Teaching Feeling.

Katawa Shoujo

Katawa Shoujo
I recommend the Hanako route for extra healing

you just wish someone would love you with enduring belligerence, right? that's the appeal of these sort of fantasies? healing a "damaged" person to come out of their shell and find happiness and romantic satisfaction-- just a fantasy that you want to happen to yourself?

this

Pretty much, won't deny that.

>belligerence
seems a bit too strong, I mean we're not talking about yanderes here

Someone post the version where the dude treats her like shit its funny

I mean it's not completely one sided, you still have to pour some love to get more back.

OH
EL

In relationships this comes from neglect in the "healer"s past. They weren't given enough attention and they developed a compulsion to seek acceptance and care for others in a way they weren't cared for.
This person will find hurt/wounded people to be with because of a need watch over them.
It's like two parasites that live off of each other. One needs a person to take care of, the other person can't take control of their lives and needs someone else to direct them.
It's not necessarily harmful, but the people won't be able to get past their problems as long as they're together, making it unhealthy.

That being said, I love taking care of cute girls in games, but in real life I prefer confident women. Taking care of someone in dating sims and stuff is cute and fluffy, having to carry someone through life is a fucking hassle.

my heart

Why isn't there a tag for this kind of chart yet?

DELETE THIS RIGHT NOW

hmm, but then why aren't there products on the market about a woman being so dutiful toward a damaged/antisocial [faceless pov] male protagonist? would that be too... realistic? the protagonists of those other games are average generic people, and i guess playing the role of the helpless basket case would be too personal, as it might be close to what a player feels about themself but a woman coming to rescue them is a lot less likely than for them to find a "damaged" woman to heal? or is it a princess/knight scenario where rescuing the "damaged" woman is some kind of latent masculine fantasy? probably both.

determination then.

"find happiness and romantic satisfaction" i meant mutual.

yes, these games never examine the relationships beyond the honeymoon phase. or if they did they'd probably just idealize it. i think maybe realistic relationships are more damning to experience in a game than a perfect ideal one? for an anti social player i guess? because a realistic relationship is closer to the truth than a fake fluffy anime one.

>would that be too... realistic?
whoops i mean more "would that be too close-to-home". realistic as in, the protagonist would be just like (some) players.

faceless protagonists are inherently unrealistic, unless you want to get morbid in examining what it means to be in a faceless MC, or to live in an unaware entertainment whirlwind that fails to see the horrifying subtext of faceless male protagonists.

What makes faceless protagonists bad. It was always my impression that the player provided the characteristics of a faceless protagonist.

Waifu games always simplify and sugar coat relationships. I think the appeal here is that it's more believable for damaged waifus to be won over by a little affection than regular girls. It's also easier to suspend your disbelief because she has no idea how relationships work, of course this one doesn't resemble real ones.

NO

No you retard, that's not how it works. It's about saving a woman, and most men are kind of white knightey in that way.

>hmm, but then why aren't there products on the market about a woman being so dutiful toward a damaged/antisocial [faceless pov] male protagonist?
There are, but they're aimed at women instead of men. Women fucking love ''healing'' or caring for the damaged bad boy and some such.

The other game the artist of Teaching Feeling made is actually pretty accurate in the difficulty of trying to be with a damaged girl. She's constantly pushing the MC away and questioning him, it sinks back into lovey-dovey stuff, but the start is definitely more realistic, minus the girl being a cyclops.

Other than that, it's always sugary sweet stuff from other games/media, which is a shame.

I never figured out where this character came from?

She's cute

delet ths

Yume Miru Kusuri, heal the damaged goods (with your dick), or end up in a drug crazed trip to Brazil where shit gets out of hand

Fuck that noise. Emi route is where the true healing is. Got a problem? Set goals to not be a bitch. Sure you can tell your problems to your friend for moral support, but it's ultimately up to you how you deal with your problems.

...

yeah rape is some good healing right

fuck off that joke is old

She's the artist's OC, Karahara Shima.

YOU LITTLE SHIT

okay now post the happy ending where her childhood friend saves her

Literally babby's second VN

Try emotional/verbal abuse

>always thought the bottom right image was just a silhouette
>just now notice the noose

>What makes faceless protagonists bad. It was always my impression that the player provided the characteristics of a faceless protagonist.
so faceless PCs are supposed to be without personality so the player can seamlessly insert themselves into the narrative, right? but these games don't supply the player with opportunities to showcase a personality-- these games are unlike ones such as planescape that give plenty of dialogue choices. while the game asserts that the player is the player character, it never gives any opportunity to express a personality. a soul. the resulting motif is that the player themself has no personality. and then consider that the entire game is about a woman falling for this no personality fake faceless person. hell, some games literally give them no face or constantly hide the face. it's hard not to see how grim these games actually are, especially when combined with how unrealistic and misleading they assume romantic relationships to be.

what's worse is that this is the whole point. this is completely normal, business as usual, nothing askew for the genre. these things are like mental poison!!

>not Mexico
Also I like how they have to specify "only virgin heroines" as a tag now.

...

This man gets it

Did he look like he was asking "what are some game that taunt me with potentially having a healing romance before everything turns to shit since the author was forced to write for someone else (who was a normie and dropped the project)'s character he doesn't like and wrote it bad on purpose to troll people"?

I still have never played this. There's actually rape? Like, faceless men NTR or some shit?

There's no rape. There's just emotionless sex in Hanako's route.

She was born in a small village. She was still a child when they were raided by soldiers - foreign soldiers.

No, there's misunderstood situations. Could be construed as rape. No faceless dudes.

Just for that character, due to the unfortunate circumstances.
Also (spoiler) not old faceless men, it's your character that rapes her for literally no good reason when she wants to show him her scars as an act of trust, so you get all the nice details about her pain+fear+your character's pleasure in first person. The guy really had it out for her, especially with how it was written to be her "good" ending just because now he can be in a relationship with her since she has no spine, like if sexual abuse was a icebreaker. He must have wanted to make sure that the ending that would technically have the most potential was ruined the hardest.

I should say "the writer had it out for her" and "the player character can now be" because fuck pronouns

>tfw started KS a year or two ago
>got into Emi route
>then got into Emi
Stopped reading and forgot to continue
I gotta finish it soon, it was getting so comfy
