Dying on the first level

>dying on the first level
What was the last game you played where this happened to you?

...

>always rememeber this scene when I die on the first level
>feel really bad
I-I'm not 4!

I got killed by a rock trap on level 1 in nethack yesterday.

Technically, E. Y. E.
I had to take the ladder since I fucked up with the elevator, and I was always bad with the Half Life ladders for some weird reason.

Plague Inc.
My first plague was Game Grumps
Fuck you Greenland

No one plays games with numeric "levels" anymore OP. That concept is outdated.

Godhand

God Hand. At least my shit wasn't pushed in so far I vomited it up like the first time I played it.

Even most AAA shooters still have a course system, if not as clear and cut as DOOM (except for Battlefield where they are).

In fact, name five games that don't have levels in some form.

Nowadays I'm too old to give a shit. Ain't need a manual, I'll figure out what buttons do when I press it next to enemies and one of us dies. Is there a secret down this bottomless pit? Only one way to find out motherfucker

I don't know if it's the most recent, but it's the only one I can remember

Dark Souls 2, I didn't know that they changed the binding for jump and I sprinted off the edge in the tutorial level.

Deus Ex

Dragon Ball Z Legacy Of Goku 2

Dream Frieza out of nowhere kicked Gohan's ass so hard he managed to die in his sleep

NiGHTS into Dreams

About 30 minutes ago, it was on sale on steam and I can't get the controls down and have no idea what to do.

fpbp

D44M.

I know this is such a meme and I apologize, but truly Dark Souls 1.

I wish I can return and play it for the first time again. Now it's just me ''speedrunning'' to get a maxed out weapon to pvp as soon as possible.

Furi.
Granted it only has bosses rather than actual levels, so.

Metroid Prime 2, I think. I got BTFO pretty hard by the first mini-boss/guardian because I figured they'd all be slow in the game's predecessor

Super Hexagon,

I remember those days

Ladders weren't designed for first person games. 9/10 times you're going to fall to your death.

Bloodborne

I tried Titanfall 2 at the hardest difficulty and couldn't make it past the first level but then I put it on the second hardest and did the whole campaign no sweat. I hadn't played MP before that either. I might try it again at the hardest now that I've played MP.

EO3

Same, made me rage pretty hard

Witcher 3 during the tutorial where you run around Kaer Morhen with Ciri. Fell off a wall and died.

Same. Getting that achievement set a tone of dissapointment that was not erased when playing through the game

Arma 3
>enemies are supposed to be some kind of ragtag militia fags
>they shoot like fucking navy seals

On the games I've hard a time learning, like MGR's parry system, I died a lot on Bladewolf and then the rest of the game was easier.

Are we counting dungeons as levels? For inatance, Ocarina of Time and Silent Hill 2 have themed aeeas, but do those count as levels?

Playing Ninja Gaiden Black for the first time, so that. Incredible game though.

every hentai game

Witcher 3

Died in the prologue tutorial within like 20 seconds. Went out on the balcony and hit space bar to try and jump up on the railing. Vaulted it instead and plummeted to my death. Hearty chuckle unlocked.

Wow, weird coincidence.

I'm Looks like you made it a few minutes farther into it than me. I never got out of the room with Yen.

>someone who has shit taste in vidya is shit at vidya
>weird coincidence
not really
