Reload animation

>reload animation
>empty clip just falls through the floor and disappears

>clip

thank you, i'll be here all week
*bows out*

>magazine

>Reloading a weapon before the magazine is empty
>Rounds are added to a pool rather than keeping a partially filled magazine

>reload animation
>throw clip away
>unused ammo from the clip is preserved
How?

u could almost say....the clip was noclip

i remember playing a shooter that wasn't like this once, it blew my mind

lol portal reference
"the clip is a lie"

>clip

Battlefield 1 just came out, it's entirely possible he actually meant a clip that you feed into a fixed magazine gun.

metal gear got it half right
keeping the empty mags to distract guards was a good idea

>portal reference

>shoot all bullets
>reload animation
>takes out the magazine
>puts new one in
>character doesn't pull the slide

I spit my tea.
Nice one user

>reload gun
>animation is just ejecting the cartridge and inserting it again

Is this something "hardcore gaymers" actually care about?

fucking todd

>gun have different reload animations if the clip is empty or not
>gun has completely new reload animation when given upgardes

>Empty shotgun
>Load one shell
>Shotgun is now fully loaded

>Empty rifle
>Pull charging handle Is that what it's called?
>Rifle fully loaded

I liked that in Black, the magnum would reload one round at a time unless it was empty, in which case you would use a speed reloader. The annoying thing was that your character would stare at the speed reloader for a couple seconds before loading it.

>reload the gun
>all the unused bullets are gone

>FO4's lever action reload
This is why i dropped the game, niggers are too fucking lazy to get shit right.

>combat rifle
>uses .45 acp

>Reload
>Animation starts
>The character is finished loading the next mag
>Melee to skip rest of animation
>cancels reload instead

>reload
>character lowers gun just offscreen of first-person view
>raises gun again
>fully loaded
>pistol has the same loading time as a rocket launcher

do you not know how guns work?

>don't shoot all bullets
>reload animation
>take out the magazine
>puts in new one
>character pulls the slide

Props to games that leave the extra round. STALKER was even better in that when loading shotguns you could load different shell types into different barrels or all into the same tube mag.

What game?

I wish more games did this. Tired of taking out a magazine that has half of its bullets used, and still maintaining the same total ammo count.

In ARMA, Insurgency and the Day of Infamy mod, half empty magazines are returned to your inventory, where they'll be reloaded into your gun after all full magazines are gone.

Not quite "gone" but as close as I guess.

>Character spins guns around
>They are now reloaded

That's perfectly fine if they make it so you never see this.

I remember there was a glitch in bf3 where you could look further down than intended and all of the pistols did that.

You think you want this, but it would really only work for the more realistic type games like ARMA. Imagine doing something like that in Doom if it did have reloading, it would be awful and not fun.

GTA?

GTA IV

Yup. They really improved the reload animations in V, but the shotguns still do that.

All guns reload animations are this

They don't spawn a new magainze, it just goes out of view.

Same thing in Red Orchestra and Rising Storm.

>pick up ppsh or mkb
>3+ mags
>load mag
>3 shots
>load mag
>1 shot
>load mag
>10 shots

Grow up Todd you fucking manlet piece of shit

Third person shooters don't, and I assume there are at least some FPSs that have you drop the empty magazine on the ground and spawn a new one.

>Fire all rounds in pistol mag
>Racks the open slide back, rather than use slide stop

>loading semi auto shotgun
>insert two shells
>fully loaded

Or even worse

>loading gun
>as soon as the mag/clip makes contact with the gun your ammo is full
>quick switch guns and it's fully loaded
>didn't even finish reloading

Or hell even

>discarding any revolver rounds when reloading the full cylinder
>shooting rounds from a revolver
>when you reload only a few, the empty caseings arnt in the cylinder where they should be
>empties the cylinder like an ape

I wan't this for multiplayer games so that people learn to conserve ammo and think about how they shoot. If CoD had this mechanic I think it would be much more fun and engaging.

Single player games can do whatever they want.

>quick switch guns and it's fully loaded
>didn't even finish reloading

>Reloading instantly in Metal Gear games by double tapping the equip/unequip button

...

