just not enough of them. When will we get back to aLttP 10 main dungeon standard?!?!
There are 9 dungeons in Twillight Princess, 10 if you count Cave of Ordeals, which is pretty close either way.
Also the dungeons are more complex to make (if not by gameplay) with a lot of verticallity to think of as well.
I remember I fucking HATED the cel shading style when WW came out. but now that I see BotW, I think it was just a bad combo with that bullshit artstyle. The new cel shading actually looks really good whereas WW cel shading is terrible.
>Can we all agree its better than wind waker
No. It was a disappointing entry.
Zelda had up until that point been one of the most consistently innovative franchises. Twilight Princess was the first "Yeah here's another one of these I guess.", It brought nothing new, other than the tacked on wolf shit.
WW art style is amazing and timeless. It just shows your lack of knowledge and taste.
10? It's been a while, but how do you figure 10? I remember 3 beginning dungeons and three second half dungeons, with the final Castle being a quasi dungeon to make 7 (maybe)
It had bad characters, and in particular the worst partner in series history
Midna ruined the game.
We can agree to disagree, but it has nothing to do with knowledge.
...
Not everyone likes 2-dimensional waifu bait that hijacks the action every two minutes to make you stop and press the A button five times.
The worst problem with Midna was that she would sometimes just tell you exactly how to solve something.
The moment you enter the Lakebed Temple, she stops you to say, "Hey Link, see those rocks on the ceiling? Shoot them with your bomb arrows!". It's really lame.
I don't know why people didn't like TP so much, it was pretty solid. Also the depressing atmosphere it has was pretty well done, and this track always gives me feels
youtube.com
That said WW is top tier imo
Fuck off tumblr.
>Can we all agree its better than wind waker
Nope
>Midna ruined the game.
her voice did my head in
It's so easy that there's never any threat. Even by Zelda standards and when there should be.
9 temples (that have dungeon map and shit):
- Forest Temple
- Goron Mines
- Lakebed Temple
- Arbiter's Grounds
- Snowpeak Ruins
- Temple of Time
- City In The Sky
- Palace of Twilight
- Hyrule Castle
Plus the Cave of Ordeals is like a mini challenge temple thingie.
It does. Art is not subjective, only if you like it or not is. Colour dynamics, composition, visual appeal, etc., are all objective things.
Twilight bugs was boring and shit, as was re-powering the dominion rod, (outside of the hidden village which was too easy but still fun) Otherwise good, until you start playing roll goal
Forest with monkeys
Death Mountain lava mines
Water
Arbiter's Grounds
Snowpeak Manor
Temple of Time
City in the Sky
Twilight world
Hyrule Castle
I personally love both Twilight Princess and Wind Waker.
The games get way too much hate. It's ridiculous.
Twighlight princess is like an easier OOT with a wolf gimmick.
at least Windwaker was original and different
The arrogant delusion of the WW scumbags never ceases to amazes me.
If you fucking fascist trash had any say in media every fucking thing ever made under the sun would use that abysmal style and everything ever made before it would be burned. Get fucked you subhuman.
every time i get the urge to replay it, i remember the god awful wolf bits and don't bother
2D:
ALTTP > Link's Awakening > Oracle of Seasons > Oracle of Ages > Classic > Minish Cap > Adventure of Link > Spirit Tracks > Phantom Hourglass
3D:
Twilight Princess > Ocarina of Time > Skyward Sword > Majora's Mask > Wind Waker
t. someone who has been playing these since 1987
It also depends, what version you play. I played the GC-Version and the controls were spot on and tight. I tried the Wii-Version later but the controls never clicked for me.
It's my favorite Zelda. Only thing that brings it down is the bug collecting.
>hijacks the action every two minutes to make you stop and press the A button five times.
I think you're mixing up TP and SS.....
BOTW has worse cel-shading though, are you talking about the character blobs?
Wind Waker felt more like a novelty and have better side quests but Twilight have a longer main quest. If I'd have to replay TP or WW again I'll go with WW.
I think what turned me off of Wind Waker wasn't the art style, but the overworld. I much prefer the field to the sea. Also I thought the dungeons were pretty weak, whereas Twilight Princess had some really excellent ones like Snowpeak and the Arbiter's Grounds.
This is pretty accurate desu
>ALTTP and TP at the top
Are you me? I would only put Adventure of Link above Minish Cap and probably swap the places of Wind Waker and Skyward Sword.
>Oh look there's a tall cliff
>Better hit Z to make me bubble over so you can jump up a few times
>Oh look there's an obvious puzzle
>I won't even give you a choice of how obvious I make this
>Oh look there's a thing in the sky, better stop to watch a cutscene of the same enemy you've been fighting all game fall out of it then make you stop to listen to me ask what's wrong before you select transform into a wolf, drop down in a cutscene and let me sit on you, then go fight the one bad guy by himself and walk back over then stop walking to charge up a stupid attack that makes you wait until it's finished just so you can watch the cutscene of them melting away like they have for the whole game and make a new teleporter spot - only then will you be able to have me ask you what's wrong again, then transform back into a human, and then maybe you'll be able to walk to the next spot where you have to talk to a spirit and transform into a wolf again
>Boy aren't we having fun
So glad we could get this stealth shill thread just in time for the game to go on sale on the eshop.
Buy Kirby Mass Attack instead, people. It's worth it for the pinball minigame alone.
>Needing to buy a pinball minigame
>hated
By who exactly?
WW's art style has helped it age far better than TP
>HAHA WOW THIS GAME IS MAKING ME PRESS BUTTONS
>NOW I HAVE TO DO THING AFTER CUTSCENE
>SO UNFUN LOL
>THE PUZZLES IN THIS CHILDREN'S GAME ARE WAY TOO EASY
(You)
WW is the only 3d Zelda that, even after a remake, still looks like fucking trash.
It didn't look good on the gamecube, and it didn't look good with bloom up the ass.
