Don't know yet. The only confirmed enemies are the Bakers, a Regenerator type of enemy called Shadow and maybe some more standard zombie like creatures.

6 is enjoyable if you ignore the fact that it is a Resident Evil game.
I do have to say though, considering that 7 is a blatant attempt of cashing in on the genious idea that was P.T., which is only about 2 years old, 7 didn't have that much time to be thoroughly polished.

now replaced by a first person game, where you just explore a spooky house, hide from the monsters, and maybe get to shoot a gun every now and then.

it's just that it's nothing like Resident evil.
you don't see your character, you won't see a thread in 10 years about the great main character of RE7 and his memorable voicelines.
getting by enemies in RE7 is gonna be shit, it removes the classic "dodging enemies" with hiding from them.

i also don't see them giving you a shotgun and grenade launcher in first person.
the VR gimmick sucks as well.
overall i'm just very sceptical about RE7...

outlast was a walking horror house simulator, where the only "puzzles" were: find a key to a door

Everything I've seen looks pretty much like Outlast with a few gimmicks thrown it. It doesn't look revolutionary or any more exciting than another Outlast.

Are you me? This is how I feel, also a huge fan of Resident Evil. I'm on the fence on whether or not to pre-order it, because whilst I love all previous RE titles, this looks like it's going down the Alien Isolation, Silent Hills route which really doesn't appeal to me.

and as i said before i don't see the passing by zombies and enemys thing work in first person, it will be the "wait behind this waist high object until the AI goes somewhere else and then proceed" wich sounds really fucking boring.

I don't understand why this hasn't happened yet. Enough name-value to fans of the series while also not as overused and tired as other characters. His persona is also perfect to combine the more stealthier, horror aspects of RE1-3 (think 4th Survivor) and the action of the newer titles. Also a good opportunity to bring Racoon City and Umbrella back if you do a sort of "in between game" timeline-wise.

Resident Evil characters are pretty neat and the Resi universe is cool. There's so much they could do with it.

I think this is the first major release in history to pretty explicitly be designed and marketed specifically to get free advertising from wacky youtubers. The fact that I love RE so much only adds to the pain.

Well... Revelations 2 was a huge step in the right direction. I just may give them the benefit of the doubt.

RE2 Remake will be made in the new 'RE' Engine, probably be first person, or hindered by it and will end up being an absolutely abysmal tribute to the original.

The fact that RE7 is first person does not mean that the RE engine can do only FP titles. Hell, even the VR gimmick can be removed for Remake 2, focusing only on pure graphical fidelity.

I don't get why people are fond of RE6. It's like RE5, when everyone defending it was because of the co-op. It's ok if you liked it though, don't get me wrong.

It was still less action-y than anything from RE4 until now (at least you were not suplexing everyone or blasting your way through with an RPG), the coop thing was way less intrusive and provided you with more control over the characters than 5 or 6, and the episodic release was purely due to budget constraints. Definitely not the best RE ever, but better than pretty much every other game in the series for the past decade.

RE3 > RE2 any day.

Don't worry, user. From the looks of it, it'll probably be puzzle-driven and thus too complicated to be streaming material. Keep in mind that most youtubers use games with jumpscares and fast-paced, RE7 looks very slow.

The problem with gaming today is people fall for the hype. They make it look so good in screenshots, trailers and in demos at E3 and it just sucks people in to pre-order. Then when the game comes out they're like what the fuck is this shit? And the sad thing is these same people get roped in year after year. I don't even pay attention to what's coming out anymore. When I decide I want to buy a game I just look at what's available and what I think will be the best bang for the buck. I finally got fed up with being disappointed year after year.
