Enhanced edition is better in every way
>And what game setting is best, Classic or Tactician?
If you want to play through the game without major difficulties, pick classic. If you want ball punching challenge, pick tactician.

EE is objectively superior. There is no reason to play the original.

Classic difficulty can get pretty dull as it gets quite easy, but on the other Tactician is going to break your balls, especially on certain bosses (fucking Boreas). If you like battles that are puzzle-like in nature, go for Tactician.

ok thanks guys.

I'm starting now but I'm confused.

Why the fuck can't I make my character bald when half the portraits are bald?

Tactician WILL fuck you up. You have to properly stock everyone with potions/scrolls and gear them up accordingly for immunities. Minmaxing is sorta required but whats really important is to get the right skills for your party. I found it to be unrewarding for the most part and never finished my tactician playthrough.

Classic is fun but becomes too easy around the end. Its kinda shit how there is no halfway between classic and tactician.

Tactician becomes piss easy mode when you learn mechanics and environment, like making thunderstorm and slippery ice on guys. End game is shit easy but very interesting storywise

What a coincidentally timely thread. Me and my buddy just started a co-op run today. I've beaten the game before, but he's completely new to divinity. We're playing on tactician, but outside of the first zombie fight where the bolt-stricken zombies come in halfway through and the zombie guard dog fight, we've not had much difficulty at all in battles. I was absolutely amazed by how easy the ghoul that guards the lighthouse was. We completely steamrolled him the first time, and we reloaded the fight to try from a different approach to see if it was harder. He jokingly teleported me into the middle of all the enemies at the very start of the battle, thinking we'd get absolutely fucked as a result, but we still pulled through without much difficulty. Did they nerf that fight in particular?

Also, can you no longer cheese treasure chests? It seems like they stop spawning random loot after the second reload.

>There is no reason to play the original
I did like the NO ONE HAS AS MANY FRIENDS AS THE MAN WITH MANY CHEESES and such better on the original though, but that's about it.

Classic. Enhanced took a lot of wpells out, making it pretty boring. Also fuck everytjing being voice acted.

whats it like playing Co-op? might play it with my brother when I come home for christmas.

It seems kind of pointless for a turn-based game but I guess it could be fun.

Classic difficulty if you're actually going to roleplay, tactician otherwise.

you mean spells?

can you elaborate on that?

It's pretty fun. Things get extra fun when you got an idea of how you're going to shape the battlefield and your buddy has his own conflicting idea and you guys just end up fucking eachother's turns over with smoke or shocked ground and whatnot. We're not playing over vent or anything, just using in-game text, so the communication being sub par definitely enhances the experience I think.

when are they going to add skelington race to OS 2? WHEN?

For whatever reason they removed and reworked a lot of spells.
Feather Fall (a non damagin teleport spell with a 1 turn cooldown and 1 ap cost) was removed, for example.
So was a healing spell. In the original, there were two healing spells, one with low cooldown but didn't heal as much, a second one with higher cooldown but also more healing. The second one was pretty much an upgrade to the first, so it gave some sense of spell progression. In the EE there's only a single spell that scales with you. This applies to other abilities as well, like the whirlwind skill, instead of having two skills it was all reduced to one skill that scales stronger.
Personally I really didn't like that very much, because you rarely learn anything new in the EE.

Also many spells got reworked and in the process the game got easier, imho
Like that level 1 air spell: in the original it Chilled the enemy, but if an enemy was Wet, instead of chilling him the enemy got Frozen, which made for some interesting plays if you cast Rain before the battle, everyone is wet, and then you freeze them with the spell. In EE this is casualized like hell and the spell itself instead of Chilling now immediately Freezes an enemy.

Also Piercing Shard was removed. That spell was so awesome in my opinion. It pierced through enemies in a line, having the chance to immediately freeze them. Because it was in a line you had to do some fucking around with positioning your caster, using Teleportation and Feather Fall to also position the enemies and bam, you could freeze like 3-4 enemies with Piercing Shard.

(cont.)

I remember having to rely on such combinations like crazy in the first part of the game (Cysil or whatever the town was called). In the EE you don't do any of that shit, you can beat anything without having to rely on hard CC like that. Only played on normal difficulty though, so I can't saay much about Tactician, but from what other anons say in this thread, it mostly boils down to using pots and preparations like that instead of interesting and fun spell combinations.

I guess it all boils down to personal preference, but missing those spells and having them reworked made the game much less fun for me.

