I played them and liked them.

I was a teenager who had a lot of free time and could easily have fun with video games

MK:SM was awesome, Deception had some pretty good aesthetics and music as well as a decent single player. That's about it.

all fun if you had friends desu

Shaolin Monks was dope.

DA had the best fatalities of the series:

Enjoyed all of those except Deception because if brought back that literally who who should've stayed dead in MK4 but instead was memed back into popularity and sold as DLC for MKX.

Shaolin Monks was great though.

Fuck Boraicho. Kenshi was cool though.

Also MK4 needs to be in that pic.

>I was a teenager who had a lot of free time and could easily have fun with video games

This.

Now the real Dark age aka MKvsDC I played for a month or two before I abandoned it completely.

Armageddon was one of the few games i regret purchasing

Deception had one of the worst rosters in the series.

>a bunch of deviantart-tier literally whos introduced
>shujinko was one of the worst protagonists and characters ever
>a bunch of key characters like Kitana and Reptile missing
>Tanya brought back for reason whatsoever
>memeing Boraicho AGAIN
>goro and Shao Kahn being gamecube exclusives

>2nd best generation of MK
>Dark age

>PS2 Armageddon

Armageddon & MKvsDC is the dark age

people actually like DA for its multiple fighting styles and reinventing the series without actually rebooting it

Deception was just more of the same, but it had an insane amount of content.

Shaolin Monks is such an underrated co-op title, it really deserves way more praise

Konquest mode was the best thing about Deception

>my body when HD collection never

>God Tier
UMK3
MKX

>High Tier
MK5
MK9
MK2

>Meh Tier
MK6
MK7
MK3

>Shit Tier
MK1
MK4
MK8

>Shit Tier
>MK1
>MK4

>MK4
>shit

But it introduced the best villain in the series.

I liked the Mortal Kart racing

>MKX and UMK3 in a tier above MK9 and MK2

MKX has some of the worst gameplay in the series. Its basically a 2d version of the 3d games - shit tier neutral drowned in hit level mixups/vortexes. That game goes right in bottom tier. MK9 is easily the best game in series.

>MK1
>good

that game is literally unplayable

filled to the rim with glitches and bugs that were game breaking

That game has no appeal outside of the gore.

>muh neutral
>prefers MK9

dear god, it like all you want is projectile spamming freddy kreuger vs kabal all day

fuck that noise

MK4 is way more fun than the PS2 games.

>filled to the rim with glitches and bugs that were game breaking
That's every MK game. MK1 is a great first effort and still fun.

Mk4 console ports were trash

>No depth outside of just using Sonya gimmicks
>fun

Its not a competitive fighter by any means, but its fun to play casually.

I liked them all originally but realize how bad they are now.

>he never played MK Gold

You have no right to say that as long as that game exists.

>Deception
>Bad
You need to go ahead and fuck off.

Thanks for confirming that you never played MK9.

>Its not a competitive fighter by any means,
neither are most MKs

but plenty of them are fun.

>its fun to play casually.

no its not

unless by casual you mean violently rubbing your thumbs against the controller in hopes of winning like a "rock-em sock-em robot" match.

then yeah, eating feces can be fun as long as you ignore the taste

shit game is shit

I liked Armageddon for customization

I liked them all honestly. They weren't that bad honestly

It was casual and broken fun... i honestly believe they kinda "lost" something by trying to make it a competitive fighter.

>playing console ports of MK1
I found your problem.

Out of those I only played Deadly Alliance, but it was pretty good. Fuck load of unlockables, nice animation, pretty decent OST. What's wrong with it?

>implying the Arcade version is any better

unless by casual you mean violently churning butter on the cabinet in hopes of winning like a "rock-em sock-em robot" match.

then yeah, eating feces can be fun as long as you ignore the taste

shit game is shit

Shaolin Monks was pretty rad co-op.

Armageddon was good though

>Good story mode
>Huge ass roster
>Customization options
>Online

Deception was decent, Deadly Alliance is redundant thanks to Deception, Armageddon is shit, and Shaolin Monks is top tier gaming.

You played mkvsdc for two whole fucking months? What the fuck?

i think you mean:

>shitty nonsensical story
>cookie cutter roster with fighting styles being removed from everyone and given to new characters
>crappy create-a-fatality
>crap online

Its more of an uppercut/sweepingfest. Who even uses the shitty high and low punches? I still have no idea what they were thinking with those controls, right down to the block button. I still like playing it for casual fun though like I said.

why not just play MK2?

you really miss sonya and kano?

Shaolin Monks was awesome.
Deception had great extra modes with my favorite version of Story mode, Puzzle Kombat, and Chess Kombat. Combat got slightly better than DA's. Noob-Smoke was insanely cool to 13 year old me
DA isn't that great but the Krypt though

Armageddon and MKvsDC were both shit

>mkx and mk9
>60 Bucks for 4 characters

Those were the best mortal kombat games if you arent autistic and had friends when younger

Not as bad as people think it is. I think they're better than MK9 and X.

Great: Shaolin Monks
Decent: Deception
Acceptable: Deadly Alliance
Shit: Armageddon

>Deadly Alliance
>Deception
>Dark Age
Die.

Deception is probably my most played Mortal Kombat.

>That open world campaign mode
>Unlocking everything in the Krypt
>The chess and puzzle fighter modes

Reminder that they turned what was a background character in MK2 and a secret character in MKDA into the final boss in MKA.

Shaolin Monks & Armageddon are the only ones I ever bought.

Bo Rai Cho?

> Shaolin Monks
> Armageddon
> dark ages

How's it like being a faggot?
Armageddon had a huge roster and character creator was awesome.

Shaolin Monks some of the best cuhrazay combat i've ever seen for a licensed game that doesn't focus on that. It even had some of the best brutalities and a genuinely interesting plot and settings for the stages.

It was made in a time where developers actually cared.

But go ahead and jerk off over the shallow trite that is X because you can do fancy X Rays.

Shaolin Monks had pretty good gameplay and the co-op was excellent.

the dark ages are called the dark ages because there is little information of the time period, not because civilization was shit

Deception was amazing. Especially the ruse cruise they pulled off with Zombie Liu Kang.

>Didn't even list him in the official strategy guide. Only a vague hint
>Made him only unlockable by following a complex puzzle with time manipulation you had to look up online
>Midway devs intentionally went online with him and freaked people out
>Boards debated for weeks asking of Zombie Liu was real or someone was hacking the game
>The minute someone on MK Online figured out how to unlock him two weeks after the game came out. Midway put the missing strategy guide pages online and the unlock method.

Data Mining ruined shit like this but it was fucking awesome at the time. They did it in MK X with hiding hidden brutalities, but they would never do a whole character again (Mainly because Jews)

Oh yeah, I remember that. That's probably the only myth I remember being so enthused about, only for it to actually become real.

>creating your own fighter
>dark age
??? shit was and still is pretty fun

Boon, wheres our fucking remaster? or even better, sequel?

Loved the story mode in Deception. Fapped like a madman to Frost in Deadly Alliance.

Also the diversity in fighting styles in Deadly Alliance was the best of any of the games, for me.