This has to be an animation hyper made

>throwing gun and putting the slightly empty clip into a new one
OK this person doesnt know shit about guns

>I was just pretending to be retarded

>Down to last few shots
>Reload animation is character pulling back a section of the gun and a glowing clip popping out

Or

>Gun has to charge for 2 seconds before each shot
>Reloading animation is the gun rapid-cooling
>Charging+rapid-cooling=ammo exists?

Or

>Character pushes a stack of ammo into a gun's chamber
>Individual shots are produced instead of either the entire stack being fired at once or the barrel getting fucked because too much shit is filling it at once.

>draw a weapon
>character racks the bolt
>does it every time the weapon is drawn

>mfw muzzleloaders

if you can think of a better way for the mole people to get their ammo then id love to hear it smart guy

>this takes so long that it manages to get dark by the time he's finished reloading

>shoot a deer
>have to wait five minutes for the smoke to clear
>realise it was a shit shot and the deer has run to the other side of the map by now

The alternative is tedious.

Example: In Project Zomboid, if you have a pistol with an empty magazine, you'd need to [Reload] to eject the magazine, then select that magazine, [Reload] to load rounds into the mag one bullet at a time, then select the gun and [Reload] to put the mag back in the gun. Of course, if you find multiple pistols, you can always remove the mags from all of your other pistols, and then it's just old mag out, new mag in, and it keeps track of the bullets in the old mag.

It sounds all kinds of immersive, but it's just boring. That's why I just stick with an axe.

Yeah, what the fuck are you firing, a goddamned musket? There's a reason it's called smokeless powder.

I've never played zomboid, but mechanics like that aren't too tedious. The main problem is when you have survival zombie type games where you never have enough ammo to fill up one gun so you end up having a hotbar full of half empty pistols.

Is it a good game?

>clip

Black Ops 3 does that.

Pretty sure each gun can have like 4-5 different reload animations.

>the mag you throw out becomes an object in-game world as you throw it on the floor instead of just dissapearing

Your best bet is to FIND SOMEWHERE SECURE, then empty the mags out of the pistols, and the bullets out of the mags, then top off as many mags as possible. I find it's better to have like 2 or 3 full mags than seven different pistols with only 2-4 rounds each.
It's very detailed, and it's as difficult as you want it to be. It has some good mechanics to it, and if you're not careful, you can die very fast. Try to keep zombies from biting you. If you do get bit, keep the wound disinfected and bandaged. Change your bandage regularly.

One other note about it: You WILL eventually die. As you proceed, supplies get harder and harder to come by, the power and water will fail, and more and more zombies will spawn. It says right at the beginning of the game something along the lines of "This is the story of how you died.

But is the game fun?

>American and British soilders shown having pmags and stanag magazines with magpul mag assists in their mag pouches
>no gun in the game has pmags or stanag magazines with magpul mag assists on them
>one of the guns in the game literally has s broken DIY magpul mag assist on it

it takes true retardation to go out of your way to fuck up obvious details like this

>when equipping a shotgun, your character specially wears a outfit for shotgun
>it doesn't have shotgun shells anywhere on it, just stanag mag pouches

I found it fun, but everyone has their own definition of "fun". If you enjoy survival sandbox type games along the lines of 7 Days to Die or something, then you might enjoy it.
>"Oh wow! They have the heat physics on the stove to prepare various soups and whatnot with raw ingredients!"

If your preference is twitch shooters, then it will bore you to tears:
>"Ugh... no guns, no zombies, and what's up with this hunger shit? I don't want Burger Cooker Simulator 2013. I want to kill some goddamned zombies!"

>character shown directly having 8+ 40mm grenade pouches on their plate carriers
>can only reload the 40mm grenade launcher once

>sniper outfit is just the shotgunner outfit with ghillie wrapping all over it

>equip rifle
>become Russian team
>magazines in mag pouches don't change to the magazines the rifle takes, just stays as the AK rounds regardless of selected rifle

>backblasts aren't modelled
>infinite vehicle ammo
>claymore mines have motion sensors

Thank you for correcting the record, .05 cents has been depisoted into your account

solid fucking bait user, keep at it