>a non damagin teleport spell with a 1 turn cooldown and 1 ap cost) was removed
That's overpowered as shit, though they could've just nerfed it instead of outright removing it

On release, lad.

>Marked One, did I ever tell you about the time when everyone had a British accent and the whole universe almost ended because of some plant slut? By the way that imp who stole your teleporters is actually in charge of recording all of history.

Could you make anything good through crafting at all? Good gear came by so easily that i never bothered.

Enhanced is mostly better than the original even with some stuff removed for no reason.Play on tactician and enjoy its a fun game.

and arhu is a fucking nigger

>you will forever be the only one who likes classic more than the enhanced version
Whoever prefers the Enhanced Edition killed Kirill with their shitty preferences.

>Having Madora in your party.

Crafting allows you to make gear with an aditional stat, armors have way more defense, lower requirements and you can polish them for even more defense, put a ruby on them for 20something% all elemental resistances as well, weapons usually deals almost twice the damage of a found weapon of your level, you can add an elemental damage, you can sharpen it for even more damage, and if you dont want fire/water/earth/etc you can amke it a tenebrium damage weapon that is pretty much 3 times better than anything made of tenebrium you find of your level, requirements are also damn low compared to them, you can also use a tormented soul for even more stats (melee) or a telescope (forgot how its called in game) for bows.

Topmost guy is a Jew. Literally sucks in all things combat related but can identify items, has full lore knowledge, full crafting, full speech & charisma, etc
Madora is for muscle
Thirdmost is destructive magic
Fourth is healing

Madora was extreme necessity.

Nah, you're not alone, user.

Damn, i had no idea. Definitely gonna make an effort to craft shit in 2 when it comes out.

EE

classic is braindead difficulty, tactician is ok

It's already out, I thought.

Playing on tactician I thought the game had a nice level of difficulty to it. I had to use spell combinations and stage hazards in order to succeed, and there were even a few fights I had to try again because I didn't plan things out well enough the first time. Then the entire game turned into a joke when I hit level 15 and learned master skills. Start every fight with the meteor spell, first turn use the hail storm spell, then if anything is still alive mop up with rain of arrows. Almost every fight was over in a single turn.

Also you can attach large nails to your boots and you get inmunity to slipping (no knokdown, just slipping on ice)

>Early access
>Out

>get to first town
>try and put the flaming shit in the harbour out with my water staff
>accidentally hit one of the sailors
>they tell me off
>hit the ship next time
>it sinks
>they all go hostile
>kill every last one of them
well... can't say that went to plan.

>game available in a fully playable state
>not out

Casting rain weather magic worked well

>Not using rain

EE, the only thing better about the original is the voice acting. Play Classic first then replay on Tactician, Tactician requires you to have a handle on the mechanics from the get-go.

see

Go fuck yourself, the spell nerfs were necessary beyond belief. Elemental shields could cheese most of the game effortlessly.

Don't have it, just have more fire or oil...

Also why the fuck do female orcs look like some weird hentai prostitute shit?

Game isn't even Japanese.

You get a rain scroll early in the game, you use that.

Is OS as bland and boring as Divinity 2? Dropped that game after getting the fortress.

It's a single player, so no, they really weren't necessary at all. They took alot of fun out of the game.

Yes, they were necessary, because they broke the balance of the game over their knee.

But you wouldn't understand that because you don't understand the first thing about game balance.

>nerfs
You wut? Apart from the removed spells everythung got BUFFED.

>no more needing multiple healing spells in a game with limited spellslots in the beginning
>no more needing to prepare for fights if you want to freeze enemies, just use the air spell
And those are just the ones I remember.

Elemental shields got rightfully nerfed by making them only apply to their specific element.

Hoe about you just don't rely on mages so ,uch then? It'sbnot like melees were shit, just compared to mages. Not the games fault your babby ass can't into self control.

I bet you also cry about optional cheats in games.

Pick Tactician, it gets easy enough in the second half of the game, anything below Tactician is casual mode. The first fight might fuck you, but it's not representative of the overall Tactician difficulty.

I agree that Bitter Cold is hideously OP and was much better with just the Chilled effect, but from my experience Deadly Spores on a fire surface is by fat the most ridiculous thing in EE.

bls resbond :DDDD

OS is a lot better than Divinity 2, although I enjoyed both.

Are you still on atlas?

Character creation is shit.

fuck
guess it's time to ruin my backlog even more

AtlasRO?

Yeah, why you ask?
