Anyone played Story of Seasons yet? Apparently the successor to Harvest Moon due to it sharing the same devs but not too sure if I want it.

The game is one of the best HM ever made, only problem are the occasional frame rate drops, i heard it runs flawlessly on a N3DS though.

Awesome. I wasn't too eager in getting Stardew Valley because I prefer that sorta stuff on handhelds.

I'm not even memeing. The romance might not have been a central part of the plot but with the blight in the background, intra-party banter and the epilogue, I really felt it meant something. The game really acknowledged your relationship.

I don't consider it a spiritual successor, Story of Seasons outright is Harvest Moon by another name, literally everyone that mattered left Natsume and it shows with the "Harvest Moon" made post original team departure being mediocre as it gets.

I got it on a N3DS, it runs almost as bad as on an O3DS

Natsume was just the publisher, not the developer.

While the girls aren't as striking as RF3, they're better developed instead of being defined entirely by a gimmick.

The amount of dialogue in the RF games are always a couple leagues above HM games. I can't stand playing any HM game very long because of this.

I like the way Fire Emblem mix it with the gameplay, not only the story. I wish other games would do something similar.

I wish other Persona games would add the choice of playing as a FeMC and romancing the boys.

Harvest Moon was always just the western name that Natsume owned in its entirety. Once the dev studio stopped associating with them, Natsume had other studios continue the Harvest Moon brand name.
Story of Seasons is literally just another "real" Harvest Moon game with the original jp name.

According to my friend, RF4 is trying to be RF3 but does it a bit poorly, is that true? I'm trying to decide which one to get.

That doesn't make any sense. RF4 is a refinement on RF3, but the main improvement is that it's about seven times longer. RF3 is short and sweet but exhausts itself of meaningful content after about 30 hours. Meanwhile I played RF4 for 200 something.

That's a pretty commonly held opinion. RF3 girls were great because they were insane, but they had the one quirk and that was basically it. RF4 girls had some real development. My least favorite girl initially turned out to be the one I liked the best in the end.
