I always thought snitching was when you report something that really doesn't have a direct effect or minor effect on you. Like if a neighbor's smoking pot and you call the cops, snitching. However if your neighbor's making meth, I wouldn't consider that snitching. If something goes awry then a fire could break out placing your home and belongings and danger. Same with vidya, a player's trash talking or maybe using the voice commands too much, you report them, snitching. If they're aimbotting or whatever, not snitching.

I remember on xbox live party some friend of a friend joined and was annoying as hell. He had some stupid gamertag like DeeZNutz or something like that so I reported his name. Next day he had "Code of Conduct" all over his profile signifying he got banned. A week later I saw him in with a new name but same joke so I kept reporting him. He must have changed it like 3 times before he never signed in again

The few times I ever report are for blatant cheating or griefing that actively ruins my time
