Is this worth $35? I've got an Xbox 360 controller right now but a couple buttons are kinda glitchy on it, specifically the bumpers. How is it different? Should I get an XBONE controller instead?

Get it's god like.

Never used it but you should the Xbox one controller instead

>trackpads
Complete garbage.

go for xbone or a new 360. there are some steelseries pads with really nice dpads too

I tried it and it was honestly very cheap feeling, very light. I would not recommended but I have fairly large / strong hands.

It depends. Are you a retarded redditor with an unhealthy obsession with a fat man and his DRM software? Then get it, it's MEANT for you.

Do you actually wanna play videogames and are but a colossal homosexual retard? The bone's is better. If you are actually curious about the feel of a trackpad in videogames, get a PS4 controller, it now gets properly recognized so you can try the tablet and experience the awfulness first hand.

I got one last year and I've used it exactly never. Xbone all the way. I don't even have an Xbox.

>Should I get an XBONE controller instead?
This. I tried that controller once and while it's not as terrible as people say it is, I simply prefer traditional joysticks. My two cents.

Just get another 360 or one controller. The steam controller is shit

I have had mine for almost a year now. It works pretty well for gaming on my Steamlink. It does have a bit of a learning curve which alot of people don't have patience for.

This. However I actually like the concept of the steam controller. I will keep an eye out if they ever do a generation 2.

Alright so new question since steam controller is shit: what are the differences between XBONE and X360 controllers? I know XBONE has a sleek looking design but are there any actual differences in the controllers? And I assume there are wired XBONE controllers?

It's a piece of shit. The track pads are awful.

how are they awful

Save your fucking money. The Steam Controller has too much setup and the Xbone controller isn't worth the $40 upgrade.

I can't recommend it for anything online, but it's comfy for playing SP games on the couch. Works great for UI-heavy games, but action games take some adapting

If it would work outside of steam with relative low amounts of custom software I would go for it. This not being the case I decided for the the new xbone one, because it looks and feels better.

It's pretty much improved in every way IMO

make sure you get the latest version which is much easier to sync

This made me cringe

Buy it on amazon and return it if you don't like it
Problem solved

It's trash get a 360 controller

I need to get a new controller anyways since my 360 is wearing down on some of the buttons. I've had it for a while and I got it used anyways to try it.

Do they not come wired?

What are you gonna do about it, loser? Downvote me? Oh wait.

Uploading this to r/cringe now

worth every pennie(s)

Does the new bluetooth xbone controller still have a clicky d-pad

What are the differences between these two? Amazon says the second link is the newer one but I don't see any difference.

Ya

The one without any reviews is the new bluetooth model

Don't buy that unless you want to spend $20 for a usb cable:

If you have a standard Android charger, you can connect it that way if I'm not mistaken.

it will take you a while to adjust from the 360 controller but it is a god tier controller once you do

Yes, but don't expect it to genuinely compare to a mouse + keyboard. I use it in bed when I've switched my PC over to my TV, because mouse and keyboard is just not as comfy when you're trying to hide under sheets.

The customization options are great.

Wait the xbone one works on normal micro USB cables? Shit that's new, I like that. That's a nice feature.

It's really not great since micro usb ports like to break

I'd get a bluetooth adapter for your PC if you don't already have one

I hate wireless stuff, it seems like there's always a very noticeable input lag, and my mom is always buying three packs of some pretty sturdy micro USB cables so I can just use those.

>how is it different

Way more buttons for customization. The track pads are better than analog sticks and have nice feedback. In fact everything has good feedback. I love it a lot for turn based games honestly. Never tried anything like an FPS or RPG

2.4ghz bluetooth devices have a typical input latency of 3 ms. This is not something humanly discernible. Old radio wave technology was definitely shit but that's a conversation you should have been having a couple decades ago

If you're experiencing input lag with any modern wireless device, it's something else that's causing it, most likely your TV
